I feel educated, not bullshitted and the possibility of shopping at your place as an offer not as coercion. Thank u for bringing me nearer to the good stuff.
Also, if you oversteep at some point, the next steeps are probably gonna be bitter also, so it's better to understeep and up the steep time than the opposite Love your stuff, keep it up 😊
the first time I tried to cold brew some green tea it came out too subdued..I saw in another of his videos he recommended when 'done' with green or white tea to use them for cold brew afterwards. I had a smattering of jasmine pearls that I brewed for myself hot (so, tightly packed and needed to unfurl, never woulda worked in cold brew I don't think), mixed that with some other once steeped green tea to fill it out for a pitcher. MUCH BETTER. I may try to brew my black (red) teas once or twice to open the leaves up before using for cold brew next time too.
My tips for a perfect cup of green tea every time: 1. Buy a heat gun, a Brita filter and high quality, fresh, loose leaf green tea 2. Boil filtered water 3. Transfer boiled water to a gooseneck kettle. 4. Using the heat gun, wait until the hot water cools to 160 degrees F. 5. Pour hot water evenly and in a circular motion onto the green tea and steep for 1.5 minutes. 6. Pour into a strainer (Fortnum and Mason make nice ones). 7. Enjoy tea. 8. Re-steep tea up to 3 times, with same temperature water, 1 minute to 1.5 minutes each time.
Fun fact, I acquired a taste for burnt green tea bc I didn't know better and thought it tested better burnt! I'm trying to unlearn that, and while I haven't found the perfect steep with the gongfu process, I have used your green teas in small cold brewed batches for the BEST green iced tea!
I just ordered a cat infuser mug and some of the Anji Green tea, do you have instructions on the card for using a mug like that or just the gaiwan method (like how much to use, etc)? Really excited to try it!
Each green tea is a bit different - definitely play to your taste and experiment. But some greens can be quite light in color and it doesn’t mean it’s bad
Mmmm the green tea pre order was so worth it. Makes me want a dedicated green tea jar.

My electric kettle has an 80 degree setting 🙌🏻 Highly recommend for lazy green tea lovers like myself
Write that down. Write that down
Just finished off a session involving a liter of the Ancient Tree green tea. What a treat that was!
😮😍 ...I can't wait to try good quality green tea❤

Amazing advice!
Have you tried cold steeping overnight? It has some really great results for iced green tea.

Thank you for the tips. I’ve been making it wrong my whole life and I always felt like green tea was too bitter for me

I would update those instructions come with tea
I usually put about 5 teaspoons per 800 ml gongfu teapot, brew for only 5 seconds x 4 times until full

I always find Chinese green to be forward and astringent, I much prefer steamed Japanese green.
Quick question, your suggested time here is substantially longer than what’s on the Green Tea box, how come?
Is that the color it should be? Sometimes i might leave it too long thinking its too clear so maybe this is the color i should aim for?

I think there is a typo, I think it's "in summer" but says "is summer"
How many steeps do you get usually from green tea? Is it about the same as red tea or less?
@@ambivvvvvvvvvalence much less, 3 to 5 steep is about normal. Of course it depends how weak you mind your tea being, you can keep going
