      Так даже сейчас жители Покровска не представляют как живут жители Авдеевки. 3-4 месяца без воды если перебит водопровод. Ну или даже взять Донецк, жители Ворошиловского района не представляют как живут жители окраин. А там и до войны местами жесть была.

    • @jeronimopronto7952
      @jeronimopronto7952 7 лет назад +3

      В Покровске в 2014 году так же небыло воды около полугода, когда был перебит водопровод и шли активные бои в том районе. В город привозили огромные цистерны с питьевой и технической водой. Люди во дворах многоэтажек бурили скважины для воды, они до сих пор там сейчас есть и многие ими пользуются уже вместо центрального водопровода.

    Моя бабушка живет в Осипенко. Хорошее, большое село. Есть школа, Православная церковь. Да, есть также другие религиозные течения, как и везде. Здесь показана бедная семья, которая еще не обустроилась, таких там много. Но можно найти и красивые богатые дома с водопроводом, канализацией (сливной ямой) и т.д. Есть клуб, где дети занимаются танцами, вокалом.

    • @KMiNT21
      @KMiNT21 7 лет назад +4

      Так это обычные нормальные дома, которые с водопроводом и сливной ямой. :) С Интернетом там только проблема. Я как приезжаю - без необходимости даже не пытаюсь мобильной связью пользоваться. Правда, я не уверен, что по всему селу так, не проверял.
      Да вообще это село очень "мощное" и большое по кол-ву населения, в отличии от многих других.

I understand the situation in which this family turned out, support them, wish them luck and happiness and waiting for the end of this stupid war.

      Exceptional as in exceptionally good - or exception as in deviation? Exceptional and exception mean very different things. Exceptional is an adjective connoting outstanding (in a positive sense beauty, goodness) or ideal. Exception means a single difference. Every family is the same, this one is different; this can include a positive or a negative connotation.

This could be because Peter mentioned in an interview that the father previously had addiction issues and many in Ukraine are able to get better through certain churches, including foreign protestant/lutheran/adventist/etc that come as missionaries and have more support resources. It's different, but if it helps their family, power to them

    Thank the creators for these amazing videos! As far as i understand, the family moved from war affected region to escape it's horrors. No wonder they don't have access to so many things. However, though friendly, they are not a typical family in Ukraine. The praying sessions and the cooking habits are a bit strange.

    For me, as for citizen of Dnipro, this village culture is a little scaring. The morning pray, cruel killing frogs (can't watch this).. But the rest is exactly real life. Not only in the country side but even in the cities. But I really admire their love of life even without such simple things like shower, cars, malls, cinema.. They just live and love it.

    3:15. In America we call that 'water dousing'. Here it's usually done with a "Y" shaped twig (tree or shrub branch).
    Who could've guessed that rockets would be raining down on Ukraine from Russia four years later.
    7:12. The frog hunter smacks the frogs he's caught the way I smack fish I've caught. Both to keep them from getting away and to end their suffering. Frogs legs are delicious. Used to be able to buy them in American supermarkets.

    You found such a paradoxical family!) Not all families in Ukraine are religious. Judging by the video of the ruined house in Avdeevka, this is a family of refugees from the war on the Donbass. It is also unusual that the family has three children. This is a rarity for the eastern part of Ukraine. Frogs and snails - everybody wrote about this already)))
    You should visit a village in the central part of the country, also the western part, maybe even very beautiful villages in the Carpathian mountains. And to make a video not only about refugees from Donbass in a village in the east of the country;)
    But thank you for new side of view to our country! Take care!

    Dear Peter! Thank you for coming to our country. This is certainly a brave act and very important. You really got into a good family, which, not willingly, suffered the difficulties of the war, which took away everything from them, but left the strength of spirit and kindness. Keep blogging, you're done! Good luck to you and most importantly do not listen to anyone and do not read "lies.
    And one more thing, this family lives destitutely poor, in comparison with other villages, but this is not an indicator of life in the Ukrainian villages. If you succeed, you will definitely go to Chernivtsi or Mukachevo - this is western Ukraine, full of ethnic color and everyday life. Thank you again, God bless you :))

I will greatly miss them when I leave.

    I grew up in Ukraine and I've seen people live like that side by side with rich people. I've seen very very similar families and even worse. i would really appreciate if you have english subtitles for my husband, I can understand but have to translate everything for him.
    Really enjoy your vlogs, keep them coming! I do agree the family you are staying with are some sort of religious people who believe in different religion. But it's okay as long as they nice to you and you can see their live and traditions.
    Eating frogs and snails are not very unusual for poor families, i've seen my neighbors do it and personally I've never tried them. Ukraine is very diverse and the difference between poor and rich is tremendous and there is no middle class unfortunately.... good luck thanks for sharing!

      Yes, we do have English subtitles. Just click CC at the bottom of the video.
      Thank you :) Yes, I've gotten very lucky with this family. I feel like I'm part of them now.
      Frogs and snails happened once. They are also eaten in the finest French Restaurants. So I was eating fine-dinning French food deep in the Ukrainian countryside. And they were delicious.
      Yes, Ukraine is the banya... hot/cold, poor/rich, food excellent/food terrible, great service/miserable service, etc. It works in the extremes... not much in the middle here.

    Хоча - я не їм, і не знаю нікого в селі хто їсть, але я з великого міста, і не бачив всього. Принаймні ще у 50-ті роки навколо жили байбаки, а тепер їх з'їли, то чого не їсти і все інше? I visited many places in Ukraine, and I can say that this is really not typical Ukrainian behaviour. This can't give you a true impression of our country. You should have visit Carpathians, western part of Ukraine. It's very olorful and maybe authentic places.
      As for me, I live in in a city with a population of 1 million ppl, which is located at a distance of 500 kilometers from there (Kharkiv) and I've never seen that you saw. This is not considered normal in our society, what they do. But everyone has the opportunity to do what they want. The problem (in my humble opinion) is that you chose them to learn something unusual about our country. But this doesn't give an impression about life in the Ukrainian village.

      I lived in Donetsk for 20 years (the last 2 in Kyiv now) and this is exactly what village life is like in that part of Ukraine. The thing is, not everyone in Ukraine is as capable as his hosts are. They are unusual in that they are evangelical Christians and charismatic and they live a very clean and simple life. We have spent a lot of time in the villages in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions and I find this very similar to what we have experienced over the years. Now that we live in Kyiv, we realize we didn't really "know" Ukraine, because Ukraine is diverse in all of it's regions. As we now have traveled and visited Nationals in every region, we are learning new aspects of Ukraine each time. It is a wonderful, amazing and very unique country.
