Constructing religious building is completely legal as long as it is not located in the middle of the residence district.
As you can see , the masjid they are trying to build is surrounded by normal houses.
I can't say that there is no islamophobia in Korea, but you guys need to deliver the fact appropriately.
There are more than 20 masjids in Korea and you can check this by googling it.
It is up to Muslims to break the negative stereotype about Islam because Koreans have been learning Islam through the Western media.
The facts are is that they received approval from the Buk district office to build a mosque there… They even won the courtcase when the approval was revoked due to pressure… And still was granted the rights and approval to build a relogious building there. So what you mentioned is pointless… This is purely islamaphobia and nothing more. They did not go against any law and do have proper approvals from the proper authroties to build a religious building. It they didnt, then yes ur statement is valid. But this isnt the case now is it? Not to mention there is a huge church not far from the site of the mosque but no one complains about that? Dont sugar coat plain islamaphobia and ignorance. Their actions in the "lprotests and the banners hung around the area says its more than just a simple "we dont want religious buildings"

To be accepted and treated well as a member of the society, you need to harmonized with local people and listen to what they are trying to say, instead of solely protecting your religious freedom. @@harrypp_pharm8356 they took the proper steps to get it built, they got approval from the authorities and even had the approval of the SURROUNDING neighbours. But suddenly there was a change? They have been praying there in the house for years before this and no complaints? Suddenly complaints? This Isnt about them disrespecting locals they did their due deligence and even took steps to compromise with the demands of the objections. And they suddenly change their reason for not wanting it there? With the amount of racist and disgraceful remarks by the locals. This is more than just "locals" not agreeing there is an agenda being pushed forward here by people full of hate using the "locals" as an excuse.

Seems you are not hatched yet............there are way many churches in egypt, Saudi, Albania, Lebanon. They are preserved well. One I remember, Muslims named a mosque 'Marry mother of Jesus' due to respect for a church nearby. Many hindu temples in Saudi and a recent in due construction in Abu Dhabi.

They are building in the middle of residential area. That is matter ! In Korean it is common sense in Korea not make a noise near the home town. But people near there were already suffering from noise cus for ramadan period they put the speaker speech and pray till night really loud for one month ! It would be normal for your guys but not the people in korea. They kept telling please building some area not residential

Their families choose the boys to go abroad and study in Korea while they lock up their girls at home and deprive them from education....I hope that the South Korean could send all these male students back to their corrupted countries and only allow the foreign girls to come and study so when these girls graduate from Korea they could go back to their countries and make it better for women in there

I can see why dawah is so so. So important. Thru dawah, our muslim brothers and sisters will able to live safely and peacefully, because people understand what Islam is.
Now when dawah is less than the propaganda of the west or any in opposition towards Islam, we will find this sort of behaviour, shouting "terrorists!" at students who are admirably building a safe space for themselves as a place of worship.

@@KritikX Dawah in general... There are many personalities in Korea that try to do dawah like Karam Kim, Ustaz Al-Kory, Daud Kim, Korean Muslims Federation, etc.
Dawah is not only on the shoulders of these students, but on all Muslims wherever we can. Especially nowadays when we have Internet which can connect the whole world. Even content from outside the country can influence those in another country.

Other religions exist in Muslim countries after 1400 years while you cant even tolerate immigrants of the second generation which is less than a century.

This is not an issue against the religion but a simple matter of the location. A mosque shouldn't be built in the center of the residential area. It's as simple as that. It's probably a screw up by the authorities in permitting the construction in the first place. Build it in commercial zones like any other religious facilities, there shouldn't be any problems.

It's all fine if they pray...nobody is against it...what people are against is the use of "loud speakers" early in the morning...that is not acceptable for the locals I believe...same case is if Buddhist student settle in Muslim country and make a monastery and pray loudly...that will 100% piss the locals
There are mosques in many other non Muslim countries that do not use loudspeakers.

I am not a Muslim, in fact i'm a Christian, but I was disheartened at the IDF raid on the mosque in Jerusalem. Now seeing SKorea its sad. Jesus would not want this. Even if I don't believe in Islam, I respect Muslims because any religion brings people together for a common cause, and most religions have moral guidelines that steer people on a righteous path. South Korea is not a Muslim country. Muslim countries do not need to build churchs temples and other countries to not need to build mosques. Just work, study, and live peacefully in non-Muslim countries but return to your homelands and make them strong. This is what Islam preaches.
