Since you share so much, I'll share the only card trick I know. It may sound dumb, but it works. And it's so simple. (probably one of the oldest tricks in the book) As you shuffle and cut the deck a lot look at (secretly peek at) and remember the bottom card and keep it down there as you continue to shuffle a few more times. This is my version. The known card is on the bottom so ask the person to try and cut the deck exactly ten (arbitrary number) from the bottom. This gets them involved from the start. Then count how many they got from the bottom half stacking each card on top. Make a big deal of how close they were. Then get them to flip the top card over (that was the bottom card from the beginning) and remember it and put it back in the deck and shuffle as much as they want. (this is usually where they start to look in wonder because they have always held the deck). Then recall the number of cards they cut and flip the cards face up in piles of that number. At this point you'll know where their card is. All this could be done by them (and the amazement factor goes way up). Then tell them the next card you flip over is theirs and flip the card that was on the bottom from the very start. They're always amazed at how it was done. The number of cards cut from the bottom and the piles of that same number are all distractions. I doubt anyone will ever read this, but for those who do get a free trick that is really cool!
Your instructions work placing the target card at position 9 where it should be. You should never have mentioned position 11 because that is wrong. I do like your stuff!
I love this! But here’s what I would do to eliminate any possibility of them mentally selecting one of the cards that shouldn’t be chosen: I would give them 10 cards the same process you use. Say, “is that enough?” And as I do that I spread out 10 cards myself. “Great. Here’s what I want you to do with YOUR cards.” You pick up the 10 you have a break at, throw the rest of the cards, and spread the 10 in front of you fully and have them mentally select one in theirs. Basically demonstrating exactly what you want them to do. After they do so, casually give your cards to them to be put on top of their pile. Then continue on with the rest of the routine.
This effect is definitely a show stopper. The method is so well hidden within effect no one would think of the solution. Awesome !!! I could see this killing with a couple for example.
That reaction "that's really good' is is such an underwelming reaction. For me, didnt see the trick, it is a woooow. This is the best trick i have ever seen.
For me, magic exist too ! I got the same thoughts about magic as you... I don't think that magic is dead... Magic is an experience. A moment when everything is possible. If you see a miracle that you thought it was impossible one second ago, then everything is possible... Us, magicians, have to create that moment, to see the magic... That's why I love magic, it allows people to dream again, to get them out of their maybe sad day, for just a moment... And that is the true magic !

Hi Lloyd, congratulations on 10,000, I'm happy to be 10,207 or wherever I landed. Your definition of magic is 100% on the money and the reason I perform. Thank you for the extended breakdown. I'm a huge fan of tricks based on older concepts (harder for spectators to look up online as you perform). My only issue is that I frequently perform for people who will not pick within the bottom 10 (first 10 facing them). At least 50% of the time they will go much deeper and I don't want to artificially constrain them. This doesn't matter if you know that their card is closer to the top of the pack; the method they use to count will put their card in position 10-19 (if their card is in the first 9 cards, have them turn the packet face up and count that way, their card moves to the bottom half). The problem is knowing which half their card is in and, therefore, how to have them count. My only solution is to have them shuffle the 20 cards, set them on the table and then cut to a card. You can then visually see which half and therefore how they should count. The thing is I really love letting them spread and look through the cards, much higher emotional investment in their selection (tell them to find one that calls to them, etc.). Heightens the payoff after using the "manifesting" plot. I'd love your thoughts.

I hope you don't mind me leaving another self-working, addon idea to your already superb, brilliant effect... Maybe a 'Faith vs Belief' narrative for a potential, requested repeat of this effect - it uses a gem of a principle you might be familiar with already - thought I'd share for fun. Perform the trick as usual up to the point where you have the specs card in the ninth position and you are about to do the 'I believe' elimination process. Instead of going into the elimination/reveal bit - first, casually shuffle two cards from top of facedown pack to the bottom. Get the the spec to deal nine cards facedown one at a time off the top of the facedown pack on to the table (Note, the casual 2- card shuffle tweak now puts the selection 3rd from the top of this new, nine-card, packet on the table). Now get the spec to pick up the facedown packet of nine cards, and spell the name of their card - starting with the value - one card per letter, facedown, onto the table. Drop the remainder of the nine-card packet, facedown on top of these few cards spelling the value. The spec picks up this facedown nine-card packet again, and deals two cards the same way, spelling each letter for 'OF' onto the table. Drop remaining cards on top. Pick up 9-card pile again and spell the suit of named card the same way. Drop remaining facedown packet of the nine. Lastly, pick up facedown packet of nine for the reveal. Simply have spec spell one card for each letter of the word 'FAITH' - the card arrived at will be their card! Not sure to this day, who actually created this nine card principle - seen it as a lie detector trick years ago anyway, hope this might be of some use or inspiration - all the best to you and your channel Lloyd!

Great thinking for this principle. But the card isn't in the 11th position down before the "manifesting" starts. It is the card that remains but it's not in the 11th position down.

I definitely subscribed to this channel after seeing one trick that he invented. It is like a spin off of "Fool Us Penn and Teller." Their idea is like: "Fool My Wife." He show her a card trick and she tries to figure the trick. Then he teach how the trick is done. Stumbled on the channel after surfing RUclips. He creates pretty good card tricks.
Another great tutorial! One question (and maybe you mentioned this and I missed it?) What do you do if they think of one of the cards between 1 and 11 from the top?
Unfortunately if they do that the trick wont work. Which is why he says when you instruct them to pick out a card, you hold your hands together really close and mimic to them to keep the deck tight. That way they (hopefully) pick from the bottom 11 cards, which to them would be the top 11 cards
i learned some of this from Moes Miracles1935 my version is i thumb through the deck faces spectators and ask them the think of a card they see.....they blink or say OK and thats where my break is....I rarely ever have to fish bc I worked behind the bar for 3 years practicing this ... when I place the card into their hands 19 times out of 20 its their card I NEVER EVER PRE-FISH NO QUESTIONS OR DIRECT STATEMENTS if im wrong someone else claims its the card THEY thought of. ive already did the bottom change and its in her hand after asking her to look at her card and she tells me what was,,,,,,,,,sometimes i just blow on the card and it seems to change to her card after I blew on it IVE WORKED OUT DOZENS of ways out that ALL appear as I knew it all along.....there is always the smart ass that remembers the BOTTOM card which i have a duplicate in a card case on the bar .....BAM

work this out. spec chooses 5 cards. mixes them up. peeks at the bottom card and then mixes them up so she doesnt know the position of her cards and places them fd in her pocket. she chooses four cards one at a time and hands them to you. you show her and these 4 are the same 4 she picked but hers is not hers. the final card in her pocket os the same one she peeked at which was shuffled and randomized before and after she looked

Great thinking for this principle. But the card isn't in the 11th position down before the "manifesting" starts. It is the card that remains but it's not in the 11th position down.

This was actually the first trick I learned when I was like 7. But mine was with 21 cards and it was the 11th position as well lol
I definitely subscribed to this channel after seeing one trick that he invented. It is like a spin off of "Fool Us Penn and Teller." Their idea is like: "Fool My Wife." He show her a card trick and she tries to figure the trick. Then he teach how the trick is done.
Stumbled on the channel after surfing RUclips. He creates pretty good card tricks.

Another great tutorial! One question (and maybe you mentioned this and I missed it?) What do you do if they think of one of the cards between 1 and 11 from the top?
Unfortunately if they do that the trick wont work. Which is why he says when you instruct them to pick out a card, you hold your hands together really close and mimic to them to keep the deck tight. That way they (hopefully) pick from the bottom 11 cards, which to them would be the top 11 cards

i learned some of this from Moes Miracles1935 my version is i thumb through the deck faces spectators and ask them the think of a card they see.....they blink or say OK and thats where my break is....I rarely ever have to fish bc I worked behind the bar for 3 years practicing this ... when I place the card into their hands 19 times out of 20 its their card I NEVER EVER PRE-FISH NO QUESTIONS OR DIRECT STATEMENTS if im wrong someone else claims its the card THEY thought of. ive already did the bottom change and its in her hand after asking her to look at her card and she tells me what was,,,,,,,,,sometimes i just blow on the card and it seems to change to her card after I blew on it IVE WORKED OUT DOZENS of ways out that ALL appear as I knew it all along.....there is always the smart ass that remembers the BOTTOM card which i have a duplicate in a card case on the bar .....BAM

work this out. spec chooses 5 cards. mixes them up. peeks at the bottom card and then mixes them up so she doesnt know the position of her cards and places them fd in her pocket. she chooses four cards one at a time and hands them to you. you show her and these 4 are the same 4 she picked but hers is not hers. the final card in her pocket os the same one she peeked at which was shuffled and randomized before and after she looked
