Totally disagree with the negative comments. These two men are terrific watercolor artists and both are very talented. They have books and dvds, even art supplies in their name. I have purchased all and love their books, dvds and supplies! One can learn a lot if you open up your minds and enjoy what they have to offer you. Thank you Alvaro and Joseph for sharing!
I love both artists a lot. Two amazing, original artists and great human beings, and that is just amazing how they able to corporate and work together. It is absolutely progressive and they are doing the right thing in our time. Both of them have the absolute knowledge about all the aspects to make visual art with watercolour, however Alvaro is more energetic, playful, challenging and expressive, while Joseph is more careful sophisticated and maximalist, precise and careful at detailing, however he also absolutely knows and uses the benefit of the ‘free flowing’ of the watercolour paint. But not much words can even try to describe the art of them, so lets just wonder again on the beauty of their paintings.
No sé cómo pueden pintar así con acuarela. Con acrílico vale , pero no lo entiendo ... Que son unos genios no cabe duda, pero algunas pinceladas no las consigo explicar . Gracias por compartir
It's not the paper, nor the brushes that makes the painting. Pick any thick paper you like... According to this video ruclips.net/video/81w9PBZOmZ8/видео.html its probably arches watercolor paper.
"Demonstration" is more like "demolition derby!" Highly entertaining and intriguing to see such accomplished painters have a blast like that. When you see what they come up with in the end, let's just say you shouldn't worry too much if you ruin a painting in the beginning.
Alvaro sir and Josaph sir we are fans we love your work, you are inspirational to many watercolour artist.Alvaro sir you made act of spitting water on painting made me hurt...we respect paintings.SOrry.
Come on man!!! Nothing is bad or wrong in art, I have seen an artist making paintings by vomiting colour over large canvases, respecting it is a different thing ,they do respect and you can see where they stand now because of it, it's also a part of our body, DNA or whatever you call it, so relax and enjoy!!
Joseph Zbukvic’s work is a big inspiration for me, the reason I started to paint. I’ve recently started a channel with watercolor demos & lessons. If you’re interested please check it out! 😊
I really wish Castagnet and Zbukvic would stop spitting to amuse the audience (I've seen Castagnet doing it in another Chinese video). It's gross and not funny. I know this is China, but why perpetuate in them the notion that spitting in public is allright?
This is awful to watch. Joseph is forcing himself to paint in Alvaro's style, and Alvaro, unfortunately, knows to "paint" just the same thing. Some cars on the wet road, silhouettes of buildings, forced perspective, all in super dark tones with lots of red / orange splashed around madly. Wherever he goes, Alvaro paints the same, over and over again. For his mad "style" he needs no watercolour: he can paint in acrylics, but the guy terrorises the world of watercolour because naive w/c audience can be milked for more $$.
I totally agree with this remark! He never finishes the painting in front of the very eyes of the audience truly . I think he is afraid that some artists will steal his art and skill. Look at his paintings hung in his studio, do you see the difference in them and the paintings which he finishes in front of the audience? He keeps it unfinished knowingly. No generosity found in him for being a good teacher!
I think perhaps you are taking a too critical eye on him.. he is a brand and he is branding himself. If you don't like his style or methods etc that is fine but a lot of people appreciate his lose broad strokes etc.. I don't mind Alvaro being himself. These guys are masters in their own way. I think in the video where there are the 3 of them then Alvaro was less engaged in making it all his style and just added his touches... it just depends on who is taking the lead and the other(s) adapting to it to really bring out their skills & talent... the painting was really stunning. This painting is also great.. very loose and abstract etc. I don't think one can do too many wet street paintings no more than one can do too many mountain or lake photos.. it all boils down to how masterfully it's done and there is always a buyer wanting it. Alvaro's personality is a bit over the top in this one but he is macho like.. Joseph is a nicer guy but to me that's what makes this interesting.. there is a struggle between them to be the boss and the collaboration is messy but if you look at the little moments when they were fine tuning and actually working together they were able to extract the painting out of the mess.. this is the magic... and if you didn't see it then you missed the demonstration..
This is not a demonstration designed to show watercolour techniques to aspiring artists, it is a comedy performance to entertain the audience. Perhaps that’s what it’s purpose is. I would challenge anyone in the audience to replicate any part of this work, clever tho’ it is. Joseph, what are you doing?
What an awful demo making a mockery of the art of watercolours. Alvaro is highly over-rated with very little variation in his subject matter and style (or the lack of it). No way he is one of the best in the world. Here they have created big muddy blobs trying to fool us that anything a celebrity artist does is 'great'. Then somehow to rescue this mess, he has used the usual 'tricks' - extreme contrast, thick opaque red orange colour to draw vehicles with red lights and shadows. Without a rainy surface and reflection, this would look unbearable. The deluded audience will lap up anything as long as , like some magical illusion, some form gets created out of nothing as if it is some fantastic feat.

me encanta vuestro trabajo por separado pero cuando hacéis el payaso es lamentable
Alvaro sir and Josaph sir we are fans we love your work, you are inspirational to many watercolour artist.Alvaro sir you made act of spitting water on painting made me hurt...we respect paintings.SOrry.
Come on guy....it was funny !!!
Come on! Their DNA is now literally embedded in the painting... priceless!
Joseph adds 'texture' by spitting. I have done a couple of workshops with him. Amazing to watch. Also lucky to own a painting with his DNA spit... lol
@@riverandme3217 if he'd peed it would be even better....come on people, you're overdoing it with this level of admiration.

Increíble, he desperdiciado décadas de años, pude haber vendido cuadros desde los 12 años, hoy seria millonario.
Empieza ahora, a ver si lo consigues
Güzel şov

Prøv at se den, den er sjov og lærerig.
aggressiveness, bullying the paints and paper

I couldn't watch
Why
@@artistanbul Because it is awful !
I felt dizzy of what the videographer is doing. Just be stay in one area , please
Kinda awkward the lack of clapping as they showed the painting...

Someone had to say it. I'm sure the guy can do more, but he always seems to paint that cars on wet road thing... its so bad LOL.
hımm

These live paintings are a show, and Alvaro and Joseph are just giving what the promoters think the people want. There’s nothing wrong with that.
With the first washes... I was wondering what the end result would be!
But then gradually, things started to fall in place.
Amazing demo... brilliant.
Yes! They deserve the legend.

A circus featuring watercolors. Pathetic.
