      Think of this:
This system being the connecting joints of every muscle structures of a humanoid body. A Magnesium alloy skeletal body PEO'd and inside the skeletal body a Ryden dual carbon batteries powering the servo motors while each one of the wiring of the drives are safely tucked inside the skeletal system with cooling fluid system running outside of each PEO Magnesium alloy bone.
Ofcourse adapting to limitations of movements but nonetheless applicable to BioRobotics.

First, it has no bearing on the project as he wasn't trying to make a realistic hand.
Second, it's a myth that has been debunked a million times. Some robots just try to look real and do a bad job of it. Other robots don't try to look realistic. Some robots try to look realistic and do a good job. Which robots fall into what category is entirely subjective as well.

Truly amazing. Out of curiosity, I wonder if you could do this using more mechanical parts/motion vs separately controlled motors. Meaning an array of gears that attach to only a central motor that could control all motion off all fingers. Since the movement is repetitive and follows a distinct pattern I thought maybe an array of well designed gears could offer similar movement. Of course, this probably wouldn't be as smooth like this, i.e. butter. Just thinking out loud, if you could do this, then you could make it way cheaper, reduce any software code to pretty much zero, and easier for people at home to 3d print/make. In general, this is awesome and I love the concept!

I've met Mark a few times at Robot Wars & BattleBots, and he is an incredible person. Super smart, but not at all condescending. Always happy to explain a concept. The robots he brought were works of art and moved in amazing ways. I'll never forget the linear controller he had made for the snake robot, but I'll also never forget that he could somehow also control it just as well with four 2-axis joysticks. His brain has some kind of mapping layer between what he sees in his mind's eye and how the robot should move, and the way his fingers moved simultaneously on the 4 joysticks was nothing short of mind boggling. This video was a great deep-dive in the beautiful Axis robot which is genius. Thanks Mark, Norm, and Tested!

This guy needs to work with robotic limbs experts on arms, legs, hands and feet for amputees. Can you imagine being able to hold and manipulate an apple or other objects with a robotic hand? It would really up the game for those with disabilities.

That is awesome, I never thought about a setup like this...could also work for my Spherical Parallel Manipulator!

Mark’s gift for communication is as impressive as his gift for art and robotics! I could nod my head all throughout this interview because of the way he communicates. Great video!

I just emailed Mark, I have had robotic ideas that seemed unattainable, until just now seeing this video. I would love to intern,help/colab and work with him as I need his help making my dreams come true.

I have to wonder if you could do a version of this where you use the fewest moving parts possible, like the curve of the joints handle the 'pass along' motion through a back-and-forth motion without the extra rotational servos.

How was this programmed? I have never seen cycling 74 MAX. It seems like a really cool piece of software. all the examples use it with audio
