    Phoenix PD should be mandated by the DOJ to undergo monitoring for compliance and not given a choice in the matter. And the kid who called the cop 'stupid'.... he's not wrong.

    Yes, anyone that has lived in Phoenix longer than 1 year, is very aware of the corrupt behavior of our out of control PD. I can't imagine how vulnerable our behavioral impaired are. Being a policeman is a very demanding job, and REQUIRES good training, good judgement. There is a decades long disconnect.

      It's a long term permanent disconnect. Look up the history of policing. They have always represented the control class against common people. They started as slave catchers and factory worker uprising squelchers. The whole institution needs to be abolished and replaced by something different and better.

      I lived here since 2018 and I stay out the way and tend to my family and have never had 1 single issue with the Phoenix PD. They aren’t perfect no is but they are needed

    Had a patient tell me another East valley department fined and arrested them for attempting suicide and never got them appropriate treatment. Absolutely abhorrent.

    According to the University of Illinois:
    "In the U.S. during a given year, an estimated 1 million civilians experience police threat of or use of force resulting in a conservative estimate of 75,000 non-fatal injuries requiring hospital treatment and 600-1000 deaths. " No doubt these include people who need help and not harm.

    Use of excessive force isn't just a problem in the Phoenix PD. It's an epidemic all over this country. The police have been militarized, and now typically view all citizens as "the enemy".

    Made the mistake of calling the Phoenix police once for family member having mental health crisis. NEVER do it! When someone is experiencing paranoia, the last thing you need is a bully going hands on. I guess they were fearful of a 90lb girl in pajamas!

    The DOJ needs to completely strip Amazon of the power and assign a specal to oversee and make all decisions, be in charge of cleaning house and rehiring and training. Starting furst wity removing all deparment heads, cheifs and 2nd in command. Then re interviews and check backgrounds for all the candidates applying and involed in the interview process. Its been long enough now of continued violations and serious injuries to the members of the public.
