- Hurricane Beryl, now a Category 4 storm, has reached the coast of Jamaica as residents prepare for the powerful system that has already battered parts of Grenada and other Caribbean islands. @@SparkleInYourEyes2024 Facts. I was in New Orleans the prior weekend and the radio stations were advertising hurricane parties with half off drinks and a promise to stay open until the storm was over. I know for a fact that most who went to those parties ended up stuck in the Superdome.

He's on the wrong coast! Montego Bay is on the north coast and Beryl is passing to the south of Jamaica.

You know, these big early storms are actually doing what all TS do. They pull heat out of the surface waters and lift it way up into the 30 thousand elevation of the atmosphere and that cools the heat very well. The TS action is like a giant Air Conditioner.
I wonder if we have enough big early storms, if the effect will be to cool the surface ocean waters and possible decrease the severity of later in the season storms?

Why are there so many reports on this, but no ways to help these people? Its been so difficult to find a decent trustworthy organization to donate to where you know your money will go to these people, these children who are terrified right now.

Just know the outer part of the eye will delete you. Dont let the small wind breeze fool you. It comes in silent and deadly. One second you're at 60 mph winds, the next at 140. Make sure to look both ways for tree branchers before crossing.

The grocery stores and food storage are better abled to deal with the storm and keep food secure with generators and solid structure.
