Im honestly laughing at how AMD is trying to compete with Nvidia, i mean its a no brainer the GTX 970 still outperforms the R9 290x and the GTX 970 is still 60 dollars cheaper, AMD has lost me, im making the switch to Nvidia very soon. Also AMD's driver support lately has been very poor, I'm sure a lot of you guys will agree.

I bought a device that used that screen 5 years ago it was an mp3 hockey puck (it was MTL canadiens themed) it was only 20$ for 1gb and the screen was definitely OLED.

I would go with the 980, the hybrid one looks awesome, it's just a little expensive. Btw my PC runs a R9 255, but are there any pictures of it on internet? I'd like to actually see it. It's not a PC that is custom build, so if I slide away the side panel the waranty is over. :)
We spend all are time trying to get bigger more visible screens. It leads to a better gaming experience and overall more fun. You can just lay back and play you don't have to stick your face in the screen just to read the lettering. Why would we want to game on such a small screen when we have been trying to perfect big and better screens.
I want one so I can use it to monitor my PC. I would create a little bracket for it, hang it on the bottom of my monitor. I use a G15 because I like monitoring my temps and such without having to take any screen space up. This looks like it would be perfect.

i have never really been interested in mobile gaming. I just love playing on a big high resolution monitor so much :). Its great AMD cut the 290 to $300. The GTX 970 is a little faster than the 290 and 780, if and only if you take advantage of its overclocking. In the end, the gameplay experience is equal. I would recommend the 970 over the 290 since its updated and overclocks so well. But if you want to save $30-$50 + get free games, the 290 is the deal you want :).

The 780 version of that 770 card is only about £50 more that evga/gigabyte/msi etc versions of the 780 in the uk

The custom 770 was launched a year ago :) Early september 2013. Thats why it seems so expensive/pointless.
