I’ve always been the giver, the free therapist, the advisor, and taken for granted and used. Ever since this summer I started being acutely aware of my role in peoples lives, and their (far below satisfactory) role in my life. I’ve been through trials and tribulations, betrayals and envy attacks from those closest to me, and I didn’t deserve any of it. Been everyones cheerleader, while no one has been mine. Sag rising here! 🎉 Thank you for this video. I feel so seen and validated. Went through a 7-year couch surfing journey and finally landed on my own two feet in August 2023. You were spot on when you explained having rxships where I was made to feel unworthy of love because I didn’t have as much. Growing up in the foster care system (from 9-21yo) created abandonment, rejection, identity, and self-love wounds. As I started my healing journey, I got to see firsthand friends and family (who gave me a place to stay while couch surfing) treat me like I was only as valuable as what I was able to acquire material-wise. Because I had less, I was bullied, picked on, put down and when I spoke up: I was told to “be grateful” because I was being given a place to stay. I would excuse the behavior because I believed they were doing these things to build me up to establish that true independence I would need in this world. I still do believe they were doing this (that Sag/Jupiter optimism) but I also realized some of them were just kicking me while I was down. Having to always “see the forest from the trees” can foster a behavior where you don’t look at the abuse in front of you. I’m glad to be on my own now. I have what I need and am expanding on acquiring what I now *want* - including love and rxships.

Went through a 7-year couch surfing journey and finally landed on my own two feet in August 2023. You were spot on when you explained having rxships where I was made to feel unworthy of love because I didn’t have as much. Growing up in the foster care system (from 9-21yo) created abandonment, rejection, identity, and self-love wounds. As I started my healing journey, I got to see firsthand friends and family (who gave me a place to stay while couch surfing) treat me like I was only as valuable as what I was able to acquire material-wise. Because I had less, I was bullied, picked on, put down and when I spoke up: I was told to “be grateful” because I was being given a place to stay. I would excuse the behavior because I believed they were doing these things to build me up to establish that true independence I would need in this world. I still do believe they were doing this (that Sag/Jupiter optimism) but I also realized some of them were just kicking me while I was down. Having to always “see the forest from the trees” can foster a behavior where you don’t look at the abuse in front of you.
I’m glad to be on my own now. I have what I need and am expanding on acquiring what I now *want* - including love and rxships.
