Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full in His wonderful face, And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, In the light of His glory and grace. His Word shall not fail you-He promised; Believe Him, and all will be well: Then go to a world that is dying, His perfect salvation to tell!
Yes. But it doesn’t say that we should love the things in this less. It says that we shouldn’t love the things of the world at all. James also tells us this. “Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.” James 1:27 We are not of the world JUST like Christ wasn’t of the world. “They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.” John 17:16 Did He have any love of the things of the world? No. And neither should we. I fear that too many a good preacher these days is compromising on the Word because the church has long ago compromised with the world. But God calls us to come out of it and be holy, separate unto HIM. “Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, “I will dwell in them and walk among them; And I will be their God, and they shall be My people. Therefore, come out from their midst and be separate,” says the Lord. “And do not touch what is unclean; And I will welcome you. And I will be a father to you, And you shall be sons and daughters to Me,” Says the Lord Almighty.” 2 Corinthians 6:16-18 I’m trusting what the Lord says and breaking away from this wicked and perverse generation.
Wow... Underated clip!
Conrad is an amazing pastor. I love his gentle but assertive style - you see a lot of jesus in him.
Oh very true..
Very true. Justin Peters has that good balance, too.
Turn your eyes upon Jesus ‼️
wow, what a blessing!
wonderfully explained! ;)
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.
His Word shall not fail you-He promised;
Believe Him, and all will be well:
Then go to a world that is dying,
His perfect salvation to tell!
