Wow man, thank you for all these great interviews with all these great Quake legends! Hope you going to do more, maybe one with Immortal? Great stuff from Makaveli, and he has such a deep voice :)
Hey Thorin, as someone who has no idea who these people are, I really enjoy their interviews. It's a cool glimpse into the past that I had no idea existed. Keep em up!
Awesome interview. Makaveli was a true great of the late golden age of Quake 2. Peak Makaveli (99-2000) would have annihilated peak Thresh (98) since the game had moved on incredibly since he retired. Although Purri and Damiah Q2 took duelling to a totally higher level years later.
I used to play on Jade Garden back in the days when k9 members were all playing on there. I miss those days! I remember playing 1v1. I wish I could bring those days back!
Dennis = Thresh Kurt = Immortal It was a bit difficult to follow the interview at first because interviewee was using names I wasn't used to, so maybe when you do more of these could you make sure to remind us who's who?
I started playing Q2 when I was 13 years old, in 1999. You are filling the gaps, within the stories of my life! Thank you! Makaveli, sounds like a great guy!
I get a lot of inspiration for improving my own game listing to this episode of reflections. I also very much enjoy hearing hearing all of the history.
Duncan, you should give a call to Ola Moum aka Element to make a Reflections episode. He used to be one of the most interesting dudes around in the esports scene. It would be cool to hear his opions as an outsider and making comparations with back then in the early years and now.
Maka remember smoking out on sat of one of those old CPL tournaments think maybe babbages CPL. Now all of Texas is flat just Dallas!!!!maybe it was frag 3 never forget you versus immortal q2 in match1 map sorry you didn't win that one dude I've still got recordings from back in the day ...do remem our 4v4 woopin your ass they were reallying to much on u .....how did counterstrike go from some little tourney to take down q3..... Did you ever beat immortal or fatality but you vs immortal at I think razer CPL damn I miss those days
Anyway, I'd say the machine gun issue was mostly fixed in quake live, as it deals only 5 hp of damage, instead of 7. You don't get many machine gun frags in quake live; you also don't get nearly as many spawn frags as in q3, thanks to the better respawn system.
Good interview. I have no insight about video making but you can insert some short videos related to the interview. There might be many volunteers at esreality community to help on that. We are old idd.
having never herd of "Makaveli" before i must say he seems like a great guy! and also theese last Reflections have been really entertaining and enlightening! mad propps and keep the god job up
+SaftKalasEmil Yeah, its worth pointing out though that he was alot more cocky when he was younger. He has matured alot since then, its a nice thing to see.
I love the little fanboy inside Thooorin with the old Quake guys :D
It's about time thoorin released another video. I'm addicted to this. Need to start some more e-sport drama.
Damn Makaveli's voice drops the bass.

The dad waking him up to play is priceless... i laughed my ass off...
Thoorin, the end of the video was kind of shap... no last words?
Come with me, Hail Mary, nigga run quick see
+Gavin Cole I honestly thought this video was going to be about 2 white guys reminiscing about Makaveli The Don Killuminati : The 7 Day Theory. lol
Get Rapha on, the Z4 connection and his dominance in lieu of incredible aim should make a good story.
Dat ain't Tupac

I remember makaveli from netquake, before Quake 2. He was badass in Netquake. I wish they would have talked about that.
Thoroughly enjoyed the interview. well done. makaveli is well spoken and Thorin is a very good interviewer.
This guy is like a subwoofer inside my head.
makaveli x shub on q2dm1 where he made the comeback is a fantastic game, I learned so much from it
just played some chill quake games with my friends but thorin vids always worth a watch
If you take your current age and divide by 2 and then multiply by 2 you get the total amount of years you have lived
My Beats by dre couldnt handle it bruh
WTF Maka's Voice! Holy crap sounds different.
01:05:43 is he serious? Timing 4 items to the seconds while fighting?
zerO4 lost to 4Revenant on dm6 badly @razorcpl
This didn't come up in my sub box -.-
I should have seen this coming :)
Good old times! Very interesting.
This brought me memories of watching Quake 2 demos of Memento Mori, shubnigga, Blue, DarK and godlike players like them.. oh god the feels.
