anyway um,this is a small lore about Violet,The Reactionary's mother about what happened to her, its does connect with the Flower of Ashes, when Amber( The reactionary) have a small flashback about herself as a child, she asked her father when her mother would return
im kinda lazy to do the lizard jumpscare at the end

It never occurred to me that slugcats from different regions could be discriminatory towards each other, but I suppose the possibility of that makes sense considering how human societies have treated each other in the past
I think "in-canon" Slugcats would not be this and this is a case of Overhumanizing Characters. I can state this as the Scavs in game do not engage in any form of infighting (in fact they do not care when Friendly Fire happens often to much hilarity). I think Slugcats would simply lack the population and resource surplus needed for Tribalism to develop as they are desperately trying to simply survive. Either this would have to be an AU where Slugcats are not in as desperate, and there are Regions with Food Surpluses which would cause Tribal Warfare to secure more food and more mates (I.E all Historians are in consensus that any form of Organization required for War would simply be impossible before the invention of fire with Humans, or Agriculture with Ants and Bees). Or Rainworld 2 needs to show some Slugcat Societies where more complex morality can be covered.
@@LEFT4GABENFrom the looks of the animations as a whole, it really does seem like Alternate Fictionality if slugcats were higher on the food chain, a much larger population and have A LOT more resources to spare to the point where they’re basically humans somewhere in the early age where infighting already was a concept to them a while ago. Yeah this definitely one of those!
Oh goody, even racism is a thing that slugcats are familiar with, does kinda makes sense since they all live in separate colonies.

I watched this right when I woke up and still feeling a bit sick, and the whole thing hit me like a spear straight to the heart. Seeing her being pelted with stone and covered with blood, with no one siding with her, the defeated look and stance when she was thrown into the lizard pit. And the scene where The Reactionary asked if her mom is coming back, her dad telling her that she will return soon, that one hits the hardest... Amazing storytelling!
Now I understand that the reactionary is the child of 2 different tribes, with Violet, the mother being from the Sunset Region and the father being from the Decay Suburb. I'm really interested in knowing more about the father now, where is he when the events of Flower of Ashes happened and the rest of the story of The Reactionary in general
if you're pay attention to one small detail from the Flower of ashes when the Wanderer asked The Reactionary about her region, you'll find out the truth of where the reactionary's father is

Summary time.
Violet, the mother of The Reactionary, tries to convince the Sunset tribe to or not to do something with the Decay Suburb. My guess is that Violet is from the Sunset tribe, but had The Reactionary with a member of the Decay Suburb. For one reason or another, the Sunset tribe sees the slugcats of the Decay Suburb as monsters (racism lore). They dislike/hate the Decay Suburb slugcats so much that they are entirely unwilling to listen to whatever Violet has to say, opting to publicly humiliate her with a barrage of stones and then feed her to a lizard that looks to be trapped in a pit (Industrial red lizard flashbacks). Somewhere else, The Reactionary asks her father(?) when her mother will be back, whether he is lying or actually believes his words, he says she will be back soon.
Violet should have just had a hazer stored in her stomach, not that it is likely to do much against a red lizard besides stall. But maybe giving it to the red lizard could have changed the outcome somehow.
Joking aside, this definitely gives more reason as to why The Reactionary did what they did. You certainly are quite good at pulling at my heart strings huh?
