  • Here we have the Fokker E.III Eindecker by HobbyKing.
This is a good value kit, and flying this model is great as it is so sedate.
Two things to look out for. First, make sure you mount the motor box to the fuselage square, this will then set the thrust lines correctly. Second, the manual says that the centre of gravity is 100mm from the wing leading edge, this isn't the case with mine. After using an online calculator I set mine at 75mm and this is spot on.

Looks like it flies quite well. Congrats! I'll be starting on mine before much longer.

A really realistic and graceful model of the Fokker E.III,such a contrast in fighter aircraft development over the years from your new P-51 Mustang, keep on flying these historic aircraft Gary !

Amazing plane, thanks again for make this video for us. In the future, when u do a fly video, try to bring the plane closer, don't let it go to far, because we only see a shadow, also, try more touch and go, land and take off. When I watch a video that's what I always look it up. I hope my albize help you, the same way u help people sharing your videos .

Very nice thanks for the Video, Would like to see more detail of the controls, Batt, Prop size, and motor selection.
Great build. Does she level out by herself like a high-wing trainer? Some shots looked like it did.
Thank you for taking the time to make the Video,
    Cheers.

I made a video shortly after the build: ruclips.net/video/9iRTrnFtVoU/видео.html In one of my replies in the comments section I have listed all the components used. The wing on this model has no dihedral so will not level out without input. Thanks for your kind words.

Wow, what a beautiful flying day, nice and sunshiny with little wind. Have you flown this plane in any wind? kind of curious how it would handle those conditions. I certainly do really like your build with this. I'm going to replicate your work when I build mine.

Cheers Brad. No I haven't flown it in any kind of wind as I don't think it will handle it. On a nice calm day it is fantastic.

I put saito 6.5cc 4 stroke on it,now have about 2150grams ..i hope this engine will be enough for this bird..But i wonder ask something else..where is the right-ideal CG and what is the "pitch" of elevator and ailerons? Big Thanx for any answer or info!! Greeting from Slovenia, Klemen !

      Hi buddy,
Unfortunately I have sold this model. From what I can remember the c of g is 75mm from leading edge of wing.
I can't remember the the elevator/aileron travels but I did put 30% expo on both.
Elevator trim was needed for the maiden flight as it wanted to climb with level trim.
      Hope all goes well.

@@garyflint1965 thanks gary and nice landing. you have mad skills on the sticks !!! That plane takes a lot of time to put together so I'm sure it's a "nervous" flight each time but you nailed it !! thanks for sharing the video. How many man-hours did it take to put together? I might get one for my son so just checking.

@@harpoon_bakery162 Unfortunately I didn't make a note of the build time so I'd only be guessing. I would say take your time building it and go through the instructions a couple of time before you start so it's clear how it goes together. Your son will without doubt enjoy the experience.
      Thanks for your kind words.
