    This is good if you want permanent results. But if you put too much or want to sell on the racquet it's a bit of a hassle. I've found the easiest method is put Saran Wrap (cling film) up there. No mess, adds weight, shock absorption and pulls right out if needed.

      Agree, you should only use silicone if you know exactly how much weight you want to add and that you'll be using the racket for a while. I the other video about 10 ways to weight the racket I talked a bit about this. For non permanent solutions I use cotton balls with lead balls or tungsten putty, but I never though of cling film. I would think you need a lot of it for a couple of grams.

      @@MihaFlisekIT You would be surprised how much you can get in the handle. I just put a 24"x12" sheet in there and it adds two grams. I could probably fit six more sheets in the one tube so that's 12g, then there is the other tube, so 24g. Not sure who would need more than that, but you could probably jam more in there if needed. I put it in loose so I can get it out, if needed by a coat hanger and make a hook at the tip.

      Another little hack I tried, when changing grommets, I put little pieces inside the frame through the holes at 9+3 and 12. Dampens and adds weight.

      @@LukeChristo It seems like a good idea. Do you have pictures of how you did it?

    • @LukeChristo
      @LukeChristo 4 года назад +1

      @@MarceloRodrigues-ch1lv Just take off the end cap, take a long screwdriver and put some of the plastic wrap on the tip and shove it up there. You can always get it out with a coat hanger. Good luck.

    nice - I use Blutac these days - works well and is also not permanent

      It's a lot like tungsten putty only less dense I believe, but yeah it can work too.

      Blu-Tak doesn't render the same feel as silicone. If you like it then use it, but typically on prostock frames they use silicone or resin in the handle because of the feel it gives.

    Hi, how to add 5g join to inside butt cap off Wilson Prostaff V14 racquet. Thanks

      You can Pierce through the foam and make space.

    Insider like it. The strings get muted and it doesn’t increase comfort

    • @MihaFlisekIT
      @MihaFlisekIT  3 года назад

      Increased comfort mostly comes from increased polarization because of the extra weight in the handle. But yes, the response is more muted, but some might prefer that.

    What’s the best way to remove silicone from the handle? Ice pick? Screw driver?

    • @MihaFlisekIT
      @MihaFlisekIT  3 года назад

      I use pliers and a screw driver. It's very hard though.

    Thanks for the video. How would you add silicone if you knew exactly where to add weight in the handle ?

    • @MihaFlisekIT
      @MihaFlisekIT  Год назад +1

      I only use silicone when I want to add Wright to the bottom of the handle. For higher up the handle I would use lead or create channels in the handle for bigger weights.

      @@MihaFlisekIT Thank you. I was thinking about using a ruler to push weight to the right spot

    Someone need to invent something to put like a small compartment underneath the butt cap so if we plan to remove the silicone someday it would be easier. Do I make sense? Maybe can use a 3D printer and measure the diameter of the handle

    • @MihaFlisekIT
      @MihaFlisekIT  3 года назад

      Makes sense. What I do to quickly test different weights is to use small nails and put them in the cured silicone.

    Apparently, customizers just build a racquet, have the pros try it blindly, readjust, repeat, until then they pick what they like....but with silicone, you can’t really adjust. So How do pros determine how much silicone they want in a racquet? And then inject the perfect amount at the perfect location in a handle to match balance, swing weight, recoil weight, etc?

    • @MihaFlisekIT

      I cover this in my other video - 10 ways to increase the tennis racket weight: ruclips.net/video/RlSssdXreJs/видео.html
      You can use weights that can be removed to find the perfect setup, before you inject silicone.

    • @chuckfriebe843

      They'll often use putty first or lead on the grip. At the top of the frame they'll use lead on the top and sides until the player is happy with the balance and swingweight. Once they determine all of that, they then move the lead underneath the grommet and replace the putty or weight of the lead tape on the handle with silicone inside the handle. Then, once the players determine they are happy with the end result of SW, TW, and Balance, they will match the other frames to the first one.

    Just how much silicone is needed to get that prostock solid feel and less vibration? I mean the least needed amount of silicone. I have a prostock tgk 238.2 that ive been trying to copy. Im just afraid of trying the silicone route, cause If I mess up its not reversible.

    • @MihaFlisekIT
      @MihaFlisekIT  5 лет назад

      Depends on the racket really. The most I'we used was 20 g in a pure drive lite and I went 10, 15 and than 20 g and I noticed a more dampened and solid feel at 15g. I wouldn't do it just to change the feel, but only as a way to put weight in the handle.
