  • Today's video takes a piece of big leaf maple burl and adds northern lights-inspired epoxy. This was our first time experimenting with this type of epoxy pour and we are really really happy with the results.
I included a few mishaps in this video, so watch all the way through to get a glimpse of me trying to catch the piece before it gets sucked into the dust collector!
I feel like the opacity on the epoxy is just right as it goes from totally opaque at the bottom to more translucent at the top.
We recently started selling our pepper grinders in some local galleries and these resin and burl grinders have been extremely popular so we should start putting out some more videos soon with our most recent creations.
    Thanks for watching!

Wow, you broke a lot of safety rules. I'm glad you weren't hurt. I think you may want to consider a waste block dipped in melted glue sticks...or the tail s tock. By the way, the way to check if it's on the head stock firmly is to bang the sides.

Beautiful! May I ask where you bought the mold? I’ve been looking for one with no luck.

What kind of epoxy and what colours mica powders? CA glue is NOT food safe in anyway.

Thanks! It’s the 10.2” Crushgrind mechanism. Crushgrind is the only brand I’ve used and have always been happy with them
