Turning an Australian Hardwood Yarn Bowl

  • I've been working on this yarn bowl for the last few weeks in between jobs, kids parties, other projects amongst other things. I haven't managed to spend much time in the shed at all recently.
    This one is made from all Australian Timbers, Jarrah from W.A. and a local Victorian Ash. I liked the Jarrah but the Vic Ash is a bit too straight grained so can be prone to throwing off some larger chips while turning. I might try to substitute that one at some point maybe for some Blackbutt from NSW or something similar to produce the same colour scheme.
