- This is not my first time to ride KRL but this is only the time that I made a video for this commuter line that serves Greater Jakarta. I started at Jakarta Kota down to Bekasi then back north to Manggarai then Sudirman Baru heading West as my last destination. Continue watching my video to know more my experiences with this train.

Our railways service used to be a mockery but now they have make us proud with their improvement, not to mention we now produce train cars and exporting them as well. Hope the Philippines can do the same. 👍
im happy for indonesia's progress. I hope we could follow soon. there are a lot of rail projects here in Ph. A lot of catch up work is needed to be done.

FYI, "KRL" is Indonesian term for "Electric Train / Electric Multiple Unit", trains that use electricity as power source. it's technical term not the brand/system's name.
The system itself called Commuter Line.

I only paid 4000 from Kota to bekasi... Funny thing is I consider KRL is more effective than MRT in terms of moving people. What PNR need is electrification.. I think they need to prioritise that over adding MRT/LRT
KRL and MRT have different role though, KRL is suburban rail functions mainly for bringing people from the outskirts (Bekasi, Tangerang, Bogor, etc.) into Jakarta while MRT is for transport within Jakarta urban area, MRT should be compared with Transjakarta BRT as urban rapid transit system in my opinion since MRT and Transjakarta have overlapping role and market

if we're talking about Jakarta's public rail transport, then KRL and MRT are complemented each other. Actually both are (mass) rapid transit.
Go check Tokyo Metro. the whole network of tokyo commuter lines are all MRTs. there's no such a term of "electrify train" (or so called KRL) in their commuter network. Everything's MRT and electric powered. No need for them to differentiate the terms.

12:50 That's Manggarai Sentral, slated to be the biggest railway station in Jakarta (Indonesia maybe) with around 19 platforms (I forget the exact number). It will be operational in 2020 and there is a plan to extend the HSR track from Halim station to Manggarai Sentral (underground station, possibly 2 or 4 platforms) to Gambir (underground station, usually 4 platforms) in the future. LRT Jakarta from Kelapa Gading is planned to pass by in front of the station (elevated station). Plus it serves the airport train bound for SHIA from Bekasi station. I wonder if all these plans are materialized in 2024 than Manggarai Sentral will be second to Bang Sue Bangkok and beating KL Sentral in Kuala Lumpur (I think 15 platforms).
And LRT Jakarta become circular line!
Is there any real plans to extend the hsr to manggarai...? Yes it will serve Jakarta-Surabaya Higher speed trains but, in don't really know if there are any plans to build hsr from halim to downtown...

Wow you do your introduction in Indonesia!!! With perfect prononciation. You can pay anything with local fee which is almost only 10 percent of international tourist fee. Go to Bogor with KRL cheap also. Bogor is really beautiful.
Oh yea, travel tips in indonesia for spicyness chilli level. Theres 4 chilli spicyness level.
1. Green chilli (cabe hijau-indonesia)
The most less spicy and have unique flavor
2. Chayene (cabe merah-indonesia)
Which is known here as red chilli. More spicy than green chilli but soft taste and not so spicy than other 2 below
3. Bird eye chilli (cabe rawit-indonesia)
Small chilli with color green and red. It's more spicy than chayene and you need to aware if your stomach friendly to this kind chilli and also the one below.
3. Ghost pepper ( cabe setan-indonesia)
The most spicy chilli in indonesia that use for public selling foods. If you ever heard about this chilli you know how story about the spicyness. If you read anything food use "setan" word usually means it use ghost pepper.
If you not familiar with spicy foods you need to ask which chilli it use before you buy it. Pecel, karedok and rujak usually use bird eye chilli.

Thank Adrianto Pratikto for covering public transportations in countries in Southeast Asia and East Asia as well. We now know what our public transportation is like and stands compared to those you have covered in other countries. We are still in the process of overriding Japan ( Lol), but anything is possible to achieve and materialize.

I lived and worked in Tokyo. Their trains are much better than Jakarta. When I returned to Indonesia, I transferred plane in Manila. I didn't get out the airport. I have no idea about transportation in Philippines.
Now, it's even better than 3 years ago. Few station like bekasi and other major station got renovated
Regarding andriawan's video on PNR train, although Alabang station seems not in good shape, the Alabang district itself looks clean and well organized, from Google Street view. I hope PNR continue to improve

because pnr is neglected so pnr is not popular anymore.. people prefer to use bus or car when going to province. and use jeep or mrt/lrt when going around the city.

@@Circlevin because it has long routes until the surrounding suburb cities. The fare is too cheap, for longest distance (124km) only IDR 13,000/trip. And the important things, no traffic jams 😅
Bowo Deswantoro only Rp 3000 to Rp 6000 depend the length of destination the Rp. 10.000 only for the deposit of the ticket card.

i hope you can take trip by CL ( Comutter line ) to stasiun Bogor from jakarta kota, someday. Bogor city has a lot of spot for culinary or vaarious dishes. There's a big garden named " Kebun Raya Bogor" or Bogor Botanical Garden.

@@Circlevin Don't go to Bogor, you ll be disappointed ... the city is not neat that's why the city is called 'million of angkot city", there are a lot of angkot (mini bus) that stop and take passengers everywhere, it's chaotic.
Yes Jakarta's commuter line is so nice so clean and comfort and on time always .....same like MRT ...Jakarta KRL is so helping people in Jakarta to work and bussines everyday ....Sooo clean and comfort with maximum cool air conditioner that very amazing!

First coach/carriage and last coach/carriage in CL/KRL are for women only (and boy toddlers).
In MRT, it is the first carriage in rush hour 16-19.
Yes, CL/KRL has wonderfully moved people more effectively than MRT simply because of more lines in operation. We only have one MRT line. Also the fare is so cheap so it serves as incentive to leave vehicles at home.

It's sad to see the Bekasi Station has bad infrastructure compare to other stasions in blue line (Jakarta Kota - Bekasi) even if compared with Kranji station which it's next to Bekasi stasion. Bekasi is not the end. On that route also train to Cikarang but must wait another hours if you're failed to get the train (late).
