In the last few months I have had the pleasure of seeing Gaslight Anthem, The Hives and Alkaline Trio play live. Don’t think I will ever see such a sweet spot of superb gigs again
@@MusicFan-dn9ueIt messed me up hearing the differences with the lyrics. I had to dig up the older version to make sure my memory was still working. The payphone is on 4th Street, dammit!
There's a whole new dimension to this song 15 years in. The original was singing about the experience, this almost feels like the melancholy of looking back. Either way, TGA forever.
It feels very different at 30 than it did at 15. I don’t know how to feel about it. It hurts and feels comfortable at the same time. It’s like getting a tattoo. I listened to this song with the girl I was sure I was going to marry (I was in high school), now I’m engaged to a woman with four or five serious relationships between the two. Life sure moves fast.
@@swatchwatchable thanks. One of the cool things about music is the way it can draw some of our deep feelings out. TGA is my favorite band because they pull something more meaningful out of me than any other band.
When my friend told me about the gaslight anthem about 15 years ago I listened and thought it was incredible. They are still my favourite band... No one will replace them. I found my favourite band for the rest of my life
Me too. I always say that the second part of my life began when I heard Great Expectations. If I could relive any moment, it would be the moment I first heard that song.
This is my favorite gaslight song! Love it so much I got a half sleeve tattoo dedicated to it. "We sing with our heroes thirty three rounds per minute" is such a great line.
Of course I picked Prague to see you guys, and missed out. I'm sad for that, but I'm coming all the way to Oregon to see you in Forest Grove to make up for that. No shit. See ya there!
Old music or new you guys have gotten me through alot, its almost as if the songs youve wrote are specifically for me, no one comes closer to expressing how im feeling but Yall
I’m from Portugal and I know the chances of TGA coming here are next to none. So I checked their Europe tour dates to see which landed on my vacation time. Made travel plans around the whole thing just to go see them in Prague about 3 weeks ago. Concert got cancelled on the day cause tour bus broke down on the way out of Vienna… FML
They actually explained it at a show last night in Salt Lake City. Brian's friends with Ryan Bingham and it's a line from a Ryan Bingham song tossed in as a joke between friends.

Love to see Brian smile while he‘s singing. ❤
Senor and the Queen is probably one of the most underrated albums of all time.
Agreed and that version of this song blows this version out of the water by miles and miles. I do like the video though.

Greatest band of all time. ❤
The best there is. The best there was. The best there'll ever be.

@JaredHope beautifully written comment. I actually can’t even read it out loud to the Mrs without getting choked up. ❤

Yes sir
@@sspsp6545that's what I love about Thier new album it shows a reflectedness and maturity not just as a band but as person moreso a man
Can't say much that hasn't been said,.if you're still here in 2024 and beyond, you're my kind of people,..rock on ,be safe,.and carry on 🤟💯💯❤️❤️
Wonderful Band got me through some tough times.
Same, all the tough times have me turning to Brian Fallon in some iteration or another...
Got married to this Jam.
This band will go down as one of the most underestimated bands of its time.
Man i cant wait for Aug 3rd to see them again in So Cal. I have only seen them once in 2022 and it was amazing!
My favourite TGA song, glad it's gotten a fresh coat of paint, the original song is still excellent
The original is far superior. Perfection should not be messed with.
The boys from Little Eden! ❤

@@goldenageenthusiast yeah for sure so an incredible album....all the tracks are great
I LOVE Kelsey's work. She truly captures the boys at their best.
Kudos to Kelsey.❤❤❤❤
The world might be a total chaos right now, but everything that's wrong just goes away when I listen to this one. THANKS FOR YOUR MUSIC, TGA!
This band just pulls on every single one of my heartstrings ❤
I wish they knew how much I love this song ❤

Pretty fkd up this has been up for 8 hours and has under 5k views. One of the most important bands of all time. So underknown and underrated
Agreed 💯
I was not expecting this today. Lovely

I love your music. You guys deserve so much more credit
Thanks for an incredible european tour
I have waited 15 years for a music video for this song. Victory is sweet.
This was my wedding song in 2019 🥲
I'm torn between this and "Autumn" as a first dance song for if I ever get married!

Best band and best artist (Brian) in the World. The Best
As much as it’s very good. The original is just incredible and holds some fantastic memories in my heart

Dammmmmn. Well done. Already looking forward to the Asbury Park show
Lobed hearing this at 2000 trees ❤ thank you
Man, I don’t know, this is a risky re-record. The original was perfect. I’ll have to listen to it a hundred more times. Tonight.
soooo happy for new music from you guys!! this one is just so beautiful
Beautiful.
I adore this song so much
Beautiful, beautiful song. Thank you.
I haven't heard this in so long
Absolutely love Gaslight! ♥️
2000 trees was great! Thanks for coming
Desperate to know any other bands similar to this..TGA are pure punk poets
If I had to list a few, The Menzingers, The Wonder Years and Spanish Love Songs. TGA is my favorite, but all those are solid if you like TGA, IMO.
LOVE
essa música é boa demais!!!!
Love this ❤❤
TGA🖤
The First Song that i ever played on youtube :) love it so much :) thx ;)

Farewell Friese. 😢
I miss that part "a-a-aaaa" you know what I mean I don't know how to write it. But cool video.
Yeah def not the same without it but great nonetheless.
Unbelievale...how could they do such a thing?
@@LV-jm3wc I know it's a minor thing but it's a cool thing that adds to the song.
@@Waywardification I couldn't agree more. I'll sing it instead. Haha.
Ditemi che non siete alla frutta, vi prego
What is the last line about Texas and cars about? Without context it is pretty strange.

@@JaredHope Thank you. I wouldn’t have been able to make that connection.
Is Bayhead better than Cookman?
If you look up the real estate, Bay Head houses are actively selling for mutli-millions
Yeah when this version came out Brian said that Cookman has become all like retail and dentist's offices, lol.
Who's the backing vocal ?
Such a bad move getting rid of the female voice when the drums come in at the beginning!
Hate the drumming on this otherwise great song tbh
