Ghee Mysore Pak - a popular #SweetRecipe that melts in your mouth instantly and is made for #Diwali. This #GheeMysorePak is made with ghee, besan flour, sugar and water. You can now make this #EasyMysorePak with Cookd’s simple recipe. Do try this recipe and share your feedback with us.
Ghee Mysore Pak Recipe:
Besan / Gram Flour - 1 Cup
Sugar - 1 ½ Cups
Water - 1 ¼ Cups
Ghee (melted) - ½ Cup + 1 ½ Cups
Cooking Instructions:
1. Melt 2 cups of ghee in a pan. It does not have to be heated much, just until it melts.
2. Sieve the gram flour to remove any lumps. In a bowl, combine the besan and ½ cup of ghee into a smooth and lump-free mixture.
3. Grease a tray with ghee and line with parchment paper and set aside.
4. Add the sugar and water to a pan and heat it to form the sugar syrup. Continue cooking until it reaches a 1-string consistency.
5. On a low flame, add the gram flour mixture into the sugar syrup. Mix well.
6. Once it is combined, add the remaining ghee ¼ cup at a time. Add more ghee only after the previously poured ghee has been completely incorporated with the mixture.
7. Continue this step and keep stirring continuously. Keep cooking until the mixture starts to leave the side of the pan and the mixture gets cooked. You can check if it is cooked by taking a small piece of the mixture between your fingers and rolling it. If it forms into a ball without sticking, then it is done.
8. At this stage, bring the flame to high and mix vigorously for around 30 seconds.
9. Turn off the flame and immediately pour the mixture into the greased pan.
10. Allow it to cool for 3 hours.
11. De-mould it and cut it into pieces.
Cooking Tips:
1. Besan that is ground in a grain mill works better for this recipe than store-bought besan.
2. Although this dish can be made using lesser ghee, it will not have the same soft texture and taste.

Always roast the gram flour before mixing with ghee to remove the raw taste.
We live in US and would love to have South Indian sweets. But today Made mysorepak using your recipe and turned out exactly same as the Krishna sweets one. Thank you for the recipe.

it should be left to cool in refrigerator or in open?
It can be cooled down at room temperature itself.
I have tried similar steps but the flour needs to be roasted otherwise it just tastes like besan cooked in ghee..... Is there any other tip you follow or would like to share @cookdtv

I did the same recipe...but mine I got raw smell of besan... otherwise it was nice
I over cooked thinking that it just need a little more tight texture …. Now its like a hard mysorepak
Looks very nice... but this mysorepak should have raw smell of besan flour bcz you didn't roast that besan flour before mixing.....
Cooked in same as u did... When it cooled down it became hard. Not soft as u shown
It is possible that the sugar or mixture after adding the gram flour has been over cooked. It also needs to be transfered into a mold immediately, any delay will make the mixture harden. The quantity of ghee also has to be precise.

Hello .. i just tried the recipe... but mine mysore pak became dry very soon & it was little tuff.. the pieces were turned very tuff can anybody help me what mistake i made ?...
