I'm in the market and really like the look and modular abilities of this table, but it's not gonna happen with those shipping costs to the US. Now I know how every other country feels during KS campaigns 😅
My issue is that these tables are so expensive. I moved countries recently and bought a huge and nice looking solid oak table same size as the biggest archie for 75 euros and most came in around 100-125 euros on the second hand market. 75 euros vs 1800 euros for the basic table without the boxes is crazy. And I live in the netherlands where shit is expensive compared to when I lived in Eastern europe. I don't know if americans don't buy/sell second hand solid wood tables, but this is like 20 times the price of a comparatively sized normal second hand solid wood table in most EU countries I lived in . Without the boxes...
I completely agree with you. If you don't absolutely require to leave your game in the table, then most of these tables are really expensive (well they are even if you have to leave it in :P). So are their add-ons and side-trays. I feel that you can DIY most of them with a fraction of the cost. Probably it has to do with the absolute number of people that they actually target and the fact that they are probably (?) hand-crafted.
So this is basically a copy cat of Rathskellers Sunnygeeks. I got the Sunnygeeks and it was cheaper and the handmade quality looks to be superior on Rathskellers table. It has padded color fabric toppers to make it more comfortable to rest on. They also offer 2 styles of metal legs. They use the magnetic boxes and have toppers with drink holder built in so they don't hang off the sides. Not a fan of the side hanging accessories as they tend to get in the way. You should look at the Sunnygeeks if you're interested in this table as you may want to explore the "Original" idea of where this table came from.
I have pressed the button at last. Been wanting a gaming table for a long table. Looks like my Draco pledge is going to get silly if I want a full compliment of boxes though…. Hmmm
Too funny about thinking what was the game they where showing. I remember seeing the preview for their video a few days back on their page and wondering what game it would be myself. I didn't catch the second game but did notice Marvel Splendor when I did a double take.
Realistically, I don't think anyone is removing the boxes in this as much as they show. Where are you putting them? Do you have a nearby cabinet for all the addons? Are you going to spend this much on a table to have the presentation of something like this and then just store them on the floor?
Agree. Some modularity is okay. For this, it seems like each individual group would want a custom table, with customer features. And instead of making custom tables to order, you have bits and pieces which you assemble at the user end. It’s not bad, but it’s marketed as a feature. When in reality, it will likely rarely be used.
The table has some neat ideas. I wonder why no one designs a Boardgame table with storage base underneat and with wheels. I have that kind of table in living room with 8 storage blocks for other stuff / glasses when gaming. The only downside is that the table is only 70x70cm (70x140 when I move extra top). I mainly want a similar base about 90x90cm (I could extend similarly as now), but I haven’t seen any tables like I have even manufactured anymore.
Did you get a new game table? The link for your table is different than the Radcliffe table you had. I would be interested in hearing why you got a new table if you did.
Still waiting for my Wyrmwood table (but many others have already received theirs). Don’t mind me. I’m just lurking. First impressions: They are not focusing on exotic woods and there many interesting ideas, but many too many?
In addition to the 100 saved for the early bird, unlike us who are so use to seeing the savings from retail for board games...this is actual saving from the retail cost. Hopefully most people interested in the specific table get it through KS as you will save a good amount on both the table/accessories and shipping when I tested out my own table for example there was a large gap of what I paid versus current cost of the table through their site...that's long winded to say KS is best price your going to get. Speaking of price for North America it appears estimated shipping has gone up twice the amount from previous two campaigns. I paid 430 versus the now 900 for delivery to Canada and unfortunately this is through third party as they note (DHL for Canadians who back Megan Table) so its double rough paying significant more due to the logistics of delivering such heavy furniture and North America does not get the option to have this table brought into their homes aka paying not just more but receiving potential a lower tiered service of delivery but high cost, challenging one likely one of the biggest CONS i suspect (more so cost) that may be final choice for those deciding of backing or not from North America, Australia. Nevertheless interesting looking table and cool concept which add something new it feels with its unique design choice.
I'd love to finally get a gaming table but I'd also like it to fit my living room visually... Unfortunately most are that wooden country-style which isn't bad but just doesn't fit for me 😞
In the UK we have a couple of National furniture stores selling sustainable Oak furniture at competitive prices and I have a 3 x 3 that expands to 6 x 6, add a Level-Up to provide a raised/larger surface (Level up can be easily configured to 2,3,4 x 2,3,4,5,6 as 4 x4 only needs a 3 x 3 surface etc) so that player boards can be used placed partly under the surface, boxes stored under the middle and you get a great gaming table plus chairs for 25-35% of these. If I play games that last more than 4 hours then we/I play smaller footprint games on the card table(the type with fold out legs) or which I suspect most of the population does is eat off trays, including me , most of the time. This means I have a bigger budget for games. I think the market for these is the more affluent that own/rent bigger homes and game content creators (write off against tax). I know 100s of gamers and a[art from content creators who likely got a great deal none own these types of gaming tables but many own expandable dining tables. Note: Average living room size in UK has returned to 1930s std of 17sq m , 183 sq ft with no utility/dining room basically a lounge diner. We pay 50%+ of income on housing, I guess the US is a lot different in house sizes and costs.
@@j3errym I'm from Germany 🙂we own a house and a large table, it's not about the space. It's a first world problem, but I'd love to have a large campaign game set up permanently inside to play with my wife on a daily basis and invite people over to play on top from time to time. The Level Up/AdapTabletop solutions are great to improve space but they don't add that extra concealable game space in the way I'd like.
@@Armand7734 Same for me I could leave my 6 x 3 open and still move round, these days I feel privileged to own a house but would love to have the sort of house that my parents had with a lounge and a dining room. I earned double average but constantly rising housing costs(Land banking restricted building etc) here meant always on back foot, divorce were she got the house and I got the kids didn't help.
A 3D printer would be your best friend here. For the price of a set of boxes you can buy one, print your own boxes and accessories and still have money left.
For those interested I did do a review that just went up the other day of their previous Table I backed "Megan" found here: ruclips.net/video/5IWod7EMV9Q/видео.html There is of course some bias in it but may help give comfort what type of quality Geeknson tables provide. I also did a separate video reviewing the accessories and see there is similar designs for the external rail system for the Archie though I suspect they are the same ones looking at them as what Geeknson uses for their Henry line of tables.
Glad I got my Geek Chic table back in the day. Too bad the owner screwed up and they closed down. Still no better US option to date. Geek n son looks good but shipping MURDERS it.
I don't think it makes a lot of sense to buy a big table from overseas when you can purchase a table from multiple North American companies. Great for Europeans though.
the day 1 states that you need to back for somethign that has an archie in it, 1 dollar back and get back to it later might not work
Thanks!
I need to call my ISP and get the package you have. Never knew I could experience the feel of a Kickstarter through the webpage! 9:14 😝

This table gave me a geekgasm.
Thx for sharing!
Absolutely :)

Sorry. I think I accidentally commented on this earlier. This looks so great.

As Alex said - it's our Bedeville Carnival! We definitely didn't think it's gonna make Alex specifically look for us but we appreciate the mention :)
This reminds me a lot of the Sunnygeek table by Rathskellers.

I would still use a table cloth for extra protection.

It sure is nice & I do like the different accessories, but I'll stick with my Game Toppers package.
Better to just go with Wyrmwood modular table if you are in the US.
There are those in the US that want to have a European table and will gladly, pay the $925 to ship it here. Being Euro is superior, after all.

I'm curious. You have a board game table. Would you do a review, or just share about the table you have and how you use it most often?
He made such video in the past, search and you will find it.

Damn I just bought a nice dining table.

I'm tempted, I don't see the point of the extra boxes so that's a saving... still pricey and the mat is not included in the price either hmmm
Yeah, this is common with gametables of any brand, once you start adding, the price goes up a lot.
That shipping rate... Its almost as much as the completed product. We need stateside table makers on KS.
Yep, it's a table though...not a surprise sadly.
$4,000 for a fully decked-out 4-6 player table after shipping . . . peace out!
What is the board game in the thumbnail?
Brass Birmingham (night side)
Andrew has you :)

I still remember when they were the gold standard, they were the only standard for that matter.
Meh. I wish someone would start mass producing quality tables so that you didn't have to wait over a year for one.
700 POUNDS shipping to the U.S. is.. I'll have to pass. As nice a price and as amazing as it is.
I don't think it makes a lot of sense to buy a big table from overseas when you can purchase a table from multiple North American companies.
Great for Europeans though.
mmm... too complicated... looks cool but I will use half of the features...
