I'm gonna be the guy who explains to non-Isaac players (as in people who have _no_ idea what anything is) what happened at 5:55!
Grayfruit's playing as Tainted Eden, a character where each time you take damage from anything but yourself, all of your items are replaced with another item from the same item pool (item pools are based on where you get the item, it's what defines what items can show up from that source), and he also starts off with a few completely-random items every run.
After getting hit and all of his items being rerolled, he used Genesis, a one-time-use Active item (an item that you _activate_ by pressing Space) that removes all of the items you've picked up during that run, and moves you to a bedroom. In this room, you'll get to choose one of three random items for however many items you had before using Genesis, and you can return to where you used Genesis by going through the open trapdoor. The bedroom also spawns in with a few chests and goodie-bags containing collectable items, how many show up is also related to how many collectibles (Keys, Bombs, Health Hearts, and Coins) you had before using Genesis.
His starting active item was Glowing Hourglass, it can be used three times per floor to teleport to the last room you were in, undoing _anything_ that happened before entering the current room you were in. His trinket (an item slot that can only hold one unique item, outside of certain normal items that add storage space) was Cursed Penny, which causes your character to teleport out of whatever room you're in randomly to another room when you pick up any coin (and yes this is a pretty bad trinket 95% of the time). He opened one of the chests, and it dropped a penny which he then picked up; and because of his trinket, he was teleported out of the Genesis Bedroom, thereby losing *all* of the items he was supposed to obtain from it, leaving him with the few that he started with.
Considering Grayfruit's on the very last floor of the game, and about to face off against the final boss (he used Genesis to get a new loadout, since Genesis would allow him to better choose what items he gets), this is basically a death-sentence. But, he was able to get out of this otherwise-unwinnable situation by using that Glowing Hourglass, which teleported him to the previous room; that room being the Bedroom, thereby undoing the effective run-ending maneuver due to his trinket and saving the run.

I was watching the vod of that, and I literally sat jaw dropped for that whole conundrum. I don't know much about Isaac at all but I saw that he literally only had two items before delirium
I understood the clip perfectly but I read this entire comment simply because of how thorough it was
@@justEwastaken Like I said, this is for people who don't know the first thing about Isaac and have no idea what most of the common terms are. Even if I did remove the extraneous definitions for things like what the terms 'active item' and 'trinket ' mean (can't assume that the person reading this knows them), this would still be 2 pretty-sizable paragraphs long.

The whole ''Isaac's funny bits get lost in translation'' thingy used to happen to me before I started playing, and I swear I'd give anything to go back to the time you could be like ''Satan's head is garbage, I'd rather get the cardboard box'' and I'd understand nothing. It's part of the appeal honestly.

@@sehguhnai8223 I own the game, it's just kind of overwhelming and complex (I know that Caves of Qud is just as fucking dense)

I like how gray’s Isaac stuff is basically incomprehensible. As someone who isn’t an expert in the game, I do just watch videos of the game where there’s no way I’d be able to parse what’s going on.

Watching everyone call half life source the glitchy one makes me laugh so much. It is my introduction to half life because 2 years ago I was told it was the improved version that "just adds some physic stuff", and everything after playing basically just proved I should've probably played the original.
