Every time Michel Pereira does a backflip into guard, he is technically breaking the unified rules of NOT KICKING A DOWNED OPPONENT in the head. He gets away with it because the ref is too hypnotized by the acrobatics. Go back and watch the Niko Price fight. HOW do you think Pereira went so easily from a ridiculous back flip to full mount? --- Price was looking towards the ref, expecting a penalty against Pereira because he got a shin/foot to the forehead while he was on his back... nothing from ref = full mount.
Incorrect. He got away with it because he was aiming for the chest , if your opponent maneuvers his head Into your strike it's their fault. Like when weili landed 2 or 3 elbows to the back of Jessica Andrades head, weili hit her ear and then Andrade moved the back of her head into the rest.

@@delageezy4790 Neither are eye pokes. Eye pokes are more often than not accidents, but they are still against the rules and fights get stopped all the time for them... at least to let the fighter on the receiving end of the poke get some time to recover from an illegal move - no matter what the intentions, no matter how severe the poke. I get that it's a fight, but it is also a sport with rules and a ref.... I feel like fans often forget this
I understand but pereira was in the air there for landing from a fall technically. He was not on both feet and then kicking price in the face. Can’t get penalized for falling and landing on someone. I might be wrong but that’s how I perceived it.
@@delageezy4790 Pushing the goal posts and grasping at straws here buddy. Simone Biles is the best "faller" in the world then. Anthony Pettis wasn't on both feet for that iconic cage kick (or cage fall, from your perception). This goes back to your original argument about malicious intent. It's a fight dog. It's all malicious intent. There are certain moves that are illegal though, no matter what intent you may or may not have. Pereira backflipped with the INTENT of passing guard, which he did. He also accidentally landed an illegal move without knowing it. He "unknowingly" performs this move OFTEN, however, which is all I'm pointing out.

Because it was not with malicious intention.

@@brooksmiller5597 exactly his intent was to pass guard not to kick him in the face. but I get your points bud.
