- After three trips were cancelled due to weather, I was finally able to sail. I had limited success catching pinfish for bait and unfortunately managed to catch a PB red snapper... After that I focused on beeliner (vermillion snapper) and was able to catch 16 before we headed for Hoover.

The food is decent! I normally get a variety of food there and it is always good!
Their Philly cheese steak is pretty damn decent. And beer is cheap. I was more than impressed with the galley
What size of spinning reel you pulled tuna?
You need 300 yds of 65lb braid, so anything that will hold that and apply 15lbs of drag would be good!
What weight of leader line where you using on your popper brother?
I use 80lb leader. Normally a wind on.
What is the best time of year to fish yellow fin?On the new buccaneer
All year… bigger fish in winter normally but more fish in the summer

I’ve done a 12 hour trip but I’m considering a 30 hour. What is the travel time vs fishing time roughly on the 30 hour?
It is probably about the same. You will run about 4-5 hours, start fishing for bottom fish, fish a few spots then head to the rigs. If Matt is making a long run to the rig or if it’s winter time you get less bottom fishing. I have also seen Matt stop on the way in if the tuna fishing was bad…

Nice size tuna! Doesn't look pleasant to get bigger one with all those people shoulder to shoulder.
We actually manage through it and work together as a team to catch the fish! The tuna tango is chaotic at times but we manage to work through it and seldom lose a fish...
