Fact is, many people have mastered the paintings nowadays, so you cant have THAT many 'pros', so they invented new ways to still mantain an 'elite', and that's why you see talented painters on the street, painting in real time and selling their art cheap, while you see others getting rich for taping a banana onto the wall.

Of cource people that just do portraits or just rely on making paintings are on streets,
because... competition exists and... advertisment.... BUT THATS CAPITALISM, NOT ART ITS NOT ABOUT ART AT ALL!
Selling comissions requires fame, thats why all the artists work for companies either as graphic designers or... animators, or other jobs, actuall jobs BACICALLY WORKING ON POSITIONS THAT MAKE SENSE IN THE PRESENT REAL WORLD.
So you either make a name for yourself and advertise yourself (through different means of cource, which actually may include making provocayive art like that) or... just finnaly fucking realise that we're not talking about money, we're talking about art
most of the modern art isnt even for sale
its an experience, an expression
a way to push the boundaries of human perception

I love the statue and the concept. People hated the Vietnam war memorial for years and now it’s iconic. Same for The Bean I’m Chicago now it’s a must do
for tourist. If you don’t like a work of art don’t look at it. But an artist has the creative right to make the work that they want to. You’re doing the same thing with this video. Boring argument but you’re allowed to make it.

People might have a creative right to make whatever they want, but the real issue is who is commisioning it and why would anyone OK a shitty art piece is such a public tourist spot.

I don't think many people understand the subject matter of the French 19th Century Classical art. They probably find it easier to relate to the early Modern art of the Impressionists, or Andy Warhols Pop art.

Even if you have a gasp on 4 dimensional geometry and 3d projections that are representing hipercubes or the n-cells ... It still dosent make much sense.
When you put a 3d object in 4 dimensional space its look normal, then get flatten then get depth again but it is actually mirrored. The 2d crossection is always the same. That is a half turn.
You can turn a 3d object to see every single atom of it, even the inside. But the simulations dosent look like that and it is liturally incomprehensible. physiologically.
