  • 2012 Nissan NV 1500 Cargo Van
    This ugly cube has the entry 4.0L DOHC V6 making 261 HP. Power goes to the rear wheals through a 5 speed auto.
    2012 is the first yr for these vans & they are based off the Nissan Titan Pickup chassis which explains the unnecessarily long nose & high ride height. Basically just Nissan trying to grab a slice of the commercial van market & it is a solid van but IMO it was introduced too late, It's too ugly, & the front end is too long which makes maneuverability toughest out of all the cargo vans. A diesel option also would've helped give it an edge but even that isn't offered

    this video almost makes me NOT want to buy a Nissan nv, everything that you said was more of a complaint than a compliment.

    Your negative attitude far outweighs the few positive comments on this new standard in work vehicles. If you are a salesman working on commission, good luck meeting your quota this quarter.

      No I'm not a salesman. But I can not see through your view of this being a new standard when it comes to works vehicles. These large full size NV vans do not represent the new standards nor pave way on where the market is headed. If anything, they represent the past and came to market too late. American brands are shifting away from this body on frame layout of work vans with thirsty V8's & are transitioning to the Sprinter / Transit style vans.
      I will commend Nissan with the NV200 van which competes directly with the Transit Connnect van. It's only been available for a few months and all ready there are more of them on the road than the full size NV1500+ vans

    I find this style of van better than the more conventional van design with a flatter nose...for one the engine is up front instead of sitting and intruding into the passenger compartment...i hate that.

      You won't like it once you have to maneuver this van in tight spaces. It's like driving a straight truck.

    Hey DUUUDE. This is beautiful to men who work with their hands. We need vehicles to move large pieces . We make our money with money with this . Crappy notion you give in your many negative opinions... How often do yuppies have trouble fitting regular items in a suv

    Man it's gotta be hard to revrse that Nissan. I wonder how the people at the auction parked a van with basically no windows at all. Nice video, I never know what I'm gonna got in to since the auction has new car every time. Keep it up man

    You missed quite alot...no mention of fuel economy...the Transit-like work modules that can be installed, the fuel tube integrated into the left fender well, instead of separate, the front passenger seat that folds flat to accommodate additional cargo or even a printer for mobile workers, the cargo hold-down points inside and the roof rack points outside, the extra legroom created by the longer hood...and do looks count? Is the E-series prettier so I should buy that instead? Dude.

    @talldude123 For Nissan's first attempt of a cargo van for North America, it's not that bad, just ugly. A V8 and a tall-roof model is available.

  • @datboiwes333

    haha you're right the only place I've seen these is at dealerships I haven't seen any driving on the road. There is this place by my job that sells heavy duty chassis cab trucks and vans to companies and they have a bunch of these on their lot. I don't think they sell well.

  • @2Kriss2Kross
    @2Kriss2Kross 13 лет назад

    The Transit looks way better even though these things aren't meant to look pretty. The tall roof models are a pain to drive behind, like driving behind a wall.

    The Ford E series are the most dated crappy cargo vehicle available, with a 5.4L and a 3.73 diff 12 MPG, only their commercial fleet program keeps that dated design out, "the block" looking straight walls of the NIssan mean that you can use almost all the space for cargo and BTW the rear 180 doors are from the Mercedes originally and that's where Ford "stole" it, the nose is ugly in the Nissan but at least you don't have to go thru hell when changing a plug or coils like you have to do on the POS Ford, I'll buy this Nissan without hesitation.

    • @JungleListSoldier
      @JungleListSoldier 8 лет назад

      Here's the truth, this Nissan van has some serious design flaws. First of all, the long nose gives it a terrible turning radius. Then the dashboard is very high and the windshield is short giving it very poor visibility. You can't recline the seat to take a nap because it has a big hump making taking a nap impossible. Finally, the fuel economy is very poor for a V6. I average 16.3 mpg and that's driving with a feather foot rarely going above 2200 RPM's. The Ford E-series was miles ahead of this van despite dating back to the 70's.

      The long nose gives it more working room under the engine bay.
