John you are looking great .. I met you for the first time at Seattle international raceway. I worked on the starting line . I didn’t know who you were after you came down just to meet me. You walked away and Craig and Rick Hewy said do you know who that was. John Force. I’ll never forget that. Now I know who you are ..

Surprised he didn't mention that Robert went nearly 340mph (339.87) ! Love these interviews - a very relaxed John Force!

Are looking forward to coming back to Bradenton next February for the Shootout? Been too long since all the big dawgs have been here all together. Need to make as much noise as possible since they're wanting to build houses next to the track.

0:55 John is right NHRA will never go back to the quarter mile and you know why safety reasons. In the 90s NHRA had tracks that were a mile long but once Vegas and ZMax opened they had to shorten it. Also in the 90s and early 2000s John was racing against Schumacher and back then sabotage was allowed today it is not allowed and you can not place illegal mods on your cars or take parts from other teams. Case in point Team Force lost two drivers Eric Medlen in 2007 and Scott Kalitta in 2008 and John wrecked at Dallas in a qualification crash. Because of this quarter mile and full mile are a no no you need room to stop. At 100 feet blow the chutes and if you catch fire you get out. In the 90s and 2000s none of the NHRA cars had these systems and the big jets they test on the Salt Flats and the jet boats they broke apart when they crashed and killed their drivers with the last one to die Jessie Combs. Today all Nitro and Jets have escape capsules and if any thing goes wrong systems engage to shut everything down. So no quarter mile in the NHRA. After Eric died if anything happens to the brakes chutes deploy, after Scott died if you catch fire you pull the cutoff and blow your chutes and get out through the hatch, after John wrecked in Dallas all cars have padding and a roll cage and the frame is designed to break at the axles not at the driver box or the capsule thats why Brittany and Leah survived their crashes, and after Jessie Combs was killed all jet cars and jet boats have an auto shutoff if the driver does something that is unsafe. This is why we are not going back to quarter mile or full mile it is unsafe.
