You guys amaze me. I'm in 9th grade, and I'm either playing snare or tenors next year (I was in pit this year and have just been practicing and filling in for snare for a few months now). I want to make up new cadences with the rest of the line, and this is really...well, inspiring, to say the least. =]
i live in atlantic city and i play snare and im bout 2 finish my 5th year with my drum core and i look at all types of drumming and never really seen anything like this b4 u and ur friend nick r casey brohard and tim jaskson material
I didn't mean to remove your comment... sorry, I meant to hit reply. Yes, indeed I wrote this using VDL. It's on the tapspace VDL2 user submitted demos page. Shredder by Paul Morgan.
hey im s freshmen in highschool and i am on snare in my druming u reallly inspire me awsome job do have any tips so i can be just as good as u one day?? i kno 1 big tip is practice!!
I love this cadence so much. I found it on a sample upload for a writing program and i haven't been able to find anything on it until this video. do you have the music? or know of any other vids?
I remember coming across this many years ago, it was a sample user submitted composition for like VDL once I think. Now I know who write it! It would be great to have a recording with the full battery! ...................make it happen!!! just kidding. Any chance I can get sheet music from you? I hadn't even been able to prove this cadence wasn't a figment of my imagination until I came across this video.
Actually I have been a drummer for 22 years, Completely self taught and can't read a beat of music. I have played in various successful bands and have enjoyed a my time as a drummer. I also play various stringed instruments, wind instruments, and the piano. Also completely self taught. Music is in the mind...and not on the paper. If you can't conceive this....then you have no business playing music.
Written....who needs it on paper? Just play it by ear, that's what I do. I have been a drummer for 21 years and can't read a single beat of drum music and yet I have managed to have a successful career as a drummer.
@InfernoZX5 I agree on that one...=/ But that doesn´t keep him from playing awesomely, right? I mean, not all professionals do everything precisely as the method asks.
I gotta say, extreme hands, both of you guys, and i know this video is REALLY old but i just gotta say, even for tilted snare, your left hand looks a bit high.
i need a tutor...from you guys...mind to come to malaysia? i'm a beginner for this tenor drum...my first and second year i've been playing marching xylophone..then for the world competition, they ask me to play tenor in 1 month time!!!can you belive it? well, after that competition...my seniours tell me i didn't do good enough..wat the heck...wat do you expect...i a xylo guy 4 2 years...you can't expect me to play tenor in 1 month...can you? wat do you guys think?
Nope...I never had a need to read music. It is all in my head. I have no need for written music, I play perfectly well without it and always have. I just hear a song and I duplicate it from what is stored in my memory. I have picked up instruments for the very first time that I had never layed my hands on before and within 2 minutes I could play an entire song from start to finnish with no mistakes. Like I said the only purpose written music serves is to keep a historical record of it.
awesome writing, im in 10th frade and i play tenors but man, that guy on tenors there makes me look like a jackass. I would love to have the sheet music for this.
Just because there is theory in music, does not mean that there needs to be. Theory was only created to help those who do not have a natural musical abillity to understand how to play. I am not pissing on anyones parade here...the point I am making is that for me and a lot of other musicians.......Musical Writing and Theory is a waste of time as our minds produce and conceive music perfectly without it. To me the only purpose musical writing has is to keep a record for historical purposes
Damn, it's been so long since I last saw this video
man i seriously wish we can play like that in our school band.... nd i play quads... it would be awesome playing that!
