You're going to WIN. You're learning the land. Next, putting the land into Zones is ( key). The zones will dictate time spent on them. The overwhelming feeling will turn into order. Example: Monday, front porch area. Tuesday front yard cut, barn and wood pile organized. In time, some areas will need less attention, etc. Just give areas their own day, so if you miss a day, you can keep going with the schedule and pickup next week where you skipped. You got this!
Your plan sounds real good. I don’t have a big yard to maintain, but I think I will adopt this idea between front flower garden and backyard veggies garden. 😘
We try to stick to that but have not been very intentional about it. It’s definitely the way to go but we just haven’t disciplined ourselves enough to stick to it! 🤦🏾♂️ 🤦🏽♀️
Simone- "this place just feels like a hug from God"....
My husband and I - "I want a "hug,(house with land and a lake) " lol lol
God would have not given to you something if he felt you aren't ready to handle it.
Amen.
🎯👏🏾👏🏾 Yes! If it was his divine plan for you to buy a home or obtain any property , there should never be a question if it was or wasn’t a good decision. Anything worthwhile that he gives to you is worth doing the hard work to maintain and thank him for your blessings DAILY! If we stand of faith & trust in God & his bountiful grace ALL things are possible, we just have to BELIEVE !The enemy likes to get in your head periodically to doubt the Lord! Job had strong faith in the Lord regardless of his circumstances, and God blessed him even more after he endured hardship and stood his ground on being faithful! Without faith it’s impossible to please God! Keep up the good work with building your beautiful home , family & property and in the future you will enjoy the fruits of your labor! God bless you and anyone who gets discouraged from time to time. We all need to encourage each other and pray for one another daily. 😊🙏🏾❤️
Selah
One great Christian farmers to watch: Living Traditions Homestead. This couple explain planting, soil, animal care and equipment. They also let you know about the errors they have made so you can do better yourself. Another RUclips channel is Garden Answer and Lumnah Acres and Sow the Land( he is learning too but makes some wise choices as he grows ). There is also Joe Salatin who has been educating new farmers and old. I hope this helps you gain more knowledge and wisdom for your God given homestead! I’m praying for your success!
Feeling overwhelmed with gardening is normal. Think about the satisfaction of driving onto your property realizing your blessing.
Buy one large perennial fern and split it into four plants. Buy several large hostas. Plant both in shady areas. If planted under trees, each will help with the weeds.
Weeding and mowing are my nemesis'.
Just remember to set aside each day to enjoy the work you have accomplished.
You both know you got this and God got you!
🙌🏿
The blessing of the Lord maketh rich and He added no sorrow to it!! If He called you to it He equipped you for it! ❤
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Amen and Amen!
I totally feel what you guys are saying. My husband and i have 24.5 acres in Arkansas that's a combination of woods and pasture. The work never ends, but we also believe that God called ua to grow and raise our own food. The food system ia contaminated and we need to get back to what God created. I heard another homestead RUclipsr say that he is starting to believe that homesteading is like being a glorified landscaper. 🤣
With maintaining 5 acres, a 60” zero turn mower would make the job easier and faster. Having the right tools is essential to making maintenance of a large property easier.
From the first video I saw of you two, she so reminds me of a cross between Essence Atkins and Lisa “Left Eye “ Lopez. She even sounds and have mannerisms a lot like Essence Atkins. I’m so enjoying y’all’s video and admire how well y’all work together. Thank you for NOT buying that Lucifer plant. I would’ve had to unsubscribe. To our Heavenly Father be the honor, glory and the praise in Jesus’ name. Amen 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾!!!
As I started watching I definitely thought Essence Atkins. Before I saw this comment. ❤ That's a beautiful compliment , because her spiritual presence is everything 😇
You guys are the epitome of “Equally Yolked!” I just love it! 💜🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🤗
Facts!
Having the right tools would make your land care easier. Two items I see you need are a side by side with trailer to go back and forth to the garden and attachments for the tractor, like a mower. Not cheap items but well worth the investments.
I hope you two are still prioritizing getting to date eachother.
Getting dressed up and going out to eat, a movie night, something. Being married already can have its challenges, and taking care of this property while being married I could only imagine the journey building that momentum❤.
You both seem fine and doing well but I just wanted to say that ❤. It’s a season you’re in right now but just remember, make time for your relationship outside of all this when you can 😊
I love to watch you two. It makes me feel so good to see young people purchase a home with land to call their own with their own money and make good on it. On top of all that you put GOD first. That is the most important thing, both of you give word to who, what, when, where, why and how you do what God called you to do. I thank God for you. Blessings!!!
I love love love planting Lavender and Russian Sage together. They repel mosquitoes and ticks (we live on 120 acres so that’s a great thing) plus my chickens and ducks don’t eat them up like they do every other freaking flower I buy!! But I usually plant some white petunia or other white annual flowers to fill the beds up around them and by mid-June the beds are full of white and purple buds. The Russian sage bushes get fuller year after year just like lavender!
Thank you so much for this comment…. I COMPLETELY forgot to plant sage this year! We’re going to have to go grab some tomorrow to get out in now
New to your channel. The good thing about your 21 acres, is you have nothing but time on your size. Dont rush anything.everything will come together as time gos on. The lord is watching you and hes on your side.
Don't get weary in WELL DOING..for you shall reap if you FAINT NOT.....There is so much more in store for you all. LOVING watching your journey as you fulfill your purpose.
I love how y’all work so well together while learning the lay of your land and your land is absolutely beautiful. Your gratitude is beautiful too🙏🏿❤️
I'm sure it seems like much, but your children and grandchildren will be grateful. It's securing for them an inheritance. The Bible says a good man is able to leave his children's children am inheritance. It's my aim to be where you are by God's grace..
Beautifully said! 🙏🏾
In these end times, it is a good thing to make sure you secure your own food supply.
I love that young couples are doing this. Every time you complete something the reward comes immediately. Keep doing whatcha doin
You could definitely have a MASSIVE compost pile with all that cleanup! I’d love that, so would your garden
Oh we definitely do!
Y'all are doing an amazing job! We need y'all in the season you are in. He's preparing you both to feed thousands ❤ Every member of the body is greatly needed.
Peonies are good perineals, and they come in beautiful colors too. Mainly whites and pinks but gorgeous every year
You two have a hidden jewel, and you are so young yall have a lifetime to learn and that's with anything in life
Just an idea. You all could find a way to turn the acreage that you don't maintain into hay bales, and some cattle farmers buy hay. This could in turn fund your landscape budget.
Have you guys thought of investing in a mower attachment for your tractor it make landscaping a lot simpler. God bless and keep up the vision he is working you both towards
Dude, you should own a 60" zero turn mower. Makes no different which brand - it will definitely save you time.
There’s plenty of stuff we need to own but there’s only so much money in our pockets at the moment!
@@promiseviewacres
I feel ya.
I had to get me one - used though.
@@salemdesigns65 that’s probably what we’re gonna go ahead and do too honestly.
@@promiseviewacres
A tip:
I bought mine through a city auction. It's a mower that was used for city parks - a Hustler.
Good luck. 👍🏽
Garden Queen she is a RUclipsr from St. Louis Missouri. She just shared a amazing way and how she deals with weed pressure in her Garden! She’s so much fun but does a great job! I used it this weekend and it worked! I got rid of weeds in no time
We’ll have to check it out!
Beautiful lakefront property that you can keep in the family for generations to come. How blessed you are. Keep learning and growing. ❤😊
If God brought you to it he bring you through it. He will lead you at the right time what do about your land.
You two are so inspiring. I needed this today. Thank you! Ben Hartman, Lean Farmer in Goshen I mentioned, is making all his own organic compost (and using only compost for fertility) from fall leaves. He gets leaves from the city of Goshen, but would drool over your access to leaves. It's cut a huge expense from his farm budget of buying compost for his market garden.
Vinegar kills soil microbes. It's great for weeds in concrete cracks, but not good for your flower beds. On flower beds, we use cardboard with 2" mulch on top added every other year (free from Chip Drop, but make sure there's no poison ivy in the mulch) - get zero weeds in my beds, only grass pressure on the edges and a flat spade on the edges every spring takes care of that.
Perennials that bloom throughout the season work nicely for 3 season color, and you can often split them and get more for free (like yarrow, asters, daisies, lupine, and hostas). Miniature azaleas, miniature lilac, and hydrangeas behind them.
You two are such a Blessing 🤍🕊
“A hub for God.” So good! That’s exactly what it is.
Love y’all and love how the word of God and faith in Him grounds your entire life and relationship.
Roses, they come back every year and they smell beautiful when you open the door or windows first thing in the morning
I love flowers, no green thumb. Help me Lord
Stonecrop comes back in abundance every Year.
You are both of the same mind and same spirit. Having each other is wonderful andSpecial. God will be and is in everything you do as long as you acknowledge him and let him have his way. May the Lord continue to bless 🙏 you.
I’m inspired by your call to faith and willingness to be bold. I pray your ministry flourishes. 🙏🏾🫶🏾
I love that aerial view of y'all's amazing property.
I understand what you mean because I commute 2 hrs every other weekend to the country to mow acres of my parents' home, my acre and now the churches grass and it is a lot but at the same time comforting because it's nice solitude. I'm nearing age 58 and it can be a lot to do alone. I just pray that God sends me a help mate who can appreciate the country life. You guys hang in there!! Blessings from Tennessee.
I own 30 acres trust me everything you’re saying is so true. I bought some cows and Goats
My favorite flower is Calla Lily, Picasso Calla Lily to be exact. I owned learned how u can take the bulb out at the end of the summer n store it to replant next year if you live in a cold zone. There's several videos on RUclips, of course, on how to do it. Zinnia, Cosmo, Aster and Marigold are some of my other favorite flowers. Plus Zinnias, Cosmos and Marigolds are edible so I will dry them n make tea. " A hug fr9m God" I love that you guys are so blessed. I too want property like this (more acreage cuz I want horses) and am working towards that. God bless you both. 😊
Happy Monday 😊
You may like Marigolds
The view is beautiful! I enjoyed the video as always! Thank you both for being obedient and sharing another powerful message from the Lord.
Yes you are right! Marigolds come in many sizes and constantly bloom.
You all are doing an awesome job on your homestead. Prsise the Lord for leading you to the country. The Lord ked us to the country 14 yrs ago. Best decision we've ever made! Being in nature draws you vloser to God.
Back in action❤
I know you are in different places but I.A.G Farms It's All About God also has the same type of channel. They bought a homestead with many acres and they started out new as well. It would be awesome if there were videos of you both helping each other.
Y'all got this little by little
Give your selves grace
The help will come together divine community of helper's
We will come
I believe it’s a lot of work to maintain the beautiful land but I know that God has chosen you too to continue growing through this journey and eventually you will start learning different ways to make the process easier to manage & maintain. I would love to come visit your beautiful promise land one day.
Thanks🙏🏾
I thank God that I’m feeling better after my knee replacement last month by the grace of Gods & 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 I made it through…
I’m very thankful for your content it really brightened up my day during this rough time🙌🏾 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
I love the 💜 Heart perennial my husband bought us 8 yrs ago that I let die last winter but you guys have inspired me to regrow it along with
The 🫑, celery, 🍇 vine , 🧅 & 🍉 we just started. God will never leave you or forsake you keep up the good work 🙌🏾🙏🏾
I pray to have 20 acres and my life's witness to share it with. This is my future.
Please don’t play😂! God is no joke! He is omnipotent! When you turned the camera around from your beautiful home to the beautiful water!! I can’t🙌🏽🙌🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽He is Almighty to those that follow and believe in His work!🙌🏽🙏🏽
Just ran across yall page today trolling..lol...best thing I did all week....watching you two is heartwarming.....to be so young and so driven is a gift not to be taken lightly. There's a bit of envy in me as well as I wasted waaaay to.much time....me and.my wife have been together for 20 yrs and my hope and prayer is to get a crib of.our own....I'm working on it....I don't have the faith as strong as my.wife do,but she keeps me continually trying to improve. Watching yall even at my age (54) is an inspiration!!...
Yall got a new fan in me and I wish yall continued success!! Peace yall!!!
Don't be dis couraged.Keep God first.
Sheep or goats will sort out the weeds/growth. Also for your vegetable patch, you'll need to make sure you have flowers close by for pollination. You could sow the perimeter with wild flower seed mix, native to the area and for areas you don't want to cut, you could wild them too. So much land, so many options. Pigs for the wet/boggy areas, sheep/goats to keep large grass areas in check😊
You guys can do it!!🥰😁🙏🏾👍🏾💪🏾remember routine, and it will get better and easier…😁👍🏾keep up the great work!! Oh and It’s ok to take a break sometimes, and call a yard guy!!😁
You guys can do this ,do a section at a time I mean clean in sections don't get overwhelmed take your time as a team time yourselves like maybe 1hr per section get Begonias flowers so pretty and can take some sun and they come back over again .Love it❤
After listening to your video again I've deleted and apologize for my previous comments. You said " you're not complaining" just feeling a little overwhelmed which I understand. Y'all are doing a great job🎉 it just takes time to implement a plan/system. Keep up the amazing work ❤
5:36 Garden Queens plants the best containers she has videos on begonias and she shared how to save money 💰
Simone your house and property is so nice. When you get tired step back and take a breath or a day. Hang in there keep going. All days are not goi g to be good. You got it.
You know what , I do agree with you , purpose ! What is Gods purpose for you ! If you think about it , God wants us to get out of the cities and out on the land and work in it
Hello. I like begonias, hydrangeas, hybiscus. For spring, peonies are nice, and hostas grow well.
Is that lake yours alone or does the neighbor use it too?
I love how Simone says it feels like a HUG from GOD
We split it!
Let me know if you decide to subdivide, if possible, and sell some of the acres. ☺️
I just love you both, my brother and sister-in-Christ. You glorify our amazing God!
🥰🥰
Every think about using the dandelions for Juicing.
Get it before you cut it.
I enjoy watching you guys.
What a blessing.
Thanks for sharing your day with us the leaves are valuable. I believe you will be great Stewards on your land
I work my garden all by myself because I have no one to help but Calkim, Yellow Door Urban Homestead, Roots and Refuge, Homestead Heart and The Rusted Gardener are just a few of the channels have help me and putting GOD first
Don’t squeeze the “string of pearls!”😂😂😂
Great video, thanks for fighting thru all the annoyance. I promise I'm enjoying ya'lls work. God Bless!
I like Roses, but I also like many other flowers. I love y’all home on 21 acres, it’s beautiful.
I love dahlias. They have such huge blooms and so many brilliant colors.
A long lasting favorite that is perennial hardy and fragrant is Dianthus..also Dahlia.. Daylily ..Coreopsis and Phlox.. blessings 🕊️❤️
I love Begonias. I've been planting them just about every Spring for 15 yrs. They bloom throughout the Summer thru early Winter. I'm in Houston, so it gets pretty hot. You must water daily if in direct sunlight. I prefer the ones with light green leaves.
I’m so glad I stumbled across your page! As a Christian I am inspired, thank you for sharing your journey with us.
Look into growing the echinacea flower - beautiful pink/purple colour, easy to grow, perennial and has a multitude of medicinal properties! It's a must for any homestead!
Hostas are perfect perennials that are basically maintenance free and keep getting larger every year and some spread . You can buy a few and never ever have to buy another. You can split them and plant the babies wherever you want. They come in different colors and some are shade lovers and others love sun . Happy gardening ❤️🙏🏽
Love hostas! Definitely need some of them
it's also probably hard, because y'all have full time jobs, in addition to maintaining the property. Do you have plans to work full time on the property eventually?
Love watching you guys living out your purpose. Find you both so refreshing and agree with you that everything belongs to God, sometimes we lose sight of that. When I bought my home weeds became my nemesis. I found this guy on RUclips called silver cymbal. I started following his advice and there has been drastic improvements to my yard. Hopefully you guys can get some tips on handling the weeds.
Leaves are a great source of fertilizer. They make the richest and darkest soil along with grass clippings, vegetable scraps, fruit peelings etc composting.
Great view. I love the view you have. Always remember when God blesses you, he does not add sorrow to it. Yall are doing a good job managing what he has given you. Have you considered using the grass and the leaves to make your own compost? Blessings
Finger joints are how the wood is joined together if you look on the back you'll see a zig zag glue joint so they can make the lengths longer than usual.
That is a beautiful driveway. I pray one day I am blessed with a view/ drive close to that❤
it is too much, but that is why it is HIM! He has called you to growth and development. You two will soon have a network of helpers to assist with the grounds and with developing your orchard. Soon you will be employing people and bringing sustenance to other families. God would not have given something that would remain comfortable and stagnant. The fact that it is overwhelming is a good thing. You are about to see His hand bring you to a place of increase. Blessings to you both. This journey is an inspiration to many!
You kids are very smart. You can never go wrong with property! Love what you do and it will be fun and not work ❤❤😂
Garden Queens shares so much on Hydrangeas not sure if you watch other RUclipsrs! She is hands down my favorite RUclipsr right now! I just subscribed
Can you both swim? Pond safety concerns. How deep is this body of water and does it require cleaning etc. Consider getting crew to do a dive and map.Would be good to have life jackets for guests at the edge for little ones in the future. ❤ from Canada.
Marble said, "lazy who? I'll show you"🤣🤣🤣🤣
I thought y’all would have get chickens and goats by now. They add to the joy trust me you’ll enjoy them 🙏🏾👏🏽👍🏽
I think it's beautiful that the house will always give you a reason to be outdoors even when you're older. It like solidfied a lifelong healthy lifestyle.
❤ God Bless You ❤
Question, what happened to the 440 trees Y'all planted?
👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾 lol
@@promiseviewacres 🥺 oh Nooo, what happened to them?
@@promiseviewacres could any of them be saved? 🌴🌴
Have you learned about permaculture? If not, then I suggest you do a course on permaculture. It will provide you all you need to know on land management, including diving your land into zones and planning various improvements on each zone. Zoning the land helps you allocate time spent on each zone. Some areas do not need much attention at all, and will thrive. But, they will still need monitoring.
Continue to glorify God in Jesus name! What a blessing it is to live in purpose on purpose according to the will of God😊
Easy maintenance: any perrenials flowering - favorite is canas. They can be tall, but showstopper on my property. Begonias are my favorite annual and last Spring to Frost
You guys invigorate me. It doesn't matter how stressful my work / day has been you remind me to remain grateful to the LORD for all experiences. He has a purpose in it all.
Oh yeah beautiful Irises too . When they grow you can split them and plant the babies . They don’t need to be way underground either so no deep holes to dig .
It's a lot, but you can relax once you finish planting, fixing, and maintaining. We purchased a fixer-upper, and it's taking us four years to get it together. I wouldn't say I like the weed; I hate pulling them up, and they keep coming back, which is crazy. Having a home there is always something to do. #Loveyouguyschannel
You two are so much fun to watch! I love ya'll . Once you grow Zinnias and Sunflowers, they will melt your heart and they are the two things I grow each year. When you see them, they make you smile. Buy "Procut" so that you can cut and make bouquets for inside. I also like Gerbers and African Daisys.
U2 made a great choice don't give up u just young now when y'all turn 50 u gone look back and know u made a great choice on land it's hot outside it can be overwhelming but hang in there u got enough land to do BNB tiny home communities that's a money maker on half just A thought I'm A Country girl moved from the big city back to Country after 30 yrs of citylife I'm Debtfree We got 4:acres with A new Cabin put on it which we put lots of work outside .but I love it fresh air less crime peace n quiet .God bless Hang in there .
My favorite flower is baby breath
No it doesn't sound like complaining it sounds like you're sharing experience and wisdom
Some people are such a good match. God bless yall😊
I dont know if anyone has mentioned cardboard, but it is an AWESOME weed barrier that usually last a couple of years. If you want to plant in the bed its not as difficult to get through the cardboard as a traditional weed barrier you get from Lowes or somewhere and i think it works better. I use it in my beds by my house and ive used in a small flower bed i had for pollinators next tobmy garden. Hope that helps!!
