Guess the spider thought it was a wraith.... lol... sorry couldn't resist....THanks for the update I look forward to seeing this bad boy when it's done. It sure takes time and $$ doesn't it? Well Done
+RcNickster HAhaha! I loved that joke! And yes i certainly dose. It also dose not help that i have a set idea of how i want it to look. That the price of something wont turn me away. Ill simply just wait till i can afford it! Haha
Regarding a brushless system, the Hobbywing Justock ESC is very good, it's not waterproof out the box but it's easily dissembled so you can coat the boards in Plastidip. For a brushless motor, I've been running a Vampire Racing 21.5t with a high torque rotor, I've also dissembled it and coated the sensor board in Plastidip. This setup is working great for me and not that expensive either.
I'm not sure how you mounted the tires but you need to install the outer bead to the wheel face (front ring) then install it to the tire. The 4 or 5 larger bolts on the rear is what holds the bead one. If you went around and installed the 26+ screws on the wheel face to seat the bead you did it the much much tougher way. I just installed some 1.9 KMC's on Pro-Lines and they were a pain.
Looks good matt! I used rare earth magnets to mount the body on mine, I epoxied then to a cutoff stock body mount and glued them to the body on the front and for the back I just used the spare mount to hold the rear of the body where the spare holder holds the cage and it works great and no holes in the body
RC Overload hey man I just got the SSD D60 axles and did a quick unpackaging and working a sort of install video and was wondering why you didn't cover these more?
It something i want to do later on. however the video was getting long enough and i dont want to give information i dont know yet. i want to be able to test them out fully before going more in depth with them. I already herd when they came out some people were having issues with them as well.
I always had better luck with brushed systems in my scale rc's, the Tekin 35t combo is a good system. Cant wait to see the finish product, looking good so far Mr. Overload.
hi, great video. I personally would recommend a brushless motor low kv ( senserless motor ) running a 3s lipo. Because most don't know brushless motors are water resistant, already. Censored brushless motors are NOT water resistant. The open censored portion of the brushless motor. I recommend Turnigy Trackstar 1/10 17.0T 2400KV Brushless from Hobby King and 45 or 60amp esc. Hope this helps..
make sure you use lock tight on those punisher shafts on the little tiny bolts on the u joint I lost them already and I had used blue lock tight they still fell off
if I want to buy a RTR Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Axial SCX10 what would be the top 5 or top 10 upgrades I need to take care immediately? BTW new to this cool hobby and love your videos! Excelent and entertained way to explain how to upgrade your rig. Congrats!
Great Video. I'm trying to get back into the hobby after about 4 years. I have a tamiya high lift that I've had for years, but that truck is difficult to work on. I also just bought me the axail power wagon and I am looking to upgrading it as well. Any tips for those of us coming back into the hobby?
+Brian Casey what kind of tips are you looking for? and welcome back brian! its good to see people getting back into the hobby again! so much changes over such a short period of time!
Ok thanks man keep up the very nice work oh if you go to ssd rc or rpp hobby their is a nice lookinng SSD RC bumper hope you like it for your nice looking scale rig
+RCMechanic Thanks man, yes most definitely! I have a few other projects to take care of before attending to this one but hopefully ill have some new videos up soon.
Hey Matt what shock size do you prefer I know you had 90mm hot racing and now have king shocks 100mm. I'm debating which size of shock to go too I do more rock crawling than trailing so I would like to know what would be better?
+MrSlapYa It fits exactly the same. only difference is these shocks are a tiny bit taller. otherwise everything works the same and it gives you a slightly higher ride height and more flex
Matt what did you use to make the king shocks work, I recently got mine and now they just fit a little different. And they make the shock tower stick out/ pulls it out to the outside of the truck
+darkriverracing22 Haha...Yes i do apologize about that. I got that from Knights Customs on Shapeways he sells the mount that attaches right to the battery tray. Its very easy to install. Ill go over more in depth of each part as the series unfolds.
+Cooldibs depends on the ESC and motor your running. For safety sake I run a 800MAH 3s Lipo straight to the light bar. that way im not causing any excessive drain on the battery and i get a longer run time.
+Braden Wiseman I would highly recommend it! Just be warned its very likely that you will need to do some upgrading. Their are some weak points to it. But heck....Dont most people upgrade their trucks anyways! Haha :)
+Michael Gustavson (oOSYRUSOo) Im looking at re using my old Rampage bumper. I wanted a stinger set up however i haven't come across one that looks how i want it yet.
+RC Overload o ok, I was just wondering because I've watched all your scx10 videos and they have been very helpful on some ideas on what I want to do when I get mine
im not a brushless guy so i am no help lol. but i would stay brushed and go with Homes Hobbies BR-XL esc (NON WATERPROOF) you can do the waterproofing your self and for motor i would suggest the Holmes Hobbies CrawlMaster Pro 20t (you can get it in lower turn) now another thing is if your make your order as combo you can get discount here is link to combo set up holmeshobbies.com/pconf.php?productid=574
+RC Overload i just bought a combo last week and this time went with a cheaper motor for the toyota pick up the motor i choose was the Torquemaster Sport 30t its on sale for 25 bucks and if purchased through combo deal it takes a further 10% off the already sale price here is link to motor i just purchased holmeshobbies.com/Holmes-Hobbies-TorqueMaster-Sport-540-30t-SALE.html
+Blackeyecrow13 That is actully the Nights custom battery mount. You can find it here - www.shapeways.com/product/Z2GWTPJX4/aj10002-jeep-rubicon-front-battery-mount-scx10?li=shop-results&optionId=57120883

I have those new SSD axles housing coming today. Cant wait to see how they look.
+Robert Walker OOOOOOOO I cant wait to get my hands on them! They look incredible!
Amazing. Looking forward for some action videos on this rig! Cheers Jones
+RC SwedenJones Thanks Man! I am to...Ha Hopefully it will be running soon!
sweet looking jeep.can;t wait for the full review about it..thumb up!

thats a great idea may half to try that!

RC Overload gotcha, good point sir, I look forward to your opinion on them.
I always had better luck with brushed systems in my scale rc's, the Tekin 35t combo is a good system. Cant wait to see the finish product, looking good so far Mr. Overload.
+Darin Sroka Thanks Darin! Ive had a lot of good luck with my old Tekin 35T.

I personally run a overall gear ratio of 35.8 to 1 in my Wraith. With a 4000kv sensored brushless motor on 3s lipo.
+Gear Ratio Head RC Thanks for that great info! I really appreciate it!
+RC Overload I've been seeing low kv 4 pole motors on Ebay going for less than $30 including shipping. most common 3000kv 4 pole non sensored
That is going to look great!
+TOJO RC Thanks Tojo. Definitely one killer looking Jeep!
Nice job it looks so awesome can't wait for more updates.I would recommend a tekin roc412 but u would have to waterproof it
make sure you use lock tight on those punisher shafts on the little tiny bolts on the u joint I lost them already and I had used blue lock tight they still fell off
+Mike Oneill Yup already put some on. had plenty of bad times like that in the past. Haha
RC Overload there is nothing worse than having your day cut short because of something as tiny as a driveshaft setscrew!
I have the Atomik Red 120A sensored brushless system in my scx10, with the program box it's easy to setup for crawling, but it's not waterproof.
+Devolution RC Ok cool thanks for the idea man!
Very nice Jeep !
+ScaleX thank you!
The tekin craller system is great but a bit more expensive than most brushless systems

Have you done anymore to it? Hope to see some more videos soon! Love it!
+Joe Underwood Yes ive done a few thing so far im going to be filming some more of the upgrades soon. I promise! ;)

+My RC Tribe Thanks man! Definitly more to come in the future! Little at a time! ;)
mr.overload i was gonna tell if you can tell me the part number and the web site thank you nice ride keep up the good work man
+Rc Boy I actually bought those shafts on the RC4WD Ebay site. However if you go to RC4WD.com They will have those shafts listed for the SCX10
Ok thanks man keep up the very nice work oh if you go to ssd rc or rpp hobby their is a nice lookinng SSD RC bumper hope you like it for your nice looking scale rig
i like it. i am running 90mm kings. 2.2s. that rig would fit 2.2s well. though i know not scale.
+Quak Rc Yes it would definitly fit 2.2 very nicely however scale looks not so much...Haha
+RC Overload yea. for sure NOT scale
Awesome Build!! Where did you get the Rubicon Decal for the hood?
Nice Jeep man! Wonder that where did you get the battery mount ? You were distracting by that spider.. LoL
Cool truck! You have really nice upgrades on it, SCX10's just keep going.
I'll be following your project, subbed!
+RCMechanic Thanks man, yes most definitely! I have a few other projects to take care of before attending to this one but hopefully ill have some new videos up soon.
Where did you buyed that antenna? Your Jeep looks great!

Haha no worrys man.
Swwweeeet !! I love it.
Hey Matt what shock size do you prefer I know you had 90mm hot racing and now have king shocks 100mm. I'm debating which size of shock to go too I do more rock crawling than trailing so I would like to know what would be better?
vary good!!
Beautiful project.
Where did you get the antena from ?
+Carlos Cabrera RC4WD I belive...lol It was so long ago i couldn't remember specifically.
What about the back light buckets
awesome ! Quick question, when you get the bigger shocks (like yours), do you need to order any extra mounting parts or does it fit on the stock?
+MrSlapYa It fits exactly the same. only difference is these shocks are a tiny bit taller. otherwise everything works the same and it gives you a slightly higher ride height and more flex
dude, you need the SSD D60 axle housings on that...
+Nick Ohrman Just got my hand on them actully! ;) Video out soon on them! :)
Nice work so far, keep it up :)
+David Fraser Thanks David! Long road a head with this guy! :)
Put a brushed motor as it has more torque. Brushless has more top end speed. Put a 550 or better 1
Very cool👍
Nice build ! Question what type of shock oil did you use on the king shocks ?
I believe i am using 10WT
Thanks !!
I thought about using 30wt since my truck has a lot of aluminum parts. My truck is pretty heavy.
Matt, I'm having a hard time finding the body you used in this video. Can you tell me where I can find it.?
+Arney_25 this is the stock Axial SCX10 jeep wrangler body. If you go to Axialracing.com it should list a part number for ya.
Hey thanks man!
Matt what did you use to make the king shocks work, I recently got mine and now they just fit a little different. And they make the shock tower stick out/ pulls it out to the outside of the truck
how exactly did you mount the battery tray up front? You started to tell us and then SPIDER!!!
+darkriverracing22 Haha...Yes i do apologize about that. I got that from Knights Customs on Shapeways he sells the mount that attaches right to the battery tray. Its very easy to install. Ill go over more in depth of each part as the series unfolds.
Can you send me a link for the blue color that you used ?
Its just Tamiya blue. i dont remember the number.
Hi have you still got the pdf instructions for the grill
cool
sehr gut !
Also if I run a 3s lipo and run that light bar do I need a bec for it, thanks
+Cooldibs depends on the ESC and motor your running. For safety sake I run a 800MAH 3s Lipo straight to the light bar. that way im not causing any excessive drain on the battery and i get a longer run time.
my version of ASAP= AS SCALE AS POSSIBLE
Tekin 35-45t motor with tekin for combo!
+Cooldibs Love Tekin! ;)

Awesome!
+Z.A.K. RC Thanks man!

Would you recommend the yeti?❓ watched all of your vids
+Braden Wiseman I would highly recommend it! Just be warned its very likely that you will need to do some upgrading. Their are some weak points to it. But heck....Dont most people upgrade their trucks anyways! Haha :)

+RC Overload o ok, I was just wondering because I've watched all your scx10 videos and they have been very helpful on some ideas on what I want to do when I get mine
Hey Matt do you like your new rear jk bumper? Looks sick but does it get hung up on rocks or just about the same as stock?
+Lil Conan hey man, i love that bumper and honestly i haven't run into any issues with this setup.
