    14mm 17mm socket , 9/16 wrench, grease, wire brush, C-clamp, digital caliper..check

    Thanks for the great video. I just finished my brakes. It was nice not having to walk back and forth several times to figure out I needed a 14mm and 17mm socket, and a 9/16” wrench!

    Great video man! Camera angle is great to clearly see your work. Definitely gonna follow along when I need to change brakes. Did you get ceramic or metallic pads? How thin before you need to change the rotors?

    • @OilandGears
      @OilandGears  4 года назад

      Thanks for watching! I have the link for the Wagner brakes which are ceramic in the description. The rotors are stamped with the minimum thickness, a simple digital caliper helps.

    If you're finding yourself having to squeeze the caliper pin back in, you prolly should pull it back out and clean out the bracket. Slide pins should slide almost effortlessly.

    Got a question for you sir, would i be needing to open the brake fluid cap by the engine area or no? Im guessing thats only if im changing the brake fluid correct? Thanks for your help!!

      Hello! No, you will not need to open the cap unless you are draining or filling the reservoir.

    How important is it to put grease in all the areas u applied it? Will it be ok if i dont use any grease? And what areas is grease most necessary?

    • @OilandGears
      @OilandGears  2 года назад +1

      It's important to add grease because you don't want your brakes to lock up. The areas I added it to are important.

      You may want to check if there is any debris that's in the brake pad or if your rotors that need to be changed.

    How did u get the piston to go back so easy

    • @OilandGears
      @OilandGears  3 года назад +1

      Use a C clamp with a flat surface like a piece of wood and squeeze the piston back. It should be fairly easy to move.

  • @miked373
    @miked373 Год назад +1

    Easy...but you didn't use a torque wrench for ANYTHING.

    • @CoachBaileyCooper

      Isn't the piston screw in instead push (press)

    • @OilandGears
      @OilandGears  2 года назад

      The piston needs to be pushed in so that it fits with the new brakes. When you apply the brakes it presses the brakes towards the rotor.
