What I liked about Doug's portrayal is that he was a pragmatic and conscientious professional, shown in his scenes with Dawson, and that was as much a part of his character as being Pacey's older brother or as being a closeted man in a small town.
5:45 idk why but I find that so wholesome and cute from Pacey. While he's normally heckling and rude to Doug, I think here he really did just want a nice moment together, because he missed having brotherly bonding-time. "Butch Supercop" was also adorable and so funny.
I love Pacey and Doug's interactions, I especially find it cute that Pacey calls him Dougie. I agree with Chococream in that I don't know if there was always the intention for Doug to be gay and in the closet, or if it started as a joke and eventually they decided to make it a reality, but I thought Doug's comment about being in your own personal prison may have been an indication that Doug was always intended to be a gay character.
I really didn't like Doug in season 1 but as the character grew, that changed. He really cared about Pacey and genuinely wanted the best for him. He became a really sweet guy and I was happily surprised by his relationship with Jack in the final episode. I wish they'd had more scenes together and I wasn't a fan of their breakup at all but the I love you was so sweet.
How old is Doug meant to be? Usually sibling age-gaps are less than several years, but that would make Doug only in his early 20s, and from how he talks and acts he seems years older than that.
First of all, I would like to thank you very much for doing such an amazing work. That being said, which song is playing on Doug's car when Pacey comes to talk to him?
I don't understand how Doug is so much of a bitter queen. I don't appreciate Doug involving a woman, since he is gay. But, it's not Pacey's business to tell everyone he is gay every chance he gets, playing or not.
I really wish jack and Doug had interacted before the finale they were so cute.
