I maintain tyre pressure to 33 in both tyres, use mix of smart eco and zip mode, i turned off the coasting regen, and use magic twist most of the times. Coasting regen i don't know why but it creates resistance while accelerating and that resistance don't allow this scooter to accelerate smoothly.
I've owned a Rizta Z 2.9 for about 3 months now and I absolutely love this machine. The driving experience is so sophisticated which makes the ICE Scooters feel archaic. Most of the features that you're getting are useful and will make your life a bit easier in the city; some of them are pure gimmicks and you'll figure it out pretty soon. Smart Eco feels pretty dull sometimes even for the city roads as Shumi mentioned but that's the mode you'll have to be in to extract the best range. Zip mode is seriously fun but takes a toll on your range...anywhere from 12-15 kms. Ride comfort & suspension is good enough for it's intended city use & yes you'll feel the bumps on bad roads. Overall I'm really happy with the purchase and Ather's service has been amazing at addressing small niggles I've had till now.

I bought Rizta Z (2.9 kWh) for my retired parents and they love it. Reduced performance was a positive thing for a couple who've crossed 60 yrs of age. Didn't get Pro pack bcz they wouldn't use those features anyway. They love the big boot for their weekend sabzi mandi trips. They live in tier 3 city, so with 100km range, they have to charge the scooter only once in 10 days. This was the first time we got EV, so they were a bit skeptical. But they are thoroughly enjoying their ride so I'm happy with the purchase. I heard few bad reviews about Ola sometimes getting burnt. With Ather, I've that peace of mind, especially since this purchase was for my parents.

I have been using the rizta top end model for almost 4k kms now. There are 2 serious issues I have had so far. 1. Sometimes when I am parking the vehicle in reverse mode , the software glitches and turns off the reverse mode automatically. This happens within the span of 1 second. I almost ended up getting into the road and driving perpendicular to the traffic. 2. There are times when the display freezes randomly. It can happen anytime and anywhere. The problem that occurs to me is I cannot change the driving modes at that time. And I am unaware of the display freeze so when I try to overtake any vehicle I shift from eco to zip mode but because I am still in eco mode I end up going parallel to the vehicle and into the incoming traffic. Everything else is fine but these 2 issues are a huge huge safety hazard. I contact ather and informed them multiple times , I have also had them repeatedly service it but the problem still exists. The service team from ather have been giving their best effort to fix it. I have also spoken with other rizta owners. They don't seem to noitce anything like this yet. (FYI : the reverse mode glitch happened twice and the display freeze glitch happened many times)

I've always felt the taper at the rear side of the rizta bit of an eye shore. Thanks for pointing that out, glad to know that I am not the only one who feels the same. And 20k for pro pack !!! Ather seriously? Other brands gives all these features as standard !! i cube literally mentions it on their website 😅.
I was asking for a suggestion with my colleagues to which should I go with. One of them said go with aethar. But everyone on my family have range anxiety. I jsut said one thing the Activa which I'm using is almost 10 years old and no issue till yet. Will the aethar last for for 10 years? I don't think so. I'm only concerned about the battery becoming less effective and with time it will become more frustrating regarding the range it will offer. Hell no.
I own ather rizta 3.7kw using it for more than 2m, I travel to office daily, I am in night shift so only travel on zip mode with speed of 60-70, and 70-80, as I take highway in morning to escape traffice, so with 105 range on zip mode, I consume 35% charge on city at night and on highway due to long distance 40-45% charge, and that usually leave me with 30-25% charge for total of 50-55 km. I had minor issue like charge symbol was showing whle put on charge then in few mintues the rizta automatically rebooted and it was fine, the dashboard got hanged twice on 60-70 speed, but it does not affect ride and automatically rebooted in after 10 minutes and was back to normal charging at home is simple as I leave it on charge and take off when going to office, it has auto cutt off so no issues. Initially you will feel the suspension is stiff, as you along, you will get used to smooth rides wont be bothered about suspension and it will not be affected. I used to have around Rs 3000 exp for my commute, now I dont know how much I spend on charging, as I charge on my apartment plug point, need to check on it. @motorinc i m confused in both sccoter jupiter 125 and access which should I prefer , is their any problem facing for reliability for long yime in access as it comes fibre body as compare to jupiter
Our first pick would be the Access @vilasmali9683 but the Jupiter's a lot more practical and utilitarian. Please check out our Jupiter 125 review here: ruclips.net/video/U-werOiiEUE/видео.html And we have FAQs on the Access on the channel but can't share Shorts links here.
In some aeras. The river indie is built for carrying extra luggage in the floor board, for commercial purpose but aethar is designed for family use. I would definitely go with river indie.
I loved the scooter during my test drives. It's very very sensible and the perfect definition of a scooter. But I did feel that the head is a bit bulky in comparison to conventional scooters.
I did a bunch of research from a user's prespecive... the design sort of grows on you.... it's not the best and not the worst. I would suggest to get the Rizta Z 2.9, it's the best of all worlds. But also... very very importantly... be honest with your usecase. I have 3 riding members, me, my sister and my father. my previous scooter was Activa 4g, reliable, cheap and shitty with mileage. we hardly go above 40 in the city, and when we need power, we have the zip mode. our daily mileage is hardly 40 -50 kms. the buttons, functionality and everything else is damn simple for my father to use. It's spacious for my mom and my sister for shopping and comfort. it just works. They drop it? It's all plastic body, get it replaced. Ather gets you the original parts easily. Overally, you will spend least, than on petrol each month. But beware there's the initial lumpsum cost involved for getting the Rizta, and unsure after pro-pack. Also, I got the extended battery warranty for 80000 kms / 8 years, it just makes sense.
If they release a hotter version with the 450X state of tune, I’d book one tomorrow. Being 6’2, the 450 felt small, and a bit cartoonish for my size. In comparison, I felt like this is something I could live with

@charanreddy2504 my battery not repaired company provide today generation scooter why they not provide the range... I don't know why nobody points out this....when scooters only ride 50-60km so why do we need Ev scooter
Hey Sachin! First, we'd get the scooter thoroughly checked. Second, the range you see does depend on how you ride. The more aggressively you ride, the lower the range you will see, this is a given for all electric scooters.
I'm a new rider and I'm considering the KTM Duke 250 and Triumph Speed 400 as my first bike. I know they are different in style and purpose, but I like both. I am looking for something sporty but also something powerful. I think the ktm is more sporty and has sharp handling, but speed has more power. Could you share your opinion on which one might be better?
If you're looking for powerful, the Speed 400 is not it @yashh9417. It's a 40bhp motorcycle that really hates going faster than 110kmph. We'd recommend getting a test ride of both to understand the difference. After that, we don't think there'll be any confusion as to which one is more cohesive. I ride a Ather 450x and a friend living in Bangalore reached out to me asking which one to pick between the Ather Rizta and River Indie. I was really hoping this video would have given an answer. I didn't ride either, but River Indie looks promising. Asked him to test ride both and shared the First Impressions videos of both these. Any quick thoughts on what works better for an average family user? Commute is short. ~20KM.
Hey @rjv_mntn! We'd say test ride both first. The River is the better overall scooter but less comfortable than than Rizta, and it has much fewer features.
Based on your review the only people I see buying it is Brand loyalists or brand seekers... No doubt ather created a solid brand with the 450, now it's milking the brand for all it's worth with the Rizta... As I see it Rizta isn't worth buying and is a pure high margin play for ather with the cheap build quality and low attention to design.
We don't think Ather's going to go down to far the price game because they seem themselves as a premium product manufacturer - which also implies that there will be rivals with similar specs and lower pricing for sure, Ashish
Go for the Rizta Z 3.7 if you're really into it....I've the Z 2.9 and it's giving me 95 to 100 in one full charge in Smart Eco plus a little bit of Zip for fun. Hence I'm assuming that 3.7 one should give you something around 120 which makes sense if you're going to ride 80kms on a single charge. Plus an extra cushion of range is gonna keep you away from anxiety as well.
so i guess no electric scooter to buy right now.😢 I was honestly hoping that rizta base variant would be perfect and that is still true but only on some points.
That or the 450S would be our recommendations for now @sakshampatel7000, or if you have them nearby, test the River Indie as well. But what are the problems with these for you? 🤔
I have been using the 450x gen 3 for the last 2 years and with that experience I'm writing this comment... Pros :- super handling, fun to ride Cons:- 1.The seat is not so comfortable 2. The service quality is not even average its poor. 3. The service cost is soo expensive that I even paid 10k for 2 times.. for example during my 49k kms riding the belts that are used in ather worn out very quickly and i changed 3 times each costed me around 3500rs.. general service charge is 850, a very small electrical connector which costs 50rs in local electrical shop costed me around 800rs including labour charge.. 4. The service time they are taking is too long.. they sold many scooters and they r having very few employees to do the service... That's the reason they are taking too much time, poor service quality... 5. Charging infrastructure is not well established and the price for fast charging is 1rs per min + gst...for example the fast charger only charges upto 80%.. the charge the scooter from 10-80% it will take somewhere around 80-90mins... So it's 90rs + gst= ~110rs... And with that 80% charge u will get only 70-75kms.. 6. The battery is degrading very quickly.. out my 50k kms i only fast charged my bike 10-15 times only and in the first 1½ years the range dropped from 90kms to 65kms per full charge and under Warranty they said they repaired the battery.. now the range I'm getting is little better. 7. Service interval:- for every 5k kms we have to do the service.. and some times it will cost u 1200 and sometimes upto 10k. 8. The spare parts are way to costly. The front brake pads are 604+ gst + labour charges... each belt costs around 3-3.5k, where a normal activa belt costs around 1000 and it will last long up to 50k kms.. Conclusion:- im in confusion that Im maintaining an EV or a super bike. I think I made the wrong investment by putting my money on EV. I just want to go back to ICE😢
Hi @charanreddy2504, thanks for sharing your experience. These costs seem a little higher than what we've heard from other owners. Could you share more details about when you had to pay up 10k for a service? 🤔
@motorinc both the primary & secondary belts changed along with pulley...three days before that I changed my back tyre in ather showroom itself.. at that day I noticed a slight difference and informed the service personnel about the same, but they said that new tyre changed so it will be done.. three days later total two belts and pulley damaged and unfortunately my scooter parts are out of warranty
Prohibitive service /spares cost is exactly the reason I stopped considering Ather. I have a friend who owns 450X, and he's completely fed up. The irritating belt sound is another thing he finds unbearable at times. Dramatic reduction in range within 2 years All in all, very scary for the customer.
Outdated information on day 0, You didn’t compare Vida v1, which at 30k less on road than (considering s/w add-ons) does all things ather does in “good enough way” with the same range. And last I checked Indian audience specifically in tier 2+ value bang for buck more than anything. Plus you don’t take into account account new redesigned Chetak with huge boot, or Vida v2 with improvements and both beating rizta by 20-30k on road with same specs and s/w gizmos.
Hey @acntforyt9803! V1 _cannot_ be compared because Vida's never given out test units, right from the start. It might be a good scooter, but there's no way for us to say... and therefore, no way to compare. The redesigned Chetak we are waiting for the test bikes to come - Bajaj hasn't confirmed when this is likely to happen.
@@motorinc Just because one doesn’t get to go to moon, does it mean moon doesn’t exist? The take is unfair to viewers and especially prospective buyers who will watch the video. “We cannot compare XYZ with Ather Rizta…” doesn’t mean XYZ & Ather Rizta are incomparable. A fair take would have been something like “Even though we couldn’t get our hands on XYZ, you might want to check it out for yourself and let us know would consider it over Ather Rizta?”. That way there is acknowledgment of XYZ which might just be an interesting option to some folks. Because if likes of OLA, Chetak, River makes it to the video then omission of XYZ might convey the message that "Oh this is not a good product, so much so that it doesn't even come in same breath". Bit of an unhinged rant follows: As reviewers it's your job to have opinions about the product while having context of whole market, achieving this means sometimes you might have to arrange products to test by other means, buy them, get them though some dealership collaboration or may be just use this MotorInc community to advantage and temporarily crowd source a test vehicle, surely lot of people would be up for it. Not having brand support is an excuse that won’t expect from MotorInc going by reputation you guys have earned, rightfully so.

Shumi i have been asking this for over 3 months now. Give me a certain answer which bike should i buy as my first bike. No if and buts i will go with whatever you suggest. No budget limits nothing. I am joining my job from next month and my daily commute will be around 80 KM (40 one way). Just give me a name.
Samir sir, honestly speaking, you won't get a clear answer from them. Mainly because "I want to travel 80kms daily" is a requirement so low that every single bike can fulfill. What other requirements do you have? Maybe you have a special emphasis on fuel economy, maybe one of your family members may have a stiff back and need excellent suspensions. Maybe you want your bike to give you a sense of adrenaline rush everytime you do go those 80kms. You might want to come up with better descriptions of the requirements you have. Until you tell them what personality of bike suits you, they won't be able to give you an exact name.
Your comments said you were confused between the Honda SP125, the Apache RTR 160/200, KTM Duke 200, and the RE Classic 350. The Honda SP125 will give you the best fuel economy, but my experience with 125ccs has been that it takes the engine a while to get to 100, and even more if you want to exceed that. It's a daily commuter, and it will take you everywhere you want to go. The Classic 350 will be (from what I know) the most fuel inefficient of the bunch. Can you live with 30kmpl? The advantage you get is the ease of riding a bike so laid back and relaxed, with great suspension, and that has a big presence. I won't comment much on the RTR 160/200 and the Duke 200 as I haven't rode any, but I assume both are absolutely good machines for being quick, peppy and yet telling you that they got things under control. These will be the ones that will reach 100kmph the fastest. They'll give you better fuel economy than the Classic 350. Which bike do you think looks better? That affects you too.
@@TejasSMestry As i am above 6 tiny bikes don’t go well with my personality. Talking about my taste i like retros. Anything about 35kmpl will do the job for me. It will be my first bike but i have riding experience of more than 60k KMs. Now i am beginning to think about base model of Ronin at 1.6 lakh onroad. Please suggest
@@samirsingh7579 Okay, the picture is a LITTLE bit clearer. Classic 350 will give you 35kmpl, but it won't be consistent with it, unless you ride it with fuel economy in mind always. It would go good with your height. Ronin gives 45kmpl. Do you like how it looks? Personally I liked it, even if Shumi said he didn't understand the design and didn't like it. Have you taken it for a test ride? One another point I'd like you to take into consideration is the service centres of the companies and the reviews of their servicing. Are there service centres close in your city? Have you heard good things about the servicing of that company? From what you have told me, my guess is Honda SP125 won't look good for your size. Now I want you to do a specific exercise. Imagine your parking lot, and the parking space that you have. Now imagine all of the bikes, one by one, standing in your parking lot. Which bike, if you see standing there, would make your heart flutter the most? I have a Hunter 350 and let me tell you, I genuinely blush like a little girl everytime light hits my bike. Even now. And it's been 2 years.
Hey Samir! How can we give you a name - we don't know you enough from this comment thread. First bike means below 30bhp to us for sure. But the gap between, say a Duke 250 (31bhp), X440 (~30bhp) and a Classic 350 (~20bhp), just to take three examples is massive! Please do make a list of the bikes that are interesting to you right now. For ref, Shumi's 6' tall as well, so if you look at our footage, you'll get a sense of how you'd fit on the bike you are considering.
there is a subscription for features already built into the scooter???? who in their right minds will buy this product? feel free to correct me/ give your opinion because I actually cant comprehend how people arent boycotting ather over this.

@@varun.svarun2899 Which feature excited you the most? I am confused between going for the Rizta and the 450x for my office commute!
Hey Varun! No test bikes yet - we're awaiting confirmations on this from Bajaj - stay tuned!

Hell no.
Thanks for sharing your perspective!
I had minor issue like charge symbol was showing whle put on charge then in few mintues the rizta automatically rebooted and it was fine, the dashboard got hanged twice on 60-70 speed, but it does not affect ride and automatically rebooted in after 10 minutes and was back to normal
charging at home is simple as I leave it on charge and take off when going to office, it has auto cutt off so no issues.
Saving cost on perol and going to petrol bunk is a big relief
Congratulations DA! Glad you're enjoying your riding experience! Have the software issues been resolved?

@motorinc i m confused in both sccoter jupiter 125 and access which should I prefer , is their any problem facing for reliability for long yime in access as it comes fibre body as compare to jupiter
Our first pick would be the Access @vilasmali9683 but the Jupiter's a lot more practical and utilitarian. Please check out our Jupiter 125 review here: ruclips.net/video/U-werOiiEUE/видео.html
And we have FAQs on the Access on the channel but can't share Shorts links here.

Is this better than the River Indie ?
In some aeras. The river indie is built for carrying extra luggage in the floor board, for commercial purpose but aethar is designed for family use. I would definitely go with river indie.
Hey @BrattyBiker! We believe the Indie's the better overall scooter, but it is less comfy than the Ather and has a much smaller feature set

I drive a Honda Shine 125 daily for work. Can anyone tell me, do I need to buy riding gear(jacket, gloves..) etc
Yes @chevvakulasrikanth9260, your bike doesn't decide the necessity of riding gear. You do. It's to protect you.
Why dont you compare it with Vida ?
No test bikes, SJ! Vida has never had test bikes we could use for stories... so we'll try, but we won't promise.
Nice round up! Thanks Prabitra! Congratulations on your new scooter!

@ i did not get my rizta serviced yet. But i had an issue with my brake light not working. That issue was solved within 15 mins of visiting the service centre free of cost. So till now my experience is good.
One more thing is that i never get 100km range on my rizta its always like 80-85 km as per my odo meter. Though it shows 100 km on the full charge.
Hi I buy ather rizta but from the day 1 i didnt get the range but ather promise what do you think ? What issus there i have 100s of screenshots for the oddo metre as i get only 50-60km range is it true range i have to accpet it ? Or what do you think
This is common with my ather 450x gen 3we don't get the recommended range.. during my initial days i got 90kms, and gradually decreased to 65kms in 1½ years and i repaired my battery under warranty and now im getting close to 80
@charanreddy2504 my battery not repaired company provide today generation scooter why they not provide the range...
There is a option of switching off ‘Smart’ of SMART ECO and use regular ECO mode in 450x.
Indeed!
If you have questions, please ping us after.

Should i buy new chetak? i am concerned about quality of battery pack which is made in china
Hey Sumit! We haven't tested the updated Chetak yet - so we cannot comment. As to batteries, you should know that almost all of the cells in almost all of the batteries come from China, globally. Many brands assemble their battery packs here, but the cells inside are all sourced roughly the same way.

Any quick thoughts on what works better for an average family user? Commute is short. ~20KM.
River is much costlier , for a reason
Hey @rjv_mntn! We'd say test ride both first. The River is the better overall scooter but less comfortable than than Rizta, and it has much fewer features.
Based on your review the only people I see buying it is Brand loyalists or brand seekers... No doubt ather created a solid brand with the 450, now it's milking the brand for all it's worth with the Rizta... As I see it Rizta isn't worth buying and is a pure high margin play for ather with the cheap build quality and low attention to design.
Yeah the design sucks😅
Nah rizta is good 👍
Vida and new chetak beat rizta by 15-20% in pricing with same specs.

Thanks for letting us know Prabhu!
I have been using the 450x gen 3 for the last 2 years and with that experience I'm writing this comment...
Pros :- super handling, fun to ride
Cons:-
1.The seat is not so comfortable
Dramatic reduction in range within 2 years

Yes @swaggychicken. But the scooter remains functional even without ProPack so it's not exactly a necessity. But this seems like the way forward.
