Me too. When I put in six 12 ft raised beds I used 120 bags! Wife kind of freaked out when the flat bed truck with a forklift showed up with pallets of it LOL. In the end it was worth it.
My yard soil is at approximately 7.5 pH as it is over a limestone base. After mixing a more appropriate garden soil, I use some aluminum sulfate to bring the pH down quickly and some sulfur mini-pellets (Espoma Soil Acidifier) that acts slowly to keep the pH lower for an extended time. The soil mix would otherwise creep back up in pH due to the dissolving particles of limestone that still remain in the 25% of my mix that is from the original yard soil. The end result is a pH of about 6.25 to 6.5 pH.

Looks like a great mix.

That sounds perfect! You definitely have it dialed in. How much epsoma are you using on your soil and how often?
Is the soil you used in this video also good for tomatoes, okra and beans?
It is. I would only add 1 tbs of soil acidifier to keep the ph around a 6.5-6.7. Good luck!
Thank you!
