If someone had some common sense they'd build a 3 wheel gas or electric scooter like the Piaggio MP3 500cc with a lightweight aerodynamic removable weather enclosure and removable saddle bags/rear storage compartments. It'd be fast enough to travel on highways, able to carry 2 people, get great mpgs, for road trips or grocery store runs you could attach the storage compartments. On nice days you can remove the enclosure if you wanted. It could be rode year round, even in light snow with some snow/knobby tires.
The British made a 3 wheeled auto called the Morgan 3 wheeler. A 2 seater with a V-twin engine out front. Leather interior. This year (2021) was the last year made and were scheduled for phase out. Always wanted one but they were out of my price range…..so I picked up an original Mini Cooper for 350 pounds or quid as the Brits would say.
If you knew what you were talking about you would know that there is no backwards trikes except in your mind. They are called tadpole for the 2 wheels in the front and delta for the 2 wheels in the back. Tadpoles are made in Australia, Taiwan, Germany, Zcheck Republic, England, with the US having the most brand diversity. Most of them are now offering electrified pedelec versions but still mostly pedal powered with chains replaced by belts, gears and derailleur replaced by internal gear hubs, CVTs and even electronic shifting
