  • Hello there, how are ya? Welcome back to howididit. The Puppies were pushing out under the chain-link fence at the in town, so about $100 and a couple of intermittent work days due to rain delays, I can now put them out in the yard to play, and they are there when I go back to let them in; which is a relief as the in-town home is in a very high traffic environment, and unfortunately the drivers do not respect the residential speed limit.
    Thanks again for watching, liking, and subscribing to my channel, have a wonderful, and Blessed week.

    Very simple and best of all, it works. You were wise using strong galvanized steel fence wire and not aluminum. It's important for charger longer life to do 3 galvanized ground rods at least 10 feet apart. If you start killing chargers after 6 months or so, you might want to try this. Rod is a lot cheaper than chargers.

    But they can get through the gate now since you don't have a wire across that.

    Great video! Can you please clarify at 03:30 the connection to the output terminal. This is the part that confuses me. That wire looks different than the perimeter wire and what is it attached to? 🤔

    Can I use this method on a 10x10 chain link fence I have a huge dog that grabs my kennel and he lifts it up and bends it up he already tore apart one kennel so now I have him in a retriever welded wire fence from tractor supply.

    Do you have any issues with the electric current being weak with only one grounding rod? I'm going to install a single wire fence for my pigs nice and low to the ground. They've never been in contact with electric fencing but are about to receive the single strand electric fencing to deter their escape. They are rooters and like to run their snoot underneath the fence panels and create weak spots. So far, they've escaped 3 times. and I'd like it to stop permanently. Thus the single wire fencing. Thanks for the video. I enjoyed a full-watch. New Subscriber. 👍🏽🤠 2/19/23

      Hello there, no issues at all with weakness. Right now the issue is leaves building up at the bottom of the fence, so I do a quick walk around a couple times a week.

      @@howididit Thanks for the tips. I introduced the pigs to their first shocking event. Man, ot sounded a though they were being skewered alive. Now, on day two, the haven't gotten near the wire and know that it's safe to stay inside the confines of the unwired space. Hopefully they won't attempt to lunge the fence out of sheer panic but for now, they've adjusted to the wire in 1 single day. I'm pretty amazed about their quick learnng skills. Have a fine week. I'll check for weeds or any branches or obstacles that may hit the wire. 👍🏽🤠 2/22/23

    Please explain the power side. What wires did you use?

    • @howididit
      @howididit  Год назад +2

      Hello there, the wire that ran the entire perimeter of the yard starts at the hot side of the controller, it runs from the controller down to the first insulator, it wraps around the insulator and continues on to each and every insulator all the way around the yard. When I arrived back at the gate opposit the controller/starting point, I made a loop in the wire and attached the wire to the insulator, this was so I could attach/hook the electric fence handle to it, the other side of the handle continues the wire/circuit, I attached the wire, feed through the hose on the ground and attached it to the first insulator where the wire started, this is what completes the circuit. If you unhook the handle it breaks the circuit, and the fence is not charged, rehook the handle and the fence is once again charged.
