I still can't get over the fact that Ev.Exi sampled Dazzle You by Dazzle in 'Forget'! He literally made something out of nothing in a truly masterful way (speaking of all the chopping, screwing and compressing in FF by the way lol)

i gotta say i can't stand any barbwalters song, the clipping ,the squashed mix it just destroys my ears... same goes for 70% of future funk artists i guess. I'll come off as a dick but i had to take this off my chest. Take notes from 00's french house, no need to overdo stuff

@@guesswhaaat8006 oldschool french house also has crappy mixes, le knight club absolutely squashed their stuff. Justice, SebastiAn, absolutely insane mixing. it's all part of the sound.

@@MereNotilde Of course they were already doing it, but it still sounds organic and not overdone. At least that's how it sounds to me.

@@guesswhaaat8006 A lot of french house does use the same mixing techniques as FF, just with analogue equipment. French House has never been a high fidelity genre, coming from chicago house (a DIY grimy sound, listen to dancemania for an example) and using early samplers with heavy limitations with audio fidelity (where that bitcrushed sound comes from). The insane compression in French House also comes from early sidechain techniques, which I see still being used in modern FF releases. I could go on
I guess maybe you're after that analogue sound

@@MereNotilde You probably know more than me on the argument, i guess i just find most of the tracks in this mix uninspired and unnecessarily "loaded". I believe this production style fits more vaporwave rather than something that should have groove. But that's only my opinion. Sorry if i might have come across as mean, maybe all of this was unnecessary by me, i could have kept it for myself. I love funk and disco music. I love french house. I like some FF artists as well. I just like to see efforts when it comes to production, that's it.
      Love your track 'Mono' btw!
