It's Good To Be the Queen was heard during the European beauty contest held in Istanbul in 1982. My uncle taped it off TV or somewhere else and years later I was blown away when I heard the tune while watching the contestants walking across the stage to the tune. Whoever included it in the playlist must have a great taste and it perfectly fitted with the format.

Yo thank you for this man you filled in a lot of blanks for me bro. Like how all the groups had “ Bands” when they started making records. Which I hated! BTW.... Sucker MCs was the first record that sounded like authentic street hip hop period! (Like when the music stopped before “ first come first served basis”). But I get it now. How Sylvia was about to go broke but had the presence of mind to keep her ear to the streets and come up with rap records. Of course she used bands what else was she supposed to do! I heard they were grimy but I’m sure the streets put a lot on that. I watched the whole rap evolution thing happen before my eyes. I knew fantastic and cold crush. Mainly Kev and Rob and Jerry D Lewis ( JDL). They hung out with each other. I will never cease to be amazed about what rap music has become. Thanks for setting the record straight my dude.

Being an MC! from Jersey City New Jersey..... there was always an underline Discord between New York MC'S and Jersey MC'S because of Sugar Hill records.... the New York MCs at those clubs never considered Sugarhill Gang as real hip hop... but she is an absolute genius... she is the blueprint and the founder of the business of hip-hop and how it's done... the culture owes her a lot but she's never mentioned

17:35 is “It’s Good to Be the Queen” by Sylvia, an answer to actor Mel Brooks’ novelty song, prior to this, he did the original version called “It’s Good to Be the King” and it was his only novelty record ever made by an actor, not a singer. This is what it sounded like.
