- It's Tea Time!...Worm Castings Tea! Did you know that worm castings are odorless? Did you also know that they contain beneficial minerals that instantly boost plant health, and are 100% safe to use on ANY type of plant? (Roses, Vegetables, even House Plants!) It's True!
One of the most efficient ways to use them is by creating worm castings tea! - In this video, we make it in a 5 gallon bucket without the use of a bubbler! Here's How:
The materials needed are:
• 5 gallon bucket
• 3 cups of Worm Castings (Coast of Maine's Wiscasset Blend of course!)
• 2 TBSP unsulfarated molasses
• Stirring stick
• Tap Water (we recommend you let it sit for 24 hrs before use to ensure it is chlorine-free)

Pure vitamin C (Ascorbic acid) is a fast way to neutralize chlorine as well. I know many know this but just sharing for those who don't.
Perfect and to the point🙏🏽 most of these vids where 10-20 minutes long😳 why??????
Great video but you didn't mention unsulfured molasses. And an aquarium bubbler definitely helps the process👍
Thanks for the idea and I'm going to filter my mix and pour it directly into the deep root watering system tubes, I'm thinking the baby fruit trees will love the mix.
i also use a bubbler to make all my teas, but this idea reminds me of making sun tea ( hiccup) 🥳 ive been using a combo of worm castings and pro biotics as well as a small amount of bat guano during aggressive veg stages.. i cannot wait to try the bloom suggestion.
Thanks u jus taught me more about earthworm tea
For lawn\grass application. I have 2000 sq feet, would you dilute the mixture or just make more ot it?
If you happen to have a kitchen sink or shower head water filter, take your bucket into the sink or shower to fill. You might also want to put the 5 gallon bucket on the floor and use a pitcher to put water from sink. A full bucket of water will weigh about 40 lbs.
The comment about gassing off the chlorine in your water is correct, however many utilities are using chloramine that does not gas off. If you will add about a tablespoon of powdered ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) to your bucket of water it is ready to use in 10 minutes or so. I let mine sit for an hour. This way to can be sure that the water is clear of antimicrobials. Or use a filter.
Can I grind up a few vitamin c pills?
Ascorbic acid is a plant metabolite, so it seems that you get two benefits from using it.
FYI almost no water in developed countries is chlorinated.
Everyone is using an amine of chlorine now (chloramine). This is used due to is higher stability (is longer lasting) and becuase it has almost no effect on taste when its concentration is at ideal levels. Its perfectly safe for you, and won't cause any harm, despite what tin hat idiots will say.
No amount of leaving your water in the sun will get rid of it, but you can filter it off using reverse osmosis.
That said, the concentration in most tap water is adequate enough to kill most microbes that thrive in water, but it does have its limits.
If you follow this video, you'll be fine, but its a good idea to add an extra bunch of worm castings after a few hours or so, as most of the bacteria in the first addition might have been wiped out, so a second inoculation is not actuslly a bad idea. The chloramine in that water will be able to kill heaps of bacteria but it won't contiuoisly do that forever. Once its been used up, the water is fair game for what ever wants to call it home.
In soil this process is a lot different, and you shouldn't have to worry to much at all when watering soil directly with fresh tap water, due to the absolute abundance of microbial life, and the ease of recontamination
After one day you can use any water to irrigate them? By the way nice video!

I love the soils. The stonington mix. It appears to hot to seed with for auto flowers. How big should plant or seedling be before putting it in the stonington mix? Some of my autos get choked by it some do not. Help.
I love CoM products, especially the Stonington line. I just started making teas using a bubbler. Can you recommend any CoM amendments specifically for veg and flower stages? Thanks for the vids. I have learned so much.
Hi Erik, thanks so much for the #SoilLove
Can this recipe be used with coco coir?
I am currently using CoM seed starter, and was wondering how soon can i start to use this compost tea?
Compost tea should always be used almost immediately for best results.
Could you please explain why you need the molasses? My understanding is the latest recommendation is to not use molasses. Thanks, love your channel!
Linda Parent its my understanding that molasses do provide certain minerals such as sulphur and magnesium but you must ensure that the molasses used are fully organic un sulphured molasses, which is to say that there are no extra sulphur additions. I mostly use sulphur in a high BRIX requirement for fruiting shrubs and trees .
Hi Linda, the only real "need" is oxygen. The bacteria and microbes need the oxygen to survive. (Hence, all the stirring.) The molasses is not a "need" per se, but more of an "assist." It gives the bacteria a carbohydrate source to feed on, and helps to fuel them for their task (our goal) of repopulating.
@@NAKEDGARDENER try granulated organic cane sugar , really cheap at bulk food stores and alot cleaner than blackstrap. Works well for me 🤟
@@microbemania8391 I'm gonna have to give that a go sometime 🤙🏻
Feeds microbes duh
Greetings Pleše tell me what the ratio of vater and vormkasting from above the Plant Thank you
use 3 cups of water in the 5 gallons when prepared with the Molasses
@@Coastofmaine Thanks
Nice video but time is money. Get a air pump. It also helps your good bacteria multiply more vigorously.
Please! Tell me who is doing this amazing music!!!!?? Thx!
Oh! I found it! Thx!
Small air pump & bubblers needs lots of air
Wow It's hard to watch people make this and not understand what it is they are doing and why!
The only time you ever use molasses is without sulfur, suffer is a natural fungicide which fungi is literally what you want in feeding, so by adding the molasses with sulfur you have literally destroyed the good guys while helping propagate the bacteria which is bad.
