This is by far, the best video I have seen on how to make a pond filter. Clear, concise instructions without a lot of unnecessary commentary. Just easy to follow visuals. Perfect! I am about to make my own today, and will be using your tutorial. Thank you so much!
Just made this in 2 hrs and now in place. Great video and nice to see someone taking their time through each stage. Look forward to seeing the results. Thank you.
This is a great idea although filter systems like this work from the bottom up and you're barely utilizing half of your filter and bio media where you have your drain
I'm not knocking it I really like your idea I just think it needs to be tweaked a little bit and we'll be awesome just my opinion again I liked your video
Would this concept work to clean my duck pool? I have a kiddie pool that my six ducks use and I researching filters to help keep the water cleaner for longer. Or do you have suggestions for the pump size or the media to use?
This should work. From what i understand ducks make alot of waste so you make need to clean the media more often. With that being said you may want media that comes out in sheets for easy rinsing as opposed to something like pot scrubbers.
For the 1" pvc i used a 5/16" bit. You could use a larger or smaller bit and drill more or less holes. You could drill no holes at all and just rely on the top opening as the overflow. As for drill speed, i used a variable speed hand drill so i don't have an exact number but i try to go on the slow side as to not melt the plastic.
Not much. My pond has only been up and running for 3.5 months. I have an overflow pipe system (check out my video) which allows water to flow out without overflowing the pond. Every couple of week i'll run the hose in the pond 4 2 minutes or so (maybe 10 gal). If we get a lot of rain i may even skip the water change.
Just an FYI, picking up every single little part and showing to the camera really isn't necessary. It wastes time and either makes me skip ahead of the video is something I want to see... otherwise I'll just stop watching it.
That is your opinion. I’m sure there are lots of people that are beginners or not savvy in these type of things and that appreciate being showed all the steps you don’t like.
@@DulceN you're right, that is my opinion and it's just a valid as your opinion. Notice I didn't say one thing against the content or subject of the video? It was simply because there was nothing else that I would criticize because it was top notch value. It was just that one minor change I suggested.
That's your opinion, I disagree. Where are your videos helping people learn things? This person offered his knowledge for free in a very soothing, informative video without a bunch of talking like everyone else, but you have to complain?

That is awesome. Hopefully it will give you good results. So far mine has been great.
Glad to see the making of of this filter - inspired to
Make one.
Excellent . Silent is Golden . It is very simple and easy to follow .
Thank you very much for this. Needed to create a filter and didn't know where to start.
You are welcome. Hopefully it is useful information.
TIP: To make a water tight seal I used a rubber grommet as well and that guarantees a tight seal.
Brilliant diy filter 👌👍
Brilliant DIY pond filter buddy I've made a few videos myself doing DIY bakki shower and stuff nice one mate all the best Martyn 👍
I LIKE IT.
It works pretty good so far. Running for 3 1/2 months.

Very mechanically creative. You could sell them via internet
Thanks! I could sell them but i need to think how to make them so they would work with different type of stock tanks.
Which round drill bit size do in need for 1” PCV Pipe? And the size of the speed drill tip for the holes on sides for the tube spray tube fit?

Cool filter but I think I have to pee now with the water sound in the background 😂
Hahaha
How strong is your pump?
525 gph fountain pump.
what size (circumference) are each PVC pipe used?
Did you want the diameter or circumference?

How often you change the water after installing the filter?

@@T_Rou_Fish_Videos OK, thanks.
Can I attach a hoes where the water is spilling out of and attach it to a waterfall spillway??
Yes, you can attach it to a waterfall, just use whatever fittings you need to go to the waterfall.
why dont you talk ?????
This was one of my first videos i made. I am definately getting better and talk in some of my later videos.
No need for it.
