Wonderful video. Those colors were beautiful. When i talk to people about going underground they generally don't understand why I would want to do that, and picture caves and mines as 'a bunch of dirt'. A lot of people don't realize what they are missing. Mother Nature is an amazing artist... both above and below the ground... as shown in your videos. I can't wait to get out that way and explore more on my own! Keep up the inspiration! Thank you!
Thanks for the nice comment. Let me say that there are plenty of undesirable things in mines, but, also some beautiful things, too. You will definitely get dirty while exploring underground. The things I like seeing are the colorful minerals, timbering made by masters of their craft, and the maze of workings with chutes and ladders seeming like an adult jungle gym. You might enjoy our video of the Kaleidescape Mine, which is one of the most colorful mineral veins we have seen.
Hey, Adam. Yes, a very colorful mineral vein at this mine. We still have another upper level to explore so will have to make the hike up once more. Thanks for watching!
Thanks, Gunny! It’s a pretty crazy mine with some beautiful mineral veins. The music is from one of my old blues bands and the song is named 'Help Me'.
Wow great video! Especially love seeing that old gobbing, natural timbers and strap rail. That was a pretty dang old mine. Keep up the great work Tom and Julie.
Very beautiful mine, thanks for videoing it. All these videos I watch of you guys Julie is mostly in the front. She sets a fast pace for you to follow and is not afraid to venture into unexplored areas. Glad you two are partnered up.
Haha She's the star I'm just the camerman. It is nice to have someone to give the video scale and action versus just a plain mine adit. She's a good explorer and usually not afraid of much. The mn eras in this one are great! Thanks for watching, Graham.
Good job on the video..These Amateur mines, meaning easy to get into, most or all of the artifex are gone...The pickers clean them out...What a shame....Looks like they have been having some seismic activity ...its not going to last much longer...Too bad.....Thanks again...................JB............
Yes, most of the cool things in mines that are easy to get to are gone, and many are full of graffiti. This one might not last much longer due to collapse. Thanks for the comment, JB!
Wow I absolutely love everything about this mine the geology timbering an the over all look thanks for sharing Tom/Julie I’m late again ever since I turned 60 I keep forgetting 😂😂😂😂 shout out to frankaroni 👍 as always be safe 👍👍
That’s a really small mine. It appears that you two were bent over for the whole explore.Tom you got in your arobics with the ladders. I hope you bought Julie a great dinner for leading the way ..Lol. Thanks for sharing. 👍👍
Yes, a lot of the drifts are fairly low. Some of this mine is collapsed and some of the higher up workings we never got up to. We might make one more trip up here to finish it off. Thanks, Jacob!
Wow! The blue veins really pop in your video! I don't recall them being that vivid. Not sure how they'll come out in my video because my lights tend to wash out colors like that. This was a nice, well-packed video of the entire mine. Definitely one of the more unusual mines in regard to its layout being like Swiss cheese.
It is an unusual layout for sure. The colors are amazing. I remember the blue seemed to glow even after you took the light away. We might go back again next year to find the upper adits. Max told me after we got back from this trip that the higher adits were really interesting. Thanks for the comment, Frank!
Thanks for sharing guys, cool adventure you had.. Do you have ways of marking the paths that you take so you don't get lost? Hope your weekend is going well. Full View and Like always..
Great video you two, I seen you on Frank's channel. I hear Frank in the background, Hey Frank! Flashback Ren here lol. Are you cooking lunch or dinner there today?. Wow feeling another flashback coming on, see yeah.
Tom, your voice is familiar..did you appear in a star trek series? The videography is very good , I enjoy the hike in as well as the mine, don't see that much on other mine explore channels. Thanks and you two stay safe.
Haha, no Star Trek for me, although that would have been a good gig. We started off as a hiking channel so I guess that's normal for us to include some of the hike to the mine. Sometimes that the most fun part of the explore. Thanks for the nice comment, Dan!
What do you carry in your backpacks, safety gear, first aid supplies, camera gear, lunch? You could do a short video on your packs. Be safe guys, take care of each other.
Between the two of us we carry a folding shovel, 100 feet of rope, first aid kit, extra water and food, wool shirt, fixed blade knife on my belt, small multi tool, fire starter, extra batteries, 2 cameras, phone, gps, oxygen meter, survival tarps, guns, four flashlights plus helmets with headlamps, trekking poles, toilet paper, whistles, gloves, knee pads, a few feet of colored ribbon. Stuff like that. Thanks for the question, Jake.
Great explore. The timbering was amazing. One question. Why doesn’t Julie have a mike? You ask her some question which she reply’s to but we can hear her reply. Her in put about the explore might be enlightening and interesting Just a thought Your videos are great. I’m watching 3-4 a day to get them all in and give them a like. Happy Holidays to both of you and Frank
That's not a bad idea. Right now the cameras we are using don't support an external microphone, but I will definitely keep that in mind. For now if I ask her something I will try to make sure her response is audible. Thanks for watching our videos, Stan!
Boy that place was just loaded with the copper ore.. (well i am assuming the blue is copper ore) What are the yellow tapes hanging down for? So I also assume levels run from A to J.. 10 levels???? If so WOW!
Blue is usually associated with copper. It's hard to tell how many different levels there are here, I'm guessing four or five. Some of the portals are on the same level. The tapes are part of past surveys of the mine. Thanks, Max!
If this mine wasn't in a wilderness area, ol' Max would be up there mining it! A University of Nevada study done in the 60's says there's up to 30 ounces of gold to the ton in some of that ore in the Sacramento #2 mine. I'm surprised people aren't carrying 5 gallon buckets of ore down off that mountain!
It is an interesting mineral vein up at the mine. There are several openings spread out along the ridge. I wonder what is considered the #2 mine? We've been up there three times and still haven't seen all the workings. It’s a relatively short hike, but fairly steep. Tough enough to keep a lot of the people away. Max told us he would make the hike twice per day sometimes.
I did a lot of research on the Sacramento mine a few years ago. I have at least part of the U of N School of Mines study. If your e-mail address is listed in the "About" section of your RUclips channel, I'll send it to you at that address. There is an earlier video about this mine. I don't know if it's still up on RUclips. The fellow who did the earlier video interviewed Max, I think. This mine looks unstable. Dangerous as hell, I would say but the visible ore bodies make me salivate! That's being polite about it!
I took my email off because I was getting so many hokey offers to hawk crap on my channel. I don't recall seeing any videos with Max in them besides mine. We usually see him every year at some point and have made a few videos together. Here is the email: jwigren40@gmail.com
Nice explore Tom , Julie , and Frank ; I'd like to have been there with you , if for no other reason than to have gotten some samples of that beautiful Ore for my Minerals Collection . -- < Doc > .
Julie, you are so pretty and such a pleasant person. Your voice has a calming effect. And, you are just a natural beauty. God did some fine work the day he made you. I mean it in the least creepy way. It is just an honest compliment.
A shout out and big thanks to my friend Max for sharing his knowledge and maps of this mine with us.
Yes, a big thanks to Max for providing those excellent maps!
Lots of color inside! Beautiful outside as well. You guys sure did some climbing to get to this one! Wow!
It's a pretty good hike up the mountain. Yes, lots of color. Thanks, William.
@@TomandJulieMineExploring I was getting a nose bleed just watching! We have nothing close to that out in the east.
Beautiful copper blue in that one. Glad u r back with Frank. Thanks guys fir the tour.
Yes, the blue is fantastic. Frank is always fun to be out exploring with. Thanks, Kimbra.
Another awesome video Tom & Julie & Frank, be safe my friends.
Thanks for watching, Jacque!👍😁
The colors in those ore bodies was just amazing! Bet it was really something in person!
Yes, they were. It's always hard to capture that with a camera in a dark mine, but we try our best.. Thanks for the comment!
That blue is spectacular, I'd give anything to be able to see that in person.
Some of the minerals really seem to glow in this one. It's a good hike up there. Thanks, Jason.
You guys could have a great rock collection with all of the sites you explore. That blue ore was beautiful.
Yes, we have a few that we've picked up. The blue vein is great. Thanks, Clinton.

Like the beautiful mineral veins
There are some nice mineral veins here. Thanks, Linda!😊
Wow great video! Especially love seeing that old gobbing, natural timbers and strap rail. That was a pretty dang old mine. Keep up the great work Tom and Julie.
All that and a colorful mineral vein. We'll have to go back once more to see the rest. Thanks, Jerith!
Very beautiful mine, thanks for videoing it. All these videos I watch of you guys Julie is mostly in the front. She sets a fast pace for you to follow and is not afraid to venture into unexplored areas. Glad you two are partnered up.

I have been there, loved the hike. I followed a "gut" feeling that kept me from going in. Great to see... so jealous right now
It's kind of a crazy mine. Beautiful colors. Thanks, Scott.
The mineralization was fantastic, I’d imagine the copper vein is even more colorful in person. Thanks for sharing, stay safe.
Some of those areas of blue actually seemed to glow after you take the light away from them. Amazing to see in person. Thanks for watching, Dan!

Great Tour through the mine! The first part was really pretty with all the blues. Good to see all 3 of you hiking around. Julie is doing fantastic!!
Yes, the mineral vein is great. Julie needed a day of rest after this one, but she's ready to go again now. Thanks for watching Duane!
Wow I absolutely love everything about this mine the geology timbering an the over all look thanks for sharing Tom/Julie I’m late again ever since I turned 60 I keep forgetting 😂😂😂😂 shout out to frankaroni 👍 as always be safe 👍👍
It is a pretty cool one to explore. Good hike to it, also. I know what you mean about forgetting things. 65 for me next year. Thanks, Steve.
Excellent video Tom & Julie....thanks again...!
Thanks for watching and commenting, Dale!
Loved the explore, thanks Tom & Julie for the share. Nice to see Frank there also.
Always fun to have Frank along. He’s a character. Glad you liked the explore. Thanks, Bernard.

You both do a very good job of exploring 👏 if don't finish one you will return to getting the explor done 😀
We try, Ronnie. I'm afraid we might have to give this mine one last visit. Thanks for watching.

Sometimes we will mark our route with a small rock cairn if we need to. Thanks for watching and good to hear from you, Allen.
Wish I could go once
It's a fun explore and hike. Thanks, Gregory.
Great video you two, I seen you on Frank's channel. I hear Frank in the background, Hey Frank! Flashback Ren here lol. Are you cooking lunch or dinner there today?. Wow feeling another flashback coming on, see yeah.
Yes, Frank was with us on this one. It's a fun mine to see with all the colors. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Nice explore 👍🏻 It’s been so long since I have been in a dry mine, I think I’m getting webbed Feet 😆
I hear ya. We're a little spoiled by the dry desert mines. Thanks for watching.
Tom, your voice is familiar..did you appear in a star trek series? The videography is very good , I enjoy the hike in as well as the mine, don't see that much on other mine explore channels. Thanks and you two stay safe.

May I recall a rock size of a school bus fell while we were down a hole, it was a challenge to get out.
That doesn't sound so good.
17:56 three Orbs!!

It is a great mineral vein. There are a few others like it that we have seen. You could have a good collection just from this area. Thanks, Doc!

I think you Julie blush a little when I read her your comment, Paul. She thanks you for the kind words.😊
