Hi Lee Love these albums they can become a little repetitive with all the usual suspects but you do get surprise's the Belgium train stamps that is what they are train stamps for the Belgium railway great vlog
Really excellent first video, Lee. Looking forward to many more to come, I hope. It is always very exciting to browse through an old stamp album. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
What a pitty Turkey was empty. The stamp that reminded you with the design another one from Trinidad actually reminded me Syrian and not a shock as they were also occupied by French during WW. I am collecting flowers, animals, cars, sports, music, dance, famous people, cartoons, children books as topicals also fiscals, red crescent which are mostly considered as BOB. I also have stamps of Turkey, Canada, US, Japan, Swtizerland, Germany, France, Italy and Commonwealth. I mostly love the engraved old style ones as well as the ones with vibrant different colors as the one colony stamps you shared on this video.. Wish I could land my hand to similar collections from antique stores... Good luck on your journey.
A good start. New subscriber here from Goa, India. It would be nice to do a researched post on the Syrian stamp. For new themes you could be drawn into dogs and cats as I have in recent years. Best regards.
Interesting. I really like the older stuff even though most of my collection is modern. Perhaps the French word you were looking at was 'journee' meaning 'day'. If so, you'll possibly come across quite a few with 'journee du timbre' (literally day of the stamp, but mostly translated as 'stamp day'). In German-speaking countries you will find stamps that say 'Tag der Briefmarken' which means the same. Hope that helps.
Hi there could you help on some stamps please so confuse of what to do found some web sites id paid for them and not wanting what i need. Like stamp world etc
was watchung and saw something that is unfortunate as someone had used tape instead of hinges causing a stain to show on the front of the stamp making them worthless .
unfortunately have gotten one that had the old clear mounts that used the tape like glue and ruined the album pages and a few plate blocks. needless to say removed them all and moved them into showgards.

Great album for cheap, but i saw many that were stained by the hinges. Which is unfortunate.
No classic US! But a nice video and collection!
For a good theme, how about maps on stamps?

The two 20th century Egyptian kings were King Fuad, then King Farouk before the 1953 revolution.
I have a large 2 album collection of World Wide Stamps 1924 to 1950. Includes Hitler stamps
The first set of 5 stamps that you looked at are from Ethiopia not Afghanistan.
