One of the more common alerts i get here. Also those WR 120s are LOUD!!! My high school has one and I tested their alert tone while I was setting up the clock for them and boy it got me. Nice video!
Im guessing this was on KWO35 bc i was in the airport and SOMEHOW i caught it on my phone! I saw it was looking like it was going to thunder but when i got it, I got marine and at the time i had no idea what it was
Because it’s not necessarily limited to thunderstorms. They can be issued for anything like a gust front, shower, waterspout, snow squall, etc. . Anything that poses a threat to boaters. That way the NWS doesn’t have to spell every single hazard out.

My most common is a Severe Thunderstorm Warning I don’t get SMWs because I’m on main land and no lakes near me
@@Weatheradiosarecool That make sense. SVR's would also be just as common for me if I didn't live near a lake. Lol.
I bet this happens more often in Florida
Im inland
I’ve been in one I think…
Its rare for inland people but common for people near the coast
I had one happen during vacation, I missed it tho
Every Time There Is A Thunderstorm In My Area, My Midland WR120EZ Always Goes Off For A Special Marine Warning.
Excellent catch my man, I’m uploading one right now

Why is it called "special"?
