Hi Mark, I've just purchased a 2010 Ducati Multistrada S Touring. My initial thoughts were, "oh no what have I done?".. My 2012 V-Strom DL650a is far superior down low in the rev range. I've only ridden my duke in urban mode, just the two times thus far, so it's not a conclusive amount of time spent. I'm wondering, did you have same initial thought as soon as you test rode the Ducati MTS1200? I've also purchased a slip-on termignoni, still to be fitted, but regretting the purchase as the stock exhaust sounds and looks sweet!
Hey Mark, how was the vibrations on this bike? A lot of people complained about the vibrations. I got the 2012 Tuono with your recommendation last year absolutely loved the bike but now it's time to get back to something sensible. Would you recommend this one?
Hi I had zero issues with vibes on this bike ,so ok it's a booming v twin with tons of character but in terms of annoying vibes felt through the bars and pegs ,I didn't notice any ,I did several long touring trips of 1000 plus miles and it was brilliant ,I'd have another one any day all the best mark
Hi Jake yes would definitely buy this exact bike again as they are great value now . ... didn't have any issues with it and an awesome ride Cheers mark
hi Mark, just bought one of these but haven't ridden it yet as its been delivered home and I'm working out of the country, back monday :]. Just wondering what position you leave the kill switch it to prevent battery drain as there seems to be some confusion out there on this. Regards Rob
+Robert Barden Hi rob yes leave it in the UP position ..but ive left it now and again in the down position for a few days and the bike still started fine regards mark
Budget Bucket List Cars And Bikes hi yes it's for the Garmin GPS sorry don't know how much as it was on the bike when I bought it ,it will be hard wired somewhere into the bike ,all the best mark
Hi Mark, Thanks for the video. I bought a 2011 MTS1200S Touring at the end of Feb - completely love it! I was wondering how you were getting on with yours? I had to have the fork seals done and gear shift return spring done (very expensive repair to fit a £3 part) within 500 miles of getting it, but now had another 3000 miles without issue.
Thank you for your prompt reply and advise. We have common friends with him and as they said to me he already did 2 times desmo maintenance at official dealer of ducati and also regular oil and filter changes. But my main doubt is electronics after 7 years of ride will work in the same conditions ?
Good review 👍 . i have read some quite poor reviews on reliability , which is sort of putting me off buying a used bike. Have you had any issues with yours , and was you in the same mind set before you purchased your bike.
Hi mate great review I’m thinking of getting a 2010 model for touring next year Have you still got yours and have you had any problems with it to date Cheers Steve
Always said this was pretty much the perfect bike for me next, got a 650 vstrom on a restricted license for the last 2 years and just got my full license so looking for something a bit quicker. Been looking very seriously at the '16 Triumph tiger sport, which is great and I'm sure I'll love it (have yet to test ride) but I think the Ducati is just perfect. Only thing is I was never sure about reliability and the prices were always a bit too much, but recently these original models have come down in price and they're a lot more readily available. It's all gonna depend on the test ride because both bikes are similar in price (there are cheaper Ducati's but I'm looking for slightly lower milages to be on the safe side). I know both will have plenty of power, but they've both got very different yet distinct engines which are loved by fans, can't wait to get out on them, just hoping for some decent weather which is looking a bit scarce :(
Hey Mark, thanks for the video, lovely bike indeed! I've been considering to get a secondhand 2010 model just like yours, but I've heard from quite a few sources that they're prone to having many problems, particularly with the electronics. Can I ask how's your bike been for you? Any issues, having owned it for more than a year now?
HI shing, its been totaly reliable, remember you only hear about the few people who have problems and not the hundreds that dont,..ducati reliability is much better since about 09 onwards ...definately go for one they are very affordable now all the best mark
Nice one Mark, I have a 2012 white one like yours , love it to bits, feels like a naughty girlfriend , called her Anastasia cos she’s loud , strong , takes no shit, and looks gorgeous. Can stay with my superbike mates , and kick ass in the twisters . Am in South Africa, cops not much use here , so regularly run her to 235kmph just for shits and giggles, but the best part is the insane acceleration
What is your official currency? British Pound or Euro? Trying to convert what you paid for your MTS into Canadian Dollars... You say 'Pounds' in your video, but when I convert £9000 into CAD, it is over $17000. For a five year old??? That doesn't sound right... Euro seems to make more sense.
GrandpaBambu Hi again ,yes its british pounds ,when I bought the bike it was just over four years old ,in mint condition with only 5k miles also came with a sat nav and the £8900 I paid was pretty much right ,dealers were wanting 10 k for the same bike ,these are pretty expensive bikes ..happy riding mark
mark pulling Something not quite right there Mark... £8,900 (GBP) is equivalent to $17,000 (CND). One could have a new 2015 MTS 1200 for $19,000 (CND).
mark pulling You mention that a new MTS in Britain would sell for £16,000. That is the equivalent of $30,600 (CND). A new 2015 MTS S Touring in Canada, has a price tag of $22,000. Wow, quite a difference!
+mark pulling... I've looked into the price difference. Apparently auto prices in the UK are generally higher than in Canada... Didn't know this until now.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder,, sadly to me ,,that beak or big plastic thing sticking out under the headlights, is a hideous ugly monstrosity,, to my eye, and would be better to say what your inside leg measurements are instead of your height,, I’m 5ft10 31 inch inside leg my mate who is 6tf 2 has the same leg measurement,,so it appears this measurement is more important than your height ,, great 👍 review as usual,, cheers Shane uk 🇬🇧

Hi Jake yes would definitely buy this exact bike again as they are great value now . ... didn't have any issues with it and an awesome ride

Is 4.8k for electronic suspension sport version a good deal? No boxes 20k miles and desmo done
@@jakedickson697 hi Jake yes that's a good price with the belt service done ...maybe knock down a bit to allow for some boxes
Jake Dickson 4.8k with desmo service is a steal for this bike

I'm thinking to buy a 2010 1200s MTS at 62.000 KM. What do you think, 62k is ok for this bike ?
Canavay I would say fine just make sure it's had all its services and belt changes and make sure everything works before you buy thanks mark
