@jaywater...its NOT perfect because it IS IMPOSSIBLE so its pretty easy to figure out it had to be something with the phone call
As an Android user, sadly we're left in the dark. I wish he would make the app for Android users as well.
Diverter is awesome! But if you are stuck on Android, there is The Stranger app by Jonathan Levit. Its much more expensive but also has some other cool features as well. Personally, I prefer Diverter and it integrates with other apps as well, but like I said if you need an Android version. It is totally worth switching to iPhone just for all the incredible magic apps.

Hey Lloyd, Love all your tricks. Except this one. I believe in old school dealing with the cards and not using an iPhone during a trick because to me that takes a lot of the trick away using technology. It’s also more difficult or more involved using the technology. And as I’ve said, in the past your ability to break things down and teach the trick in terms easy enough to be understood. However, Lloyd, you really could use some lighting. No I know that your new place he has lighting but I don’t know if you’re in your new place your place or where you’re at but lighting is a big big issue is hard to identify what you’re doing and the cards.
Too bad I have Android but this is an amazing effect I've been in magic for 10 years now and I've never heard of this effect before. 🤯

I actually figured out the method before it was revealed. I didn't know for sure, but I genuinely couldn't think of any other way to pull this trick off like that

Lol - I thought you were calling the app the Dai Vern app (as in Dai Vernon) I finally saw it was the Divert app. 😃
The only problem I have with this is "Mark" being a stooge is the ONLY explanation for this. I didn't know HOW he was a stooge exactly, but I knew he was a stooge. Nice way to do a stooge trick though.

I figured the phone was the secret from the start. It seems that any trick using a cell phone is using an App.
The App should maybe be renamed to DaiVerter 😀

It will be difficult to find a sales man that could better your pitch - though you are not selling it. This App will be excellent if it was connected to a voice-gen AI Server. Then the 'person' at the other end could be simulated as a random 'person'.

@@LloydB Acaan always hope, but there are only a few exceptions (like yourself) when it comes to people willing to develop for android, which blows my mind given that it's cheaper to develop for, without the devkit costs involved.

Great video. I’m a user of Marcs apps and will most likely use diverter soon. However i do have the stranger and I don’t pay $199 a year. Work fine for just this call trick. and no one has ever called me out on the design. There’s a lot more that you get with the stranger so just like diverte, don’t knock it till you try it. ;)

IMO, the one problem with this sort of trick is that it's too good. The deck being sealed in the box the whole time leads you to be pretty easily able to conclude that the phone *must* have been messed with.
I feel like the trick would actually work better if you handled the cards a little bit more, just to make it plausible it could have been some sort of sleight of hand, and making the phone then seem less suspicious.
Yes yes yes! You make a great point here! Sometimes ifs important to lay some traps and red herrings to lead them off the scent and tie themselves in knots.

The Stranger has a version for $69 USD that allows a user to reveal a playing card, or anything else they would like, anywhere, at any time, without the need of a friend or confederate. He also has an upgraded version that is $149 USD, as a one time fee, and not a subscription, that allows you to call any person from your contacts, or within the global Stranger community. The $199 USD subscription is for the Pro version which offers even more possibilities.
