- DC Films is proud to present Cuba Skate. This short documentary highlights the efforts of the nonprofit organization and their dedication to cultivating a sustainable future for skateboarding in Cuba. DC pro Madars Apse joined a crew of skaters and cinematographers as they got a hands-on, inside look at the burgeoning skate scene in Cuba. Beyond just bringing skateboarding to the island, the film showcases how Cuba Skate brings the youth together and helps them to develop useful life skills.

And I say that bluntly but humbly, because I’ve skateboarded (as just an average joe) in India, Malaysia and S Africa in the early 2000’s and it put things into perspective and so this Cuba gig means something to me. Not marketable, just real for the kids. ‘Mercia skaters are so culturally shaped for popularity and $$$

I'm always skating a messed/2nd hand setup but this puts things in perspective. I would love to go to Cuba one day and bulid/skate some diy.

I always think of boxing when i think of cuba...they give their life to it its good to see skating there i never thought of it❤
skating since 1982 ! I remember trying to make my own board (and setting up wheels/trucks from a roller skate. Still skating despite my arthritis knee isn't helping that much thought! This documentary made me smile and crying at the same time (the struggle to skate, kid breaking board and not skating for Months, the little girl's jumping the stairs and the smiling after it was so cool). Ohhhh skateboarding. I've met the best people in my life because you! Thank's

This really triggered something in me... in my community we are literally around 10 skaters alone, and I gotta say we are a few the ones we get to watch these videos and see how skateboarding develops around the world, makes us proud of what we do, and makes us appreciate skating even more, life would be boring without a skateboard, stay motivated folks, love and good vibes from a small town in Mexico!

yeah, well in one hand you have the concept of "destroy" as a way to say you dominate the spots landing great tricks, but on the other you have real cunts who literally destroy the public and private spaces without remorse, even feeling good about it
