All I can saw is WOW! Love your build, love your location and admire your vast set of skills. Having lived in the California Sierra Nevada for 20 years, seeing your video makes me homesick for the Pacific Northwest, where I am originally from.
Twist the ribbed pipe with needle nose pliers perpendicular to the pipe in the round to make the pipe slightly smaller. Just like how they make small alcohol burners from cola cans. Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas Michy and Steve. There is a hand tool for crimping the ducts. Even though one end is crimped, sometimes it needs just that little bit of extra. You can also do it with needle nose pliers. You may need only to do three or four extra crimps to shrink it enough to fit. You do not necessarily need the added crimping to run as long as the "factory" crimp. About 1/2 to 1 inch should be enough to get it started. Not knowing your plan, I do advise at least one screw in each joint to ensure no separation, then wrap with foil tape to seal it. WOW, I had not realized how long I have been watching your vids. Again, Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.
@@michygoss7148 Another great video, you are in your element for sure 👍 I watch all your videos they are awesome 👏 Merry Christmas To you and Steve and your fur babies 😊☃️🎅🧑🎄
you can also use a hose clamp to pull the crimp in enough to get it started. and never forget lubrication is your friend. graphite maybe for this application but there a million things you can use in a pinch. just make sure it wont stink or smoke too bad if it gets a little heat.@@michygoss7148
You beat me to it. I've posted about this before, a crimp tool can change your life. LOL It hurts me to watch her struggle when a $15 dollar tool would fix it instantly.,
My dog died 2 days ago. She was a blue tick hound and I miss here terribly. Watching Luna run around and playing made me smile and I am thankful for that.
What if you used a temporary stainless hose clamp to squeeze the corrugated end until it is started? Put it on the corrugated end with just about 5mm (3/16") sticking out past the clamp. Slide it in till the other piece hits the clamp, then remove the clamp. I haven't tried this. Also, while the hose clamp is in place, maybe tap around the edge with a hammer to tighten the crimping.
Michelle and Steve, God bless you and Merry Christmas. It wasn't until I felt the warmth of tears on my face that I knew how emotional it was for you to sleep your first night in the cabin. I could see it on your face and in your eyes. TY both for all the smiles, love, fun, and friendship. In a world that needs such blessings you both give them abundantly.
I had a idea what about a second porch roof line at each side of the roof covering the porch to shed the snow to the ground. If you use plexiglass it will still allow the light through. And for your chimney pipe use a large screw hose clamp to reduce the diameter to get it started. Then remove it. Have fun 😊
Hi Michy, w hat an amazing woman you really are......How you learn your skills is how it really is, try and try again, until you are happy with the result, which is what you do........Take good care.....😘
Great video (as usual). There is a crimping tool you can use to pinch in the male end of a stove pipe, HVAC duct, or gutter downspout, to make it slip into the female end more easily. I think you just need one pass with the crimper to pinch in the existing convolutions and your pipes will go together much more easily. Look for a "duct crimper" at your favorite store and it will do the trick. It's an inexpensive hand tool.
Michelle You will enjoy the MrBuddy, we use one to heat our shop. I placed 2 convection fans on top of the heat grill, works great. Now for that hand Rail so our favorite Canadian WoodsWoman doesn’t…😵💫😵💫😵💫You know!! Love the recap, you’ve made so much progress. Love it❤️❤️👴🏻🧑Wilber & Margaret from the lower 48❤❤
Thanks for sharing the build from start to finish. By far the most photogenic picture of them all was you sitting in the open window frame. My wife has a very similar black and white of our Autistic son Brayden and he looks so content
Yes it has been a long time and we have enjoyed every minute of it the cabin on the cliff is beautiful🎉 and your whole family is beautiful you have been blessed in life🎉❤ Merry Christmas to you and your family🎅🤶🎄 and a Happy New Year🎉🎉🎉❤ see you on the next one😂❤
Another great video, and Luna is getting so much better on stairs. Isn't it amazing what having a young female around does to older males. Merry Christmas everyone.
Hey Michy, thanx for the "Meadow" view, and for the Image of You at 17:30. That Image says so many things in so many ways about Your Character and how You see the World. Thanx for that also. The Meadow would be my choice for building, looking forward to what will happen there.😃
Michelle your a trouper, very strong, good common sense, Steve is blessed, and you as well with Steve. Love the videos, i personally do not know of many woman, that can do what you have done. I know a handful. You have what i call "THE HEART OF A CHAMPION" what is that you ask, glad you did.. LOL Everyone, i mean everyone gets knocked down sometimes in life, losers quit, those that no matter what keep getting back up, they ultimately WIN! That is "The Heart of a Champion" always getting back up... Tell Steve we said hey from SE Texas Bear ❤💯🙏
What you have accomplished, single handed is true phenomenal! A very rare breed of women ..hats of to you ..Wishing you and husband Steve a merry Christmas from sunny South Africa..ps love Steve's motor sailer ..😊⛵🎅
Buy a pair of crimpers that will shrink the small end of your flue pipe and make the joining of the two pipes easier. Install the crimped side of the flue pipe down, if you don't the crimped end will leak creosote down the outside of your flue pipe.
It would be wrong join the flue pipe with the crimped end facing down. It is far more important to prevent flue gasses (smoke) from escaping the flue so you put the crimped end facing upwards.
Merry Christmas beautiful hope you and Steve had an amazing day.. OMG that photo story at the end.. You are Gorgeous girl. Love from The Land Down Under 😘 😘 😘 😘
Now wait just a minute. Santa is real ! I hope you did your Xmas list for a new chainsaw, tools, heels ! 😂 A very merry Xmas from Wales to you both. Nadolig Llawen 🎅🎅😀😀
Delighted to see that Lenny has found the love of his life! Go Lenny!! Yet another in a long list of masterfully crafted videos that keep you at the top of my list. Party, long and hard!! -Curt
It is so great to see you finally get to spend a night in the cliff cabin! Happy to see how Luna is getting along, as well as little Lenny! So amazing seeing him "waking up" in a way. One thing is for sure, no one can say your brood of pups and fluffer are not loved and cared for. You and Steve give so much to them and it is amazing to see your hearts pour into the animals, not only those at home, but all the random pups you meet along the way in your journeys. Stay amazing Michy and Steve. Merry Christmas to you both, hope you have an amazing holiday season.
Thank so cool you got to stay at your cabin you built! Congratulations on getting as far as you are on the build. You are a hardworking girl. You are still inspiring me and help push me at work. I love building things. Also. You were in my dream last night. I was showing you the deck with a roof over it that I just completed. Thank you for coming to see me. I felt honored. You were so nice to me in the dream. I will never see you in person. That makes me sad.
You are a Beautiful Canadian woman
Maybe a strong jubilee clip to compress a little the one end to make it easier to get it started.

Yes! I think foil tape at least (to hold them all together so this doesn’t happen again!). Thanks!

It looks like you don't have the "other" stovepipe there. The one which is a little smaller diameter to fit all the others into.

Merry Christmas Michy, Steve, the dogs and the cat from Finland, the land of Santa Claus! (And to the chipmunks, and the bear as well)
Happy pup. Beautiful video and music. Merry Christmas.
When I fit pipe like that I bring a crimping tool. It's a pliar like tool that forms the male end crimp. Easy to use, to make that end smaller.
Love the recap and the move from shed to cabin! So much fun to stroll down memory lane. Merry Christmas and here's to a FANTASTIC 2024!!
Awesome videos
Always fun and have a fab 2024❤
