In my view, Martyn Green is the best Modern Major General on RUclips! I am fortunate enough to have him on vinyl (courtesy of my parents record collection).
The two excerpts I've seen from "Omnibus "Sorcerer"* and "Pirates"^ are excellent. Nothing O.T. T. (e.g. scenery climbing "Mikado" & almost dropping a volume onto the Associate T. V. "Trial" abridged) but with good mime* and traditional business^ some of which I've done. Except that Elizabeth Meneses didn't understand about giving me the rhyme for"stratagee"!
So enjoyable! I just had to smile at the inability of the orchestra to keep up with his tempo. (Probably the fault of the conductor.) Thanks for uploading these gems of G&S.
Martyn Green doesn't keep the rhythm and so he and the orchestra keep slipping out of synch. His articulation is very good, but both Peter Pratt and John Reed did it better.
Want to watch more of Martyn Green on Omnibus? Here he performs Gilbert and Sullivan's "The Sorcerer"! ruclips.net/video/6sLdkLXY9Is/видео.html

Ye gods, quintessential British comic opera with a grating American-accented chorus.......
