Some of the prices of the games he got have jumped up at a high rate, for example I spotted casino kid 2, I wouldn't know what the value was back in 09, but I know it's somewhat pricey now
Instruction manuals for video games will never be the same. I remember getting Pokemon Blue and it came with a mini trainer's guide which tells you a back story, controls for the game, etc.. When I bought Pokemon Omega Ruby there was no instruction manual for the game. Just instructions on how to use your 3DS...
I guess it's more convenient for them since they don't spend as much making the booklet and everything. And it helps the environment too. But yeah i agree, it sucks. Everything is digitalised now. Sad :(
"This has already gone on too long" Flash forward 7 years, James spends close to an hour showing us his video collection. You should do an updated video on the games, I really want to see what you have from other consoles.
"To those of you who donated, consider this video my personal thanks" Even though I was never able to donate any games, that hit me in the feels. Here's a like! Also at 2:02 that thing LOOKS like a motion tracker for top loaded NES consoles, but I could be HORRIBLY mistaken. Take that with a grain of salt.
I think it was because they had a common label with the checkout barcode and just slapped it on everything. I remember seeing them on DVDs. The clerks at the stores thought it was dumb, too.
It's nice to see that passion which started in your childhood still goes on! People know that these games will have "better life" in your place. Great to see that after all we're one big family of gamers :) Cheers James!
One of the coolest things about your collection, which was awesome 10 years ago and is probably insane now, but one of the coolest things is your 70's basement in this video. That linoleum tile floor and wood paneling is retro gold. Every basement in my neighborhood was exactly like yours in this video and I remember them being filled with Atari 2600's and dark wood furniture and flower patterns. Completed with an old TV in a full wood case. Man, the Nostalgia is strong with your videos, and now 10 years later, there's a 2nd layer of Nostalgia. You are one of the premier creators on RUclips. I hope you keep up the the videos, reviews, and even the Movie store thing you are doing now is refreshing. Thank you for all you have done, and I hope you keep it up.
+Daniel 316 I know James has a re-production cart of the game, and I believe a gray/silver one as well. Pat however is one of the very few who happens to own a gold cart of it, along with a gray too.
Watched the video with my Guide to the NES library book by Pat Contry, and was surprised of seeing new stuff as that Hell Fighter! Congrats for the awesome collection, never saw something so complete before!
Niko Teixeira He released this video back in early 2009, when his contract was under long negotiations with GameTrailers and Screwattack. Prior to this, 2007 and 2008 were when he released TWO AGVN videos EACH month. That was insane to do, given how they kept on getting bigger and more involved.
oh back in my day of 2009, them mother fucking 1tb drives were demons and shit. me and batman had to mo fockin wrangle us a 1tb drive from hade's butthole and have avgn bless it with his curse words, which would turn the 1tb drive into a super tronic electric magnetic titty that we would insert into the computer, which of course, would get the computer pregnant with memory babies. so that, my friend, is what 1tb drives were like in 2009. it was crazy, man
Seeing this made me teary eyed. such dedication to an old gaming console. I still have my PS2 from 2002. I'll never be able to collect for this system, but I will try damn it
You guys at cinemassacre are an inspiration dude. Love the James and Mike Mondays, the reality of the situation makes the comedy so authentic. Your scrpited content and films are great too, but i personally find the back and fourth from you and Mike enjoyable as hell, Keep em coming and thanks for the entertainment!
@4:00 The sticker from Super Video Store, was a video/game rental chain from Bergen County NJ (hence the 201 area code). I always wondered why they put the stickers on the game carts too back then.
You are a complete joy to watch. I watch your videos everyday. The thing about your videos is that no matter what video you can always go back to it. I recently started collecting retro video games and its a joy sharing my personal collection and your videos with my friends. I absolutely will always be a loyal fan and subscriber to your channel. Stay awesome and happy collecting.
Yes, I am a collector and a gamer. Yesterday, I played Milon's Castle and got all the way to the second turd boss, before I gave up. Ah well, I will beat it one day!!
I always love seeing that little gray Mario entertainment stand. I had the other version with the vertically-long swinging door that had the full-body Mario sticker on it.
Wow, this brings me back, when a hard drive which stored 1 TB was a huge deal when its commonplace for a laptop to now at a standard to have that kind of storage space. Time really does amaze me sometimes.
+Mr.Sheepington That was my favorite game. I especially liked the level where you played as Saddam Hussein, going around shooting titanium rocket jockstraps.

10 years later and still have a loyal following. This video shows why he has a loyal fan base. It's, because how sincere and greatful he is towards his fans. You don't see that from a lot of people nowadays.
I kept the boxes for a bunch of Gameboy Advance games because I was old enough to realize value when that handheld system came out. I'm saving the boxes for maybe two decades, and then collectors can have at them with the games. :)
I guess I was the only kid back then who kept the boxes to store the games in when I wasn't playing them. To me they were like the Holy Grail of Kid-dom and I valued them above my own life until I was probably 12 years old.
“I take good care of my games” immediately followed by the drill clip.

Drill AND hammer! =D
he REALLY takes good care of his NES games 'coz he F**king smashs 'em all with a HAMMER and ruins their plastic case with a DRILL
that game sucked, he has an excuse.

He should do more simpler stuff like this again, with the over the top production
1 TB hard drive in 2009? That must've been a small fortune.
They really weren't that expensive back then, hdd prices haven't dropped that much. Am external hdd like that could be had for about $150.

@@Baguenaudeur i think he's justified in thinking that considering how much technology has changed since 2009. Don't be a prick ye?

If it was an SSD maybe, but HDD's weren't too bad.

Agreed. I would always read the game manual, but then they were gone. ;~;

Flash forward 7 years, James spends close to an hour showing us his video collection. You should do an updated video on the games, I really want to see what you have from other consoles.
Back in 2009, 10-minute videos were considered "long" videos. Compared to nowadays where everyone and their aunt is making 3-hour-long video essays
james was an youtuber long before youtubers were invented
That Gremlins reference XD...
The position switch things on the gold carts were for nstc-u and pal reigons, so if you had a pal nes you had to play it on position b
That's what I thought. Actually kind of a good idea, but they should have explained it on the back.
i always thought that it was meant as, if she doesn't get pregnant in position a, use b
