Nyx, the number one thing to remember, all the delve monsters are protected by the darkness, they gain huge resistance to damage if there is no light on them. So when you're in the Vaal outpost or the abyssal Depths and you come across those circles that light up, stand in them for longer periods of time than you were before. Then you don't have to worry about having a harder time killing the enemies and plus you'll see everything better. This will also save you using your flares.

24:05 My general approach to delve is go as deep as my character can go currently, then start going sideways. The deeper you go, the higher tier and frequent the loot becomes. Go too deep, and now you're burning sulphite, time, or both.
There's a lot more strategy beyond that like: which biomes offer specific rewards, the rules to fractured walls(all nodes connect to either 1,3, or 4 other nearby nodes, never 2), build specialization to spend the least amount of time in maps for sulphite, stacking flare radius/duration to avoid paying tons of azurite for darkness upgrades, or making delve into a side hussle with the Mining Byproducts atlas notable.
Like you said earlier in the video, delve is *deep* enough to be its own game.

In fact, the unique ring at 36:37 is a special drop from this mechanic.
Each boss will drop Ruby, Topaz, and Sapphire rings, all named #'s Mountain/Meadow/Valley.
Selling one ring of each of Mountain, Meadow, and Valley to the vendor will convert them into a Precursor's Emblem.
The base of the Precursor's Emblem will depend on the base of the rings sold.
Three Ruby rings will result in a Ruby Precursor's Emblem with three Endurance Charge affixes.
If the three rings are a Ruby, a Topaz, and a Sapphire ring, the result will be a Prismatic Ring with one Endurance Charge, one Frenzy Charge, and one Power Charge affix, and so on.
Another thing, if you right-click on the skill upgrade prompt on the right side of the screen, you can hide the reminder without upgrading. You can upgrade in the bottom of the backpack when you need to upgrade.

    1. The ruby ring you dropped on the vaal architect is a ring that can be assemble with 2 other rings. Not the most meta ring but it's unique to this delve boss so it's not a common unique.
    2. The delvers usually go at 300 depths minimum (loot and difficulty increase with depth)
    3. The best loot is usually behind the fractured walls. Delvers are chasing fractured walls. There are a few methods to guess where they can be when you open the delve map (usually it's when there is more than one tile of distance between 2 events)
    4. When you are in the chambers you liked with all those loots (abyssal, vaal, etc), if you stay on the circle on the ground (red or green circle), it lighten the room you are in, you need to stay a couple second on it they you can move and the room is lighten up.
    5. You deal basically no damage to monster that are in the dark, that's why it might have felt a bit clunky from times to times to kill stuff.
I enjoyed the video very much, felt like I was delving for the first time!! Thanks Nyx, hope you will give a new try to heist somedays, quite a unique mechanic aswell!

Mostly agree but the best loot being behind fractured walls is not true. So there are two types of fractures walls. This will be super over explained for you who obviously knows the game, @rm6095, but the extra detail is for newer players.
      1. stubs along paths: once in a blue moon you get a 4socket resonator from these but on average they're trash. Most delvers skip all of these. Economically speaking you'll generate a higher expected value / time played if you just rush to the next azurite node and use that azurite to buy 1socket resonators from Niko.
      2. hidden paths from nodes: whenever there is a node on your subterranean chart that is disconnected, that means there is a fractured wall somewhere that will reveal a path on the chart if you blow it up. Sometimes the reward types behind these are good (e.g. specific fossil nodes other than smuggler's stashes, bosses, and special item nodes like cold item nodes or redblade retreats). If you get access to a good node on the chart by blowing up the wall up, then obviously go for it. Otherwise give them a skip.
There are a few tricks to identify where the hidden path walls are located on your chart, but lots of other commenters have already mentioned them.

If you haven't noticed already, each league mechanic has specific item acquisition and crafting methods associated with them. The design lets you play only the mechanics you want on trade and still acquire other items via trading. But you'd actually have to do a lot of them if you were playing SSF. Delve is all about fossil and resonator crafting. On trade you usually hunt for the bosses. They drop unique items that are worth quite a lot on trade. You can also acquire items with delve specific modifiers like curse on hit rings for example, so on ssf you could also use it to find gear with specific mods. It's also the only mode with infinite scaling, so some players play it purely to go as deep as possible and get to the top of the delve ladder.

In the Vaal, Abyssal, and other similar "cities" where you go underground to open chests, instead of dropping flares you can simply stand on the glowing plates on the floor. They are a large circle surrounded by the theme's light color (red, blue, turquoise greenish) and as you stand on them it will light up the rooms adjacent where the loot is after about 2 seconds. You'll see them just after walking in the main room, and also at the end with all the loot boxes

You do delve for fossils, uniques from the bosses and some loot like really down. Fossils allow for some specific crafting where you not only augment the chance for some mods but you can also block mods (read them), it's a bit more complex than just spaming essences. You could get a lot more of those by blowing the walls but you need to go into the darkness to find those. Also delve is infinite ish so you can go down as much as you want and it gets harder and more rewarding.

  • @henrikswanstrom9218
    @henrikswanstrom9218 5 месяцев назад +6

Delve is one of the few infinitely scaling content in the game. The deeper you go the harder the monsters become and the better loot you get.
Since you're only at the beginning of delving the loot you get is very modest.
As you reach deeper that's really where the profit come from. As you go deeper you will start to see larger stacks of currency Orbs, Fossils and Azurite drop.
You'll also see a much higher frequency of profitable delve destinations like Delve Bosses, Special Fossil nodes et.c.
The main purpose of Delve is to farm content for items exclusive to Delve only. A major part of delving is fossils and resonators for very specified crafting. Fossils and Resonators alone can be very profitable the price of them ranging from 1 chaos up to 1 divine per fossil. The special Delve bosses also have a chance at dropping very profitable loot. For example, the last boss you killed has a 30% chance to drop a map named Doryanni's Machinarium which is worth 30 divine orbs.
Delve is alot about discovery and efficiency. If you're really interested to learn how to Delve properly you want to leave the path of your cart and venture into the darkness with Flares and Dynamites. It's inside the darkness where your cart doesn't go that majority of fossils, resonators and azurite lies. Especially behind Fractured Walls.
Usually during the beginning when Delving it's not that worth it to waste your team darkness hunting since the rewards at lower levels aren't that great. In the beginning you usually want to focus your time on getting deeper down. It's usually around delve depth ~400 where you will start to notice large improvements in the loot. Blowing up fractured walls down there often result in Fossil nodes worth several divines per wall blown if you get the correct Fossil Nodes, Prime Chaotic Resonator Chests or Oppulent currency chests.
When you do Darkness farming it's very important to have maximum Darkness Resistance(75%) and maximum Flare Radius(150%). You also want to increase your flare quantity to a minimum of ~10 and maximize dynamite quantity(7).

    • @AGR_13
      @AGR_13 5 месяцев назад

I would just say go straight down, going and farming side walls for fossils just slows you down and is less money per hour. Also delve caps at 6k and stops scaling past that. players like Muir, rudy, steve, misha etc. who go deep past that are doing it A. Because they enjoy it and B. because it is the only numerically challenging content left in the game.

    • @henrikswanstrom9218
      @henrikswanstrom9218 5 месяцев назад

@@AGR_13 It all depends on what you like doing. Normally I would say stay away from the darkness too, but this league in particular fossils are very valuable. Many mid tier fossils are 3-8 for one divine.
If you're efficient with locating fractured walls I'd say always blow them up. They add ~10 seconds per wall to your Delve.
Fractured walls are very systematic and easy to find once you know how Delves are designed. In 90% of cases you always know when there's going to be a wall ahead.
Whenever I do delving I find substantially higher profits when I blow up walls along the way rather than just pushing for Delve bosses. I think a combination of the two is the best since usually, around 50% of my profits come from Fossils and Resonators while the rest comes from Delve boss drops. Even of the bosses have much higher loot potential it's often duds and I think it's a lost opportunity to not blow up walls along the way checking if there's fossils inside.

  • @tentra7548
    @tentra7548 5 месяцев назад +17

@NyxVellum - the idea behind delve is to rush to deeper depths and farm horizontally.
Ideally depth 350+ starts giving nodes that can drop seriously expensive items, especially boss nodes, set your maven atlas up to give as much sulphite as possible, use gilded or polished sulphite scarabs on each map to fill your bar and then keep descending

NyxVellum+ Most players use Delve to make currency getting fossils, that are used for crafting.
However at league start, I do the nodes with crafting recipes first. Then the Vaal Depths for Maps. Then Elemental, Chaos and Currency Nodes.
The Elemental nodes can get you stuff like an Ignite Staff with both Flat and percentage 🔥 fire damage. As well as all the other stuff you can think of.
The Chaos nodes can have Chaos resistance boots or a lvl 85 Bow with percentage and flat Chaos damage.
Delve is a gateway to certain kinds of loot, not found anywhere else in PoE. This is the way.
For instance if you swapped your weapon with a Physical to Lightning conversion with flat lightning, & a Herald of Thunder with Increased Duration support. You turn into a human bug zapper anytime you hit anything with your weapon. All thanks to Delve.

@@NyxVellum There's two kinds, either one counts for the quest. There are random ones that spawn in the caves off of the main path of the crawler, and there are ones that block your way to hidden nodes on the map, the one you tried looking for at one point. The second kind, you already know they're there because the map tells you. To find those, just manually search nearby nodes for a crawler path that isn't marked on the map. Once you find an obvious path, run through it in the dark until you hit the wall blocking your way, drop a flare (wall can't be damaged without light), drop a dynamite, then return to the node you came from.

Delve was my favorite league. One thing you are missing out on is all the side passages, especially on a long path. When you get a lot of flares going into those side passages off of where bear goes is where you find some of the best loot, especially behind walls. On a really long path there could be a dozen paths to the sides filled with loot. So a lot of time I will go to the side paths until I run out of flares/dynamite, then finish the path, go back to the top of the mine to get more flares/dynamite then run back along the lighted path and hit the remaining side passages (use the map to see) to get all the loot. Delve is great for getting a lot of maps and fossils. The amount of currency is insane too.

I just came to tell you Nyx, that you are really a skilled player and ... that you have a really good observation, deductions... well... unless that does not apply, but as it is in PoE there is an exception to everything :D
I kept smiling how you delved deeper and deeper into this league mechanic, and question after question you asked yourself during that video, you basicaly answered to yourself as well to it's end. And no matter if intentionaly, knowingly or intuitively. It's /lifting my imaginery hat! :)
The depth of delve is bottomless, sort of an endless dungeon and it's just up to your skill and character strenght how far you can make it. The deeper you get, the crazier it gets. You can keep expanding the mines verticaly, going down and deeper, or you can stay at a specific depth and expand horizontaly to the left or right sides (endlesly).
There are builds specificaly for this mechanic created, like the glasscannons for deep delving, either kill first or you're dead in place focusing on pure dmg, ignoring anything else, or the Darkness explorers without the sulphite need and the "bear" :)
On a side note: I am not sure what the deepest achievement is done so far, but iirc it was in tens of thousands below surface! 💣💥🙆‍♂🤯
Yes, the Fossils are the prime source from delve, you can get them nowadays from other resources, but they are mainly comming from the Azurite Mine.
There have been / are also unique bosses and encounters related to the Mines with unique drops.
And yes, as you very well mentioned in the video, this could be easily sold as a separate game on it's own. Actualy several of the in-game mechanics are basicaly games in a game, mini-games (be it Delve, Heist, Betrayal, Incursion, HIDEOUTS creation etc. they each live by their own story and focus/playstyle) yet, remaining interconnected with rest of the PoE space and events.
In Delve, you have more sort of a direct control over focusing on the kind of a loot you would like to get. ie. if you need some items or jewelry for vendor recipes, or w/e? Just look for the corresponding Mine node. Same applies for things like looking for gems, maps, strongboxes, div. cards, or currency, etc.
Another fact about the Delve... regarding the Darkness
In the former ideas about Path of Exile before it was released, was the idea that the monsters will be extremely powerfull when they are in darkness, but in the final decision about the release this was "discarded" as being too hard. After years, the idea was implemented backwards within Delve and the looming Darkness shows how the game could have been looking like normaly.
So yeah, a bit brutal :D
Well... so much to tell more, but yeah, I enjoyed watching this one! :) ♥
/cheers and congratulations on your Twitch! :)

So why you would go into delve is a few things:
    - Fossils. These sell really well in trade league or allow you to craft in a very profitable way if you are SSF. There are a few very interesting fossils that are very rare, that allow you to do things like get very hard to find modifiers on gear.
    - Rings. The rings you found from the bosses can be sold in specific patterns to get better.
    - Unique modifiers. There are certain nodes that can drop items with very special modifiers. For example a fire node could potentially drop rings that say: curse enemies on hit with flammability. This could be a huge item on its own. What's even better is that these can drop as fractured items and be worth many divines.
    - Currency. The amount of drops keep going up the deeper you go. In those cities you did, I have had a single city give me like 30 awakened sextants and it's not even that rare to get that, and it is very consistent.
The biggest mistake you were making is not getting flares and dynamite. If you know how to navigate the darkness along your path, you can get a lot of good stuff there.

farming darkness is definitely not the way to go this league. Doryani machinarum is worth 35 div, the curiosity aspect 11 div, aul can drop the blue ring worth 30 div, etc. The loot this league comes from looking for bosses and secondarily going to expensive fossil nodes on the way to the bosses. Also primeval citadels may contain an azurite vein that contains like 20k-60k azurite depending on how deep you are, and at this point in the league it's about 13k azurite for 1 divine.

I have not played this league, but yeah the meta determines which aspects of delve are the ones to go after. You can only estimate that once you master the entire thing though.
And it can also change depending on where you are in the league. This is the case with many other league mechanics as well.

Delve is really good for creating materials. Resonators make creating so much easier for high tier crafting, and they're worth a fortune. Delvers basically fund all resonator sales on trade leagues.

You mentioned "delve could be a roguelike" - We've occasionally gotten events where you can ONLY delve, and you can't do maps. It creates an interesting playstyle where the only way to craft is through the things you find in delve, such as fossills and resonators. Personally i'm not a big delve fan, but tons of people like the event. Also, the beauty of Delve is that it's truly infinite, you can go down as much as your build allows you to, or horizontally once you've found that "sweet spot" of difficulty/reward for your character.

A good strategy is to fully take all Atlas nodes for Delve. Then you use your Sulphite to go straight down until you reach a level that has a good balance between difficulty, sulphite cost and reward. Many Delvers say that such a depth is around 200-230. From there you collect the azurite to max out your resistance, your light radius and you push the duration and light radius of your flares. Now you just explore sideways as you please, the mine is infinite in size. I personnally explore all the dark corridors to find walls and other treasures. And try to focus on areas with a frame around them on the map, they are called cities and provide better loot. Since you wont need azurite any more, you can use it to buy resonators from Niko for resale in bulk

The delve map is basically a grid, each grid spot that doesn't have a node will have a wall you can blow up with dynamite to access a small area with some loot chests which is mostly where fossils come from or sometimes a path to an otherwise inaccessible node. In the city nodes, you can light up the area temporarily by standing on the circle things on the floor for a short time. The boss fights generally have a small light patch in the dark phases that changes place so you can drop darkness stacks without using flares. Also there is a cosmetic that actually turns the cart into a bear but it was from a previous supporter pack.

Hello. the way i do it is - upgrade the sulphite amount you can get. This way you do a few maps, load up with 40-50k suphite and then blast in the mine for a longer time. Upgrade amount of flares to over 10, dynamite to over idk 4-5. i dont really do a lot of delving but this is the correct way. this way you dont have to do a map every 5 minutes. Delve keeps getting harder the deeper you go so if it gets really hard just go sideways, dont go down until you upgrade your character. I'm sure there are a lot of things more to be said but this is just a few tips. oh and on the question "why do this?" - delve bosses drop some pretty expensive loot and also with Azurite you can buy resonators. they are expensive in bulk

Delve's main point is dropping fossils and boss loot which is a bunch of uniques that only drops from the bosses. Boss uniques that are interesting are Aul's amulet (he's a wolf icon on the map if you find one) and fragments for unique rings.
Generic fossils can be interesting for certain crafting methods since their main purpose for a lot of crafting is not to directly increase one outcome, but to make the pool of possible mods much smaller by blocking undesirable mods (like dense fossils making defense mods more likely and making it so you can't roll life, which is really good for characters that need a lot of defensive stats on the chest and either don't need life (chaos inocculation) or can grab the life mastery for free 15%). In extreme cases a 4 socket resonator can be used to make a 1 in a million outcome (+2 minion or chaos gem wands) a 1:12 chance because the right combination blocks out almost every other prefix mod in the pool.
There's also special fossils that only appear in lower depth (like 150 minimum) and those and any of the city areas (-> bosses) become much more common the lower you go. Getting those for SSF can be very important for certain crafts and sadly the mechanic is pretty boring and unrewarding until you've made it to at least 200 depth because it gets repetitive without much of anything dropping pretty quickly.
Generally speaking unless you're going to invest a ton of time into it and make a character that is good at the mechanic, delve can be quite easily skipped unless you're SSF and need the exclusive drops for something

Delve is the league that really hooked me into PoE when it came out in autumn of 2018!
Some people push their builds to the absolute limit with Delve since it scales monster difficulty all the way down to depth ~60,000.
Personally, I Delve for the cities that can give you good map currencies (sextants, chisels, etc.). Once I'm deep enough, I also like backtracking on paths, finding side areas, and blowing up fractured walls. Sometimes, there are chests behind those walls that guarantee a high-tier currency like a divine or exalt. Fossil crafting was interesting when it first came out, but there are better target crafting mechanics nowadays.

Regarding the fractured walls. I was so confused for the longest time where to find them, and the internet was no help at all. So after many many hours of delving my conclusion is this:
    1. you need a longer road to your next destination otherwise there's no walls
    2. they are hidden in the side corridors of the main road, especially in the corners when the road takes turns
    3. lots of fossiles can be found behind them which can be very nice to sell (that's why the red fossile locations are nice as well)
    4. to access the inaccessible locations, you have to find a special fractured wall that (in my experience) is not located in a side corridor during the way, but rather at a side corridor at one of the locations itself around the inaccessible location. Not necessarily the closest one! It has to be the same area theme though than the targeted location, i.e. if the inaccessible is in the petrified forest, the wall to access must be at a location within the petrified forest. Important: destroy that wall, return to your cart, and it will show you that now there's a road available. To be fair, sometimes I still didn't find some...
So what I do is go as deep as possible (400+), look for important locations like red fossil, cities, bosses, and big Azurites. If you have the patience, go into the side corridors, tear down the walls, get more fossiles. At some some point use Azurite to buy Primitive Resonators for profit.

As you mention currencies you dont find in maps, resonators - only in delve, fosils - could be found in maps from certain reward chests (delve specific). Btw most profit from delve is from secret passages in dark and fractured walls destroyed by dinamites and chests behind them.

Very interesting seeing you tackle mechanics of delve, its an old favorite of mine(hehe). AFAIK it goes until 2^16 and you need some very special builds (aka fully immortal with legacy gear) to go there because how the monsters scale. But there are people who play deep delvers every league too. On those tombs you go down you can stand on those circles and they will light the room temporarily, thats how most people do those 😂. On a little poe history tidbit, fossils used to be the best crafting method for intermediate items for a while before easy access to mass essences and other crafting methods.

Delve is the only mechanic that has a separate "ladder" from normal in things like POE ninja because its the hardest scaling content and at low depths you absolutely need specilized builds.
Funny thing though HP scaling of enemies in delve stops relatively early because enemies reach the absolute HP cap rather quickly which cant be exceeded due to programming reasons.

As someone who loves Delve (i do it every league), i liked to see you progress and figuring it out. Sadly you did not get one of the unique items from the bosses. I usually start as soon as i can and later on i indeed use it to level up when i am 60-80% into a level, to then level in Delve, because it is fast. There are builds and ways to be able to pretty much ignore the dmg in there, to explore more on your own (without the "bear"). You have seen that there are sideroads everywhere, going in them give you a lot more of the Delve items and you will see more walls. As you halve saw, as long as you stay behind the "bear", it will slow/stop to move, so that you can explore, else it will just follow you aslong as you go the road that it want to take. And no, Delve never stop, it goes on forever, with the higher you go, the more it cost and there more change to find cities. Love your content man, you do GREAT!

why - fossils and resonators, essentialy. you get them predominantly in delve, and its the only place you can get special fossils from
its a different way of crafting items, very powerful for some things
also reasons wise - items that drop in delve can have delve-only modifiers (if the item has those, I think it drops identified), and bosses drop uniques specific to them that vary in power but some of them are really quite good

You get more sulphite out of your maps based on the tier of the map. So if you're going to use the yellow mission, you might as well use that on a t10 map instead of a t5. So increase your sulphite capacity and use your niko missions or scarabs on tier 16 maps to get the most from it.

easiest way to find the wall is to look at the sulphite price. normal price = no wall. double price = 1 wall. triple price =2 wall and goes on
    also delve is infinite.
You will find some good stuff around depth 300. depth 600 is where it gets really god and 1200 is where it starts getting crazy. and deeper you get the harder and crazier it gets but the reward are also really good. some fossil are worth a lot

  • @Theos.
    @Theos. 5 месяцев назад

resonators are nice, and fossils are fine, but the expensive ones are very rare, and you only find a couple at a time.
for the most part, youre just looking for huge currency drops from completing rooms. the further down you go, the more the loot bomb scales.
the real chase in delve is the boss that starts appearing at depth 300+. you can start finding the big boss of delve, aul the crystal king. he drops an amulet that has quite the variability, and depending on the meta and which version of the amulet you get they can sell for anywhere between 20c to 8+ divine orbs. its quite the price swing. hes quite a difficult boss if you dont have certain levels of defenses, and enough darkness resistance.
there are some other, more interesting rewards you can find in delve. in the "aura and minion" rooms, you can find unique item mods that can be quite good, and cant be found in any other way. some other rooms also have unique delve mod items. of particular note are rings that drop there, so always price check the rings you find in delve.

To answer your question 30:40 a Google search suggests someone reached over 65k+ deep in Delve, although the exact deepest level isn't confirmed. This information was shared on Reddit three years ago.

Outside of pushing to 6k+ depth and fossil/boss farming. Delve is really only useful for moving sideways at depth of 275-350 for experience and outpost cities to amass bubblegum currency, maps and dumping all of your azurite to buy resonators from Niko to sell on trade.

Delve is in infinite dungeon in both depth and width (the map will expand as you explore more and more and more). And it become more difficult as you dig deeper but the rewards are also better.
Myself, I am nearly on a depth of 400 and I find things I can sell for 10-20 divines a piece. If you check on POE Ninja, you can also see that the one who went the deepest in Affliction is at a depth of 20615 right now. What I do is that I try to go deeper, until it is too hard for me, then I go sideways for a while until I get enoug currency to upgrade / buy new gear and then I go down even more.
As for your question on what you can get from delve, the short answer is: everything. The main focus is fossils and resonators but if you target nodes like the cold items you saw midway, then you might get items with that kind of affixes and they sells well on the market. You can find items for cold, fire, lightning, chaos, minion, aura and curses through these nodes.
One last thing: monsters takes no damage when in the darkness. So you either go through (using phasing for example) or use a flare or go with your crawler if there is a node behind the wall.

Why you're doing delve (things only available there):
Fossils/resonators (technically you can get some without going to delve, but mostly they're from delve)
Rare items with modifiers you can't get elsewhere (from chests in special nodes, such as minion/aura node)
Special uniques only in delve (from those bosses you fought, there are some good ones, mainly from aul, the crystal king)
And of course it is also a fine source of other loots and currencies that aren't unique to delve (though overshadowed by affliction this league)
    General strategy:
Go as deep as you can, as fast as you can. Loot (and difficulty) scales with depth. Prioritize azurite early, focus on reward nodes once you're deep. Upgrade light radius and sulphite capacity early. High sulphite capacity is very nice so you don't have to bounce back to maps as frequently.
If you want to get really into it you should look up some delve guides.
There is no limit to how deep you can go, if your character can actually handle the scaled difficulty.
Sometimes they do an "infinite delve" league, where the campaign and maps don't exist. It is a mini (week long) league where you don't need sulphite to delve, you can't even leave the azurite mine (no hideout, so no crafting bench). You just keep delving. Not sure when they're doing it again, but I definitely recommend it.

Ah, yes, I also like the Abysmal City.
By the way, the real brick wall of experience for new players comes after level 90. That's kind of where game mechanics make you gain the least exp. So it becomes painfully slow.
Also, short info on how to make money with Delve - you have loot in the sleeves branching off of the main "road". It's either Azurite veins, chests or fossils. Fossils are these small pillar/pedestal-looking glinty things and when you click them, you get fossils just like from the chests on one of the nodes. You can sell the fossils and resonators you get for money. Different biomes (volcanic, icy, swampy, etc.) have different types of fossils in them, so that's how you can sort of target farm fossils. Also, there are delve-exclusive uniques and modifiers on items. Basically, if you find a Minion-type reward on a node and open it, rare items that drop are going to have unique minion modifiers that are only available on delve (well, not only, but yeah). And you can potentially sell those rare items with unique modifiers, too. But, as I said, I think the most profit is in the branches of the main path, where the walls are. But, for them, you need flares and dynamite, and you gotta invest quite a lot to be able to explore comfortably.
Also also, the quests are just there to teach you the base mechanics. Afterwards, there's no more quests once you've done the base mechanic once. You've learned, now go explore and make your own quests xD

I think folks've already said this in the comments, but the main export you get out of the Delve are the resonators and fossils. Before Harvest was introduced it was definitely the most powerful way to craft semi-deterministically in the game. It is still very strong, but most people just prefer harvest nowadays. But the delve bosses drop some OK uniques that some builds use. There are also specific rare items you can only get from delve. Like body armors with +1 spectre rolls and stuff like that.
How delvers usually play is the specialize their atlas tree to provide as much sulphite as possible, only run maps with short, linear layouts and pick up the sulphite to fill their bar. Then they go as deep as their build can handle and start going *sideways* instead of further down. Then they just go to one direction until they run out of sulphite and then go back to maps until their bar is filled again.
Some people also make early league currency by speccing into delve nodes for sulphite and then using it to buy resonators from Niko and selling those to other players. Very simple to do since you just have to click on the sulphite while you run your maps and go and buy resonators when your bar is filled, then go back to mapping. No need to interact with the actual mines in that case.

3rd case does not work without interacting with mines, bc you need to near empty your sulphite bar to get azurite in maps

delve's unique mechanic is called fossils. a form of deterministic crafting. although since delves league and subsequent base integration, fossils have been able to be aquired in different ways (most easily in Heist)
